If you read the actual Battlefield 3 website, and view the interviews on Game Informer where they discuss the games technological acclaim, you’ll hear them quite clearly state that ‘each platform’ will have builds that will use that platforms capabilities to the best DICE can muster.
They will not be porting the game across to the X360 or PS3, but doing builds that suit those platforms.
One needs only go to Game Informers news site to view a HUGE array of int...
It seems to only really interest the MP crowds that like the mad -run-n-gun-slash-curb stomp- kinda guys/gals on the net.
For me, it seems Epic is so focused in such titles, aimed primarily at MP, that they have forgotten the Single Player gamer.
I'd rather have games like Uncharted, Battlefield 3, L.A. Noire, Operation Flashpoint: Red River, or games basically with some 'meat' on their bones for the gamer.
Personally I'm over Gears Of War, with the great games coming out this year, several eclipse what Gears has to offer - for me.
It's getting so 'samey' that it's almost predictable as what will happen. While the game is great on many levels, I think most gamers only see Gears as a Multiplayer game, and really are not that interested in the game - as a story driven game.
Sad really, as it did start out well, but dropped the ball in Gears 2. ...
Sure, they own such franchises, as do all publishers through their respective developers.
It would simply mean that each publisher could 'compile' a series of game levels that best represent their own best franchises, and present them in one, or more discs to bring more life into some of the older games, which do seem to stand the test of time.
She represents one of THE most played and talked about franchises known - Lara Croft, and portrayed her as the game-to-film protagonist, and what a player she was.
Did you know she did many of her own stunts in most of the movies, remember that swinging beam that burst the ball on the huge statue . . .she did the entire stunt herself, after the stunt-female couldn't pull it off - hehehehe
Just a little bit of film trivia for you.
But yes,...
When you view the tech demo vid in the article this week, you'll see why Team Bondi (Aust developer btw) is perhaps leading the field in gestural and facial recognition within gaming.
Other studios will certainly have to pick up the ball if they want to compete with these guys, and gamers will be demanding it as well.
One would hope that Team Bondi may well license their tech out, or do work for other development houses under contract.
yes, exactly.
Much like the recent dlc release for DICE's Bad Company 2 brought about a retail rise in the price of the orinal game, as you needed it to play the Vietnam dlc game levels, which brought both retailers and publishers income.
NOt a bad idea actually, it could definitely also encourage sales of older games, be that through new sales voia retail, or DLC once they come about, or simply getting players onto Live/PSN to play the various games.
WHich in turn, brings in funds for both publishers and developers.
Nintendo will do as they please, as usual, defying all reasonable odds and break all conventions such as life cycles of their products.
In their fans eyes, they can do no wrong, and they will buy their products even if the customer base already has several 'similar' products by that company.
It's called loyalty, and even if they have crappy titles, ppl will buy it simply to say "well I have one - you don't" . .
That ...
You're not wrong there mate.
They do try some 'risky' ventures, that's for sure, and this being so steeped in actual crime investigation, and less in being 'just another shooter', and having NO MP aspect,it certainly will be 'testing the waters' as they say with gamers of the last few generations.
The next one off the ranks will be Max Payne, which they grabbed from Remedy Games a few years ago. Some of the screen stills look g...
Actually, nothing outside a proper new IP would do - on average, any new game from conception to release can be between 4-7 yrs, with the average time period being 'approx' 5 yrs from first concept.
It takes a full 6 - 10 months JUST to run up a promo and present it to publishers, and then once a publisher is found, a further several months working on contractual ideas and how the game will progress.
Charlton Heston's 1950 version was true noire styled movie, you want to check it out. Lots of darkness and lightness throughout the movie that really shows off the noire style well.
Article also includes full list of PS3 Trophies and Xbox Achievements, and huge Q&A from Rockstar Games and twitter fans.
This is shaping up brilliantly. Who's looking forward to this?
Bioware are putting out some amazing games, not just Mass Effect 3 and the DLC for Mass Effect 2. So for ANY development house, certain things need to take a backseat in order for them to focus more on AAA items in their lineup.
That's not to say they do not care about their previous games or frnachises, but the main teams are focused on upcoming titles, NOT DLC.
That's leftto a differentteam/division.
It's how ALL development hou...
everyone loves a good card game, no matter what kind of gamer one might be. So it's great to see this finally get the upgrade it needs to reflect current online gameplay.
Looks great actually.
WHo's played it so far?
110% agree there mate, some games I'll never finish because they are not 'doing it for me' as they say.
But when I'm feeling like a change of pce, I will stick one of the lesser games in, and break the pattern from great games, so that I appreciate them when I go back to them - if that makes sense?
Like you Baka-aka, I do not worry about achievements etc, just the fun of the game.
I've played Ace Combat through 6 times now, have I finished it - well - no, as there's still 2 aircraft to be awarded, and same goes with Forza 3, while I have it 98% finished, I still play it regularly.
I'll pop Medal Of Honor in just to have another go, same with Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 etc etc.
Some just blur through games just so they ca...
Much the same, although, I do keep 95% of all my games, both last gen, and this gen.
But the numbers I get this gen are far less than last-gen.
SO I invest more time into specific titles, looking for better times, more ways through levels, different eways of attacking the game etc.
If a developer has put 2-4 yrs into a game on such huge levels, how can one finish (cough cough) a game in around 4-6 hours time???
I think Battlefield 3 will tip the scales, especially when you view Crysis 2 and Battlefield 3 on a large screen in HD.
The Battlefield 3 gameplay just jumps out at you, while the Crysis 2, while great, lacks certain clarity in some of the smoke and debris filled air sections, especially when you've played the game going over the bridge early on in the game.
Sure, on a top end PC Crysis 2 looks amazing, but then again, Battlefield 3 would eclipse that whe...
