The game will most likely surface around October/November '09 . .which will be just short of the following Xbox release in late '10 or early '11. By the time PGR5 hits, the current 360 will be running full 65nm chipsets, have a unified CPU and GPU, which they have been working on since the release of the 'current' 360.
How you can say it'll be "just milking the series is beyond me . . .two games on one generation is not milking a series, it's enhancing gameplay for the ga...
The two studios don't revole it between each other as such, but Activison does the revolving. Remembering that Activison is the Publisher, not Infinity Ward. . .
COD5 has been in production by Treyarch for some time now, and there was evidence of this on the Charley Oscar Delta site at the sam etime COD4: Modern Warfare was "announced" . It was promptly pulled down the next day . . .
I study the upcoming games for the 360 a great deal, and have an exhau...
Totally agree with you, but it seems if you do lay out a reason way something happened, and someone doesn't agree with it, for whatever reasons, it gets removed as being "Offensive" . . .
That aside, MS had a clear cut reason for stopping the production of the 1st-gen xbox. It was always going to be a "Stop-Gap-measure" to get them into the market, and see how it would fare with the developers at large. Which is why they went around for several months prior ...
How in gods green earth was what I said OFFENSIVE . . .? It was factual. well researched and backed with resourses about a bloggers article. I in no way said anything offensive to anyone, or inferred anything offensive to any member in this forum/thread/post. If you have the guts enough to comment on the post, then do so, or PM me, but having it deleted by calling my post OFFENSIVE is just juvenile to the extreme.
Someone going to get this one deleted as well due to being OFFEN...
Not sur eif you realise it or not, but most games have a 2 - 5 year production life, starting from conceptual to release day. Many studios have multiple games in production by more than one studio, and thus it "seems" shorter than it might be. Some followingiterations of a series can be well into production before the former is even released. It's just how things are done to reduce lead time between releases.
Infinity Ward were working on COD4 straight after they fini...
Back "On-Topic" - While many of you won't bother reading this, (as it requires reading jk btw) it does explain why MS dropped the 1st-gen Xbox as they did, and can be substanciated by the two books mentioned below. I submitted this to the guys blog above . . .
While many have very valid and thoughtful comments, and I don’t disagree with many of them, however, one thing has been forgotten, well actually, several.
If you check the books by renouwned New Y...
Not everyone comes from the USA of UK . . . Many great developers come from the upper regions of Europe, and funnily enough, have accents . . funny that. And seeing the games a good 2 years off, approx, then anything seen now will most likely change a great deal by the time finished code appears, such as fonts/text etc.
What is is with so many of you guys. You seem like you must dish everything that appears, just for the sake of it. And, if it's not appearing in the next few m...
Haze was always, is and will be a Multiplatform Game, for PS3 (released first) then the PC/Xbox360 released a few months later, most likely just after Christmas or in the New Year to coincide with the US holiday period, and extend the holiday sales before the usual post new year droubt sets in.
So, if you've ever had the misfortune to own and run a major business, then you'll understand the need to make financially critical choices, over what your supporters might think is a go...
Wrong facts . . .Free Radical have stated that Haze, which was first begun on the PC/360 platform some time ago, will in fact be coming out on ALL three platforms, without exception, and th eonly difference being, that at this time, it's best for them to drop it on te shelves for PS3 first - at that time, due to overwhelming odds that the game would come up against stiff opposition, at that time.
They also have 6 other major titles, and the Public Beta of TC: EndWar coming out...
The thing many seem to forget ie, that Haze was being developed for the 360 "before" they began work on the PS3 title, there's been playable code out for 360 for some time at various Xbox360 mags throughout the world. There's been previews of the game on the 360 for some time now, and as Free Radicals exec said yesterday, the game IS coming to the 360 and PC, no matter what stories have leaked through the internet-romour-mill.
The only thing about Haze that differs f...
