True, quite true, thing is, many think that games cost too much, and that the cost of games should come down.
Trouble with that is, they can't.
It'snot that the cost of games is too high, they have remained much the same for a few decades actually, it's the sheer number of games being shifted to shelves each month that is making it difficult for gamers to make a choice.
Once it was relatively within reason to get all the latest ga...
That's where the 'conflict' has been during this new wave of warfare.
The wars of the world have moved from aggressive conflict to insurgency based in local towns and cities mainly in the middle eastern areas, and spilling over to other European cities.
The current 'conflicts' will be with us for many more years, so games will follow that course naturally.
There's such a HUGE scope of possibilities in this era for deve...
Yep, same applies to both Operation Flashpoint: Red River (which is shaping up beautifully btw) and also GHOST Recon: Future Soldier.
While games of this nature are excellent for MP, their real niche is the SP side of things.
As it's there the developer can exploit the constant gamer by way of good SP DLC, that has them 'retain' the game much much longer than the MP player who's interests wane quickly once they have had their 15 mins of MP fa...
COuld not agree more, with the new Frostbite 2 engine, the game should not only look great, but have that element of 'believability' that many almost get, but not quite.
Especially around character fluidity. While I'm not a huge MP fan, not everyone on the face of the gaming planet is lol, it does seem like the storyline is shaping up to be engaging. So long as it gives me various ways of dealing with situations, then I'll be happy.
But it wil...
It has a $AU109.95 price point here, top tier games are $AU119.95 here in standard form, so that's about right.
I was hoping it did NOT have MP actually, as that feature would probably wreck a title such as this. It would be like adding MP to say Heavy Rain or similar.
Price point for console games here are:
first tier = $AU99.95
second tier = $AU109.95
and top tier = $AU119.95.
And with our dollar out ...
The man simply can not act. He has a set number of 'expressions' and uses them throughout the show. He's overplayed within the show, to the detriment of other good actors.
That aside, I like the CSI series, with the exception of course of Miami lol, It will be interesting to see justhow we play as the young policeman as he works his way to becoming a detective.
I'd rather the game be this style, than a point-n-click style, as this way of playi...
It's still underway, that's for sure. They have been working on Half Life 3 for several years now, while other teams work on extensions to existing franchises and titles.
We'll prob hear 'some news' at E3 2011, or at the very least, TGS re it's schedule.
They have several titles on track for release, and it's obvious they need to concentrate on those first and foremost - naturally.
But it's great to get more ad...
Wow, sounds decent enough, I know if you love a genre enough, it's easy to devote a huge amount of time to it (whatever it be)
I've clocked up over 400hrs on PGR3 (hated 4), 300hrs in Forza 3, and around 260 in Forza 2, Still playing Medal Of Honor after 25hrs, no, have played it through, just keep redoing sections, or playing Tier One etc.
So it would be easy to see how one could spend 40hrs plus and still not be through the game . . . .
Looks and sounds great, I'm not sure if I have the patience for such epic RPG's, but it is tempting....
@ scofios:
Man, you seriously need to grow up, and also 'read' what an article is about . . . it is in NO OWAY discregarding the title Killzone 3, but using it as an example of a 'good' apocalyptic game, compared to other games that are deemed 'beautiful' . .
sheezzess. And they say xbox fanboys are one-eyed. can you actually read past the first 2 lines of any story?

Very very true, much of the Homefront pre-release footage 9supossedly in-game) looked great, yet the final product is far from being - great. In fact, it's a discrace to be honest.
I went to the official media pre-release vMP playoff the other day, and the game looked shoddy at best.
So yes, I certainly agree, they can look a lot better before being delivered. But would you call an apocoliptic game, beautiful?
@ Vojkan: & TreMillz
It's a gaming site - operative word being 'gaming', with a bent towards the 360 platform. If you check the site out, rather than simply looking at the 'colours', you'll see they review, discuss and cover PS3, Wii, PC, iPhone, games as well as the 360.
Check the 'Steal It' tab to see what I mean before passing critisim.
We have many PS3 owners who come for the unbiased reporting on both...
Ture, it has its 'moment's, but would you not say that overall, it's far more apocalyptic, than beautiful, when compared to say Far Cry 2 as an example.
Where almost all scenes are depicted beautifully???
I'm much like you in that regard. WHile some games can look 'brilliant', and I'd say the brand new footage of Battlefield 3's Faultline in-game vids show that, I would not call it a 'bautiful' game.
GHames like Far Cry 2 - Africa, Uncharted 1-2, Bioshock 1-2, etc and even games of different genre's like Flower etc have scenes which are truly 'beautiful' throughout the game.
Showing beautiful vistas, deep wooden forests ...
Thing is, ppl like this STILL get the public's attention, and often their following and sympathy.
Which is WHY they do it all the more, even though they might well be discredited, as he is officially now.
It creates public interest, and it's the minority that often has the most affect on the world around us, sadly.
Actually, it reminds me of another New IP heading our way looking remarkably as foolish and uneventful - that being GunLoco . . .
Which is set in semi-futuristic prison style madcap gun-totting free-for-all with no storyline or plot to speak of, and just all out rampage, guns-blazing and lots of loilet humour, yet again.
Of course it will have a heavy MP aspect, which these games basically rely on these days.
Gone are the days of decent story...
There does seem to be a common denominator with games like this, and it seems Epic can not break out of it. Perhaps due mainly to the fact Cliff Bleszenski is a rampant FPS with a flair for OTT style gameplay. So anything 'sensible' is out of the question.
I think Gears Of War 3 will just be much of the same somehow, with little or no real innovation from GoW2.
There's nothing wrong of course with this style of gameplay, but when it's hyped to...
I also agree, thing is, many sites and media are not giving it the attention it deserves, because it's breaking the moulld of conventional games that are popular today, ie CoD, Modern Warfare, Battlefield, MoH etc, where brains are secondary over trigger fingers.
Rockstar are sending out a huge amount of media data and vids each week, sometimes twice a week, yet very little of it ends up on the web or in publications - one would ask the question - why?
It...
Rest assured, L.A. Noire the game is not like any other game out there -yet. And, unfortunately, that in its self might just be its undoing.!!
As many gamers of 'this era' will find it frustrating and an 'effort', as it requires the gamer to use their minds rather than their right trigger-finger.
Not a stratergy shooter, or a ganstar-style game, nor a RPG-film throw-off like say Heavy Rain, but a unique game style that has yet to be used with ...
The two tactical FPS's that can and should be compared are Operation FLashpoint (Red River) which is shaping up brilliantly, and of course Battlefield 3.
Both rely on the use of 'human smarts', rather than sheer gun power
