Bubbles and well said.
I know ppl knocked Far Cry Predator, because it was so linear, yet I found more ways through different sections than was noted on many sites. In doing so, taking the time to explore, look for alternatives, I found little trinkets the developers had left under waterfalls, under bridges and warfes etc.
WOuld I have found those if I blundered straight through the 'normal' most direct route, certainly ...
Some gamers can and do play games faster than others. It's not a reflection on a slower gamer, or their inabilities, but a reflection on whether or not someone can do something faster than another.
I loved the game 'BLACK' on the 1st-gen Xbox, last of the better games on that platform, and perhaps more advanced than the first iteration of games on the 360 at that time.
But there was one guy that finished the game in 2hrs, 47 mins and some odd seco...
Yep, we hate the platform SO MUCH that we dedicate a whole section to the "Steal It For 360' on the OXCGN site. http://oxcgn.com/steal-it/
Thing is, most of those reviews are for great games, no matter WHAT platform you may have a 'preference' for.
Both reviewers own and love the PS3's, as well as their 360's, Wii's, iPhones/HTC's and PC's etc, they simply want to s...
@ bart999
Thanks and bubbles for you.
There's many a game that has me playing it several times over. Not to attain the goodies hidden within, but for the sheer fact of trying to better my times, open the game up to other possible avenues and see what would happen 'if I went this way - or that'
The mark of a good game is how often a gamer will immerse themselves in the singleplayer side of the game.
It's easy t...
'Replayability' is always referred to the SP side of a game. Meaning that does a game have the ability to engage the player more than once through the game in SP.
Whereas MP side of things can be played online with others as much as a player desires, and has no relevance on the storyline, the playability, the gameplay, the 'actual mechanics of the game.
The world in gaming does NOT revolve around Multiplayer, otherwise game developers would simp...
I know the job of a developer, even a small indie one, is to create something 'different', challenging' and idealy, get ppl to ask questions and get involved.
But this just doesn't even address any of these.
If this gets passed or ends up available, then games like Six Days in Fallujah ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wik... should have been approved, and the fuss about ...
It's a sad sad day when a developer, albeit an indie one (modder) decides to actually use such a topic for a game . ..
It's individuals like this that put real publishers and their development studios they represent under the microscope.
They are the ones that suffer the most, both financially and in regards to closing studios, and thus ppl loosing work.
Just do not know what floats between some ppl's ears, probably nothing.
The link does lead to some guy 'goin-off' in no uncertain term, and not in a very 'polite' manner either.
It certainly doesn't do much for his credibility when it comes to the Helghast. Well not in my books.
If he can't offer a constructive, albeit critical evaluation, then don;t bother. It's great to read good write-ups on such things, but swearing ones head off and ranting on certainly does little to sell the idea of a poor produ...
Yeah they do mate. Local publsihers get a budget to provide 'their' promotional gear as well as Special Kits, such as localised CE/LE's etc.
This includes getting local graphic companies to do all the package design, then printing and assembly etc.
SO depending on the region, and what quality of work that that printing/graphics 3rd party company does, is how well, or not, that the goods get manufactured.
A close friend did the 2 l...
True, many companies now imitate Apple's excellent branding and packaging, Everything slips together neatly, unfolds nicely, is a snug fit to protet things. This is true of several major publishers efforts on major titles.
But this just looks filmsy at best. Helmet was smaller than I thought it would be, and is done the same way Halo 3's Legendary Helmet edition is done, but the packaging on the Halo 3 item was much better.
I got the Assassin's Cr...
The packaging leaves a lot to be desired though. Look at say Black-Ops's Legendary edition with the remote vehicle., or their last NVG edition, or the Ubisoft Codex Edition.
Packaging is a huge part of how something is 'presented'. And also ads to the 'collectibility' of an item as well.
This edition had little proper packaging, yet had a hefty US price tag to go with it.
Nintendo are not known for dropping their prices, and if/when they do, it's not usually for some time after release.
True, there's actually an "official nintendo' caveat on the 3ds that they only recommend the use of the console for no more than 2 hours at the most . . . .
Which of sort of speaks for its self really.
Great for short burst games, but terrible for extended games, and those requiring lots of eye movement , heaven help someone if they were trying to do a FPS etc, ouch.
I am personally expecting to hear stories popping up about eye ...
My worry here in Australia is that right now,we are being hit hard by increases in almost every aspect of living expenses.
Power is going up by as much as 24%, fuel is now around $US6 per gallon, food has been hard hit with the floods, fires and hurricans.
SO luxury items may well take a back seat here . . .time will tell of course, but Australia only amounts to around 1.5% of the global market for gaming, or even many major electronic goods.
Well, the more ppl that approach them, either through their own efforts, or jointly, the higher likelihood of some sort of response.
Say if MS/Sony were to replace the consoles lost from victims, so long as the person could bring in evidence that the item was lost, damaged in the flood etc etc,
That would win the hearts and minds of not only gamers, but parents as well.
Sure, some would be covered by home insurance, but many would not .. .
It will be actually, MS have managed to get good prices for their various 360 custom cases in the past, with some selling for over several $k. while others sell for several hundred, well above normal retail.
Let's hope that ppl support it, as it's a worthwhile cause, as is any disaster relief.
It would be great if more publishers helped out those who help line their pockets throughout the world with such activities.
Even if it's only a few thousand $$'s, it ALL helps those who have lost everything in such events as floods, fires and hurricanes.
I got one of their earlier Sonic Adventure Blue Vinyl LP, looks sweet actually, and certainly attracts its fair share of attention when ppl come over.
@ despair
Agreed, but what I'm talking about more, is getting such titles out to the general public, who are the ones that would buy such a title 'faster' than those who are perhaps stuck in the whole "if it doesn't have a gun I'm not interested" style of gamer, which there are way too many of these days.
Hydrophobia was like this, excellent game, great water mechanics, got seen by few, and played bey even fewer.
...
The promotion should be throughboth MS and SOny, as it's available on both networks actually.
It's a crying shame games like this do not get the promotional $$'s that many of the half-baked disc-based games do that are basic flops.
One of the biggest failings of both networks is the amount of promotion outside the actual network that is done, so general public, the ones that would buy these types of games, never see them.
So sales ne...
Yet another great addition to the Assassin's Creed franchise by Ubisoft.
Obviously they'll have something else planned for when this series does eventually 'finish', which I'm not looking forward to, as this has and is a great journey, no matter where it goes.
