It looks like the PS4 held the record for fastest-selling console for one week! Congrats to Microsoft! I'm still amazed that Sony and Microsoft were both able to produce so many consoles in time for launch. So much for the Xbox One being behind in production as well!
You can only sell as many units as you can produce. If the PS4 had launched in Europe simultaneously, they certainly would not have had 1 million units allotted just for North America.
LMAO! I have no problem with Major Nelson, he seems like a nice guy. But these gifs are hilarious!
I see it as a sign of two things:
1. This console generation has gone on far too long and people are dying for new gaming systems
2. Sony was able to manufacture a ton of consoles in time for launch
Sounds more like ignorance on the subject than a lie... Perhaps they should thoroughly research everything they are going to say beforehand, because fanboys are foaming at the mouth and ready to jump on any tiny mistake they make, even something as insignificant as remote control support.
People need to stop claiming every game site is "biased" when they report something they don't want to hear or give a game a certain score. Many sites have given the Xbox One a...
People are really scratching the bottom of the barrel now to find negative things about the Xbox One to blow out of proportion. Thankfully, the hardware and game reviews are now out and they are mostly positive. Only 2 days to go! :)
Both consoles are/were essentially sold out at launch, so it just comes down to who (Sony or Microsoft) was able to produce more consoles in time for launch to meet demand. Launch sales indicate nothing about future sales for the consoles.
Friday can't come soon enough!
Gizmodo had a pretty beaming review as well. My favorite quote:
"So if your gaming zone is reasonably quiet, you are in for an almost Star Trek experience. But if you've got roommates, or kids, or dogs, or whatever, you're probably going to have a lot of "everybody be quiet while I talk to the TV" moments, which really ruins the magic. That's a shame, because it is magic."
I am SO excited for Friday!
Killer Instinct??? That is a free-to-play downloadable game... Why would it be on a retail pre-order list?
Is this really necessary? Your comments are unprovoked and look far more like reassurance than this guy's article.
"Making the totally fair comparison to NBA 2K14 would be like LeBron James playing a pickup game against an arthritic giraffe."
LMAO, getting a little carried away there, IGN? Nonetheless, the game does look quite bad.
Playing a COD game is just about the last thing I would want to do upon getting a next gen console. I'd rather play Knack!
If Microsoft was able to manufacture over 1 million Xbox One units in time for launch, then it very well could. Both consoles are sold out at launch. It's just about how quickly they can produce the consoles. No doubt the Wii would have easily sold 1 million units at launch if the supply had been there.
If this happens, the Xbox One install base will increase massively. This would pretty much change everything when it comes to the console wars and sales arguments. The PS4 wouldn't stand a chance to be in as many homes as the XB1. This would really strengthen third party support as well with all those potential customers out there.
This is a review for Zoo Tycoon. Please keep the fanboyism out of here.
Knack is a full retail game and one of the big exclusive launch titles for PS4, and created by Mark Cerny, the lead architect of the console.
LocoCycle and Crimson Dragon are arcade games likely intended for the 360 but moved to next gen.
You're really stretching with that comparison.
Battlefield?
This is what you get when the console cycle has gone on for far too long. People are so burned out on the PS3 and 360 and are ready for new consoles.