Final fantasy has been pushed to Spring '08 . . http://www.gamepro.com/news... so scratch that one off the huge list of games . . . And, Haze has just been un-exclusived by Free-Radical . . . countering to internet claim that the game was to be a PS3 "exclusive" . . . It will be coming to the Xbox360 and PC, just not right at the same time
Which is a good thing really, as it's a great ga...
With Sony currently loosing aroun $US260 per 60gig console, and having lost $US1.3 billion in their gaming divisons year ending '06 and a further $US1.9 billion in the gaming divison the first quarter '07. A record high for Sony over the last 7 years - not a target they want to be shouting from the rooftops, that's for sure . . . Dropping the price "immediately" is not only an absurd request, but a sure sign that those on the petition have little knowledge of what mess Sony are curr...
oh come on . . . (extract from article -) “and the overall quality of games have been dropping for the past few years.” . . . if anyone can look at games like Gears Of War, Graw 1 & 2, Rainbow SIx; Vegas, PGR3 and many many more, how in gods name can a statement like that be held with any regard.
Games have come a long long way in the last few years, with a great deal of it being under the skin of many, with physics engines that far exceed anything on earlier platforms . ....
I suppose it's difficult t define what is, and isn't a fanboy, as for each person it's quite different.
From my experience on sites, when I pass a comment, or start a thread on a news topic showing the pros or cons of something, it will inevidably get some person saying I'm a fanboy and that I'm simply trashing the system it's related to because I'm a MS Fanboy. And seeing I am a Xbox360 lover, it usually about something negative Sony or at time MS have done to warrant the atte...
Excellent coverage on a great past-time for many gamers. And a welcome read for those wanting to get into Retro-Gaming for the first time. Many younger gamers aren't as savy on the older games, and often think of them as toys, an dnothing matches "This-Gen" etc. But gaming started out on these, and other older console based gaming items, including the Arcade Console/cabinets many of us older gamers (40 - 50yr olds) played when we were young.
There were no Nintendo, D...
You can’t compare the two games, they are in a different sub-genre’ of racing . . . .
Motorstorm is an out-n-out arcade adventure, where realism is out the door. It’s a brilliant game, and designed for just pure bashem-up-smashem-up fun.
Colin McRae: DIRT on the other hand, is a highly sim-like game, where every aspect of the cars, track and driving ability are based on real-world physics. Where tyres, rims, chassis, fuel etc are all taken into consideration when...
Thi swas shown at Spanish Game Exhibition by MS Developers prior to the release of the Xbox360 last November state side. The origional concept drawing was somewhat smaller actually, an dthis looks 110% better than the first iteration.
Bigger keys, better layout and a definit eimprovement over the standard in dash typing as well. It fits in perfectly with the concept of the controller and looks the part. If you're a heavy user of Text-Messaging on your phone, then you'll pick u...
Hopefully you'll take this as simple, constructive comment, and use it for your following Blogs/submissions mate . . .
I tried reading your entry, but just couldn't maintain focus past several lines . .You see, the human eye, when viewing things on the net, needs to have a rest, and can really only manage several lines of text at best in one go . . . Paragraphs and small paragrapghs at that help the reader scan through the contents to see if they wish to investthe time in readi...
Great read and some excellent history of the Games to-date . . Looking forward to The Price Of Persia on Next-Gen, I have it listed in the Xbox360 2007-8 Games Listing, and do believe it will be much better than the earlier ones, especially now te developers can harness more of the Xbox360 and the other next-gen consoles.
Always like great articles to have links to for my Games Listing, thanks for this . . .
Just to settle this argument, once and for all.
UT3 WILL be coming to the 360 in 2008, and this 'Confirmation' comes straight from Mark Rien himself while speaking to CVG just a little while ago. He's spoken so as to allay the fears and speculation that has arisen with regards to the comments made by Mike Capps which, as usual, were taken out of context, and blown way out of proportion.
Epic already has code for UT3 running on the 360 as well as the PC, it's simp...
