Most game publishers allow a 4-6 month lead time before release from when they first 'officially' announce the release date. Allowing time for a proper marketing plan to be run across most mediums, such as mags and print media, which have a 6 week lead up to shipping dates.

So an immediate or early release is highly unlikely, perhaps an early Christmas release?

yep, great movie, and this will be prob one of the best games for 2011.

We just popped up another 100+ LA Norie images today, and a new movie. (in article above).

The attention to the fine details in facial animation is beyond anything any other game has even attempted to do, due to the huge demand on storage and CPU/GPU requirements.

This is why Team Bondi (and Aussie developer btw) worked on its own special 3d capture engine and procedures,...

Most cases in LA Noire are based on actual crimes committed in the LA district during the period of the game. They are using a LA Times newspaper style delivery that replicates the news of the time, tied in with the game, so as to make it seem YOU are the cop/dectective that works on the various cases.

You start out as a simple 'Beat Cop', then become a normal detective, then into the Vice Squad and finally Arson Detective.

Check the vid in the articl...

Microsoft's not user-friendl;y for some gamers, especially for those who just want the Silver Service, and not wanting Multiplayer services etc.

As now, many developers are making it mandatory that in order to play games, or have your save recorded online, you NEED a Gold Membership, otherwise, most of your singleplayer leaderboard scores go un-noticed.

Like the recent Operation Flashpoint: Red River. Unless you're connected to Gold Live, your scores ...

There's a link in the review, bout 2/3rds through where they discuss the differences. It leads to a full 12 mins of actual gameplay of the PC, 360 and PS3 side by side, and there's bugger-all in them. Check it out.

Sure, the PC comes out tops, it always will, but considering that the consoles are coming along now with great looking, and playing games, it does show that we all (PC, 360 & PS3 gamers alike) can enjoy great titles.

No probs mate, One thing we do at OXCGN is write our own stuff, and if we use segments from anyone elses articles, we give them credit, and only supply a 'snippet' and provide the source.

That aside, I'm super glad the guys at Team Bondi have finally gotten the game to where it is, it has taken them close to 6-7 yrs since they first came up with the idea of the 3D camera system at Sydney Uni, from there into a possible game conception...

I agree, it's one of my 'biggest' concerns with the game actually.

Reading a lot of forums where many commenters' are asking if it's like GTA IV or if it's filled with gunfights, do you get a chance to fly choppers, smash cars etc etc.

Sure, you drive cars, but like normal ppl.

And when you need to requisition a persons car on the street.

You don't drag them out and rip-it-off GTA style. You need t...

If you follow the story only, there's 20 - 30 hours of gameplay, yet if you follow all the site missions, adventures etc, there's close to 60 plus hours of gameplay available for the enthusiast.

Make no mistake, this game has far more available in it than can be printed here or explained.

This game is just getting bigger and bigger with each week.

Now they have tied real history into the storyline with various gangsters of the era being portrayed, along with their own escapades that made them famous.

Plus the list of real actors appearing in just NPC roles is huge to say the least.

NOt many, if any game titles have enrolled actors for secondary roles, let alone just NPC roles. It must be costing a small fortune to produce.

It seems they went backwards with the visuals on this, I know they are trying to create a 'different' look, but it looks just terrible compared to other more polished efforts.

What many are missing is, that developers are now getting a solid handle on the gaming consoles - as they are.

Sure, the consoles motherboards and GPUs are being tweaked, while still leaving the basic framework in tact, and by doing so, they allow the developer room to make advancements on their engines.

Developers are now getting more, MUCH more from less than they were when the generation started in 2005/6. They can build bigger and better environments, gre...

Then please learn to read all of the articles - by not doing so, you may miss something vital, or - hopefully not, put your foot in your mouth about something said further into an article.

PPl write these for you to read, not glance at a title then make your mind up if you agree or not.

You become more fully informed when you read all of the articles, no matter what site they come from.

Great, I agree, but let's stop critising them BEFORE they even hit the shelves, or anyone gets their collective hands on them.

Just because it might not sink through our individual skulls as to what the game developer is trying to sell us initially, does not mean the game 'sux' or is a 'fail' even before it's launched.

You want publishers to fund developers to the tune of $US20-50mil per title, yet you (that is a 'collective you...

I don’t think Kinect or Move ‘failed’ in their own right.

In fact, taking Kinect as the example, seeing it has outsold Move by 3×1 according to US retail studies, with over 10 mil units sold globally todate. Failed could not be the word used.

Especially given the short window that it has been available.

Sure, most gamer’s have NOT been the purchasers, and, as I watched and reported from the LA Kinect launch floor in 2010, Kinect (and Mov...

It can be a head-spinner at times. You just have to look 'outside the box' for an answer to some of the puzzles.

It can be a tad confusing at times as well, which isn't a game issue, just learning to understand how to get your head around a particular puzzles set-up.

Sometimes there's clues on the floor, walls, or in what is said. Definitely a brain-teaser.

From the small play I've had thus far, this is brilliant. Games need not have the most realistic graphics, or the cast of hundreds, or the biggest guns, or guns for that matter, or even Multiplayer in order to be 'greatness'.

What they need is a well crafted game mechanics, a great middleware engine, a decent story behind it that gets you involved, and is a game that drives you to keep going - just one more level.

This is what Portal 2 delivers - ...

@ gaminoz:

True, there are course-for-horses as they say, and Battlefield needs to be realistic, but yes, there is a huge amount of 'shooters' out there, but as I've observed over the last 12 - 24 mths, when a development studio fronts with something that doesn't have a basic shooting baseline in it, it tanks, and the gamers steer away from it.

It's almost as if they are scared of innovation, and can not break away from the boring old '...

For this 'particular title' I think it IS a good thing, as the game is about a realistic style warfare, tactical use of a team, and the ability to feel 'enmeshed' within the game's world.

If it were a game like say L.A. Noire, which while having the world best animation for facial recognition, and real actors playing the parts of all NPCs, it does 'look' like a game, and is intended to be that way.

It too will be an excellent examp...

WHile I acknowledge the PC version, with all the extras turned on will no doubt be brilliant, DICE have assured ppl in their various interviews (Head over to Game Informer) that each build will look great, and that the Frostbite 2 engine allows them to do things they simply could not do in the past on consoles, allowing them to deliver games far beyond what one would expect.

The fact is, we will all (PC, PS3 & X360) have a great experience with the title, as each is being...

I think there's room for all, as each developer does have its own genre speciality, and as they master it, they will of course produce more games of similar style.

There will always be great fun-shooters about, but there will also be the need for tactical shooters as well.
