Unfortunately, Nintendo are arrogant, especially at the upper levels of their management and operational heads.

They are not scared to say that if ppl want their product, then they’ll have to pay for it, nor are they scared to break all convention, and recreate consoles and handhelds every few years, even though their target audience finds it hard to even keep up with the changing hardware cycles, let alone the games to fit those systems.

They know their dieh...

Well, if we get any 'extra' review codes for XBLA, then we'll let ppl know, just slip us an email from the site and we'll add you to the list. We simply draw a name from the hat, and send out the code . . . sometimes we get a few codes for the same game, so we like to share them around when we can.

Anyone's welcome to drop us an email asking to go on the "Excess XBLA/PSN Code List" at anytime.

An interesting concept for a game. When I originally saw footage and screens of this last year, I was wondering just where it was going, now it's good to see the final product.

Shame that the PC version is being held back till 17th August - for some reason. Ubisoft pulled the release of the PC version at the 11th hour . . be interesting to find out why??

The so-called prizes are simply XBLA/PSN codes to write articles about, so as mentioned, it's far less a 'competition' per-see than an encouragement to explore writing ones thoughts down in a manner that encourages open discussion.

Over the past 4 yrs, OXCGN has placed several Writer requests on n4g without any qualms whatsoever.

We're simply encouraging young or new writers to 'express themsleves', and in doing so, reward them.

It's less of a 'competition, than n investigation to find people willing to backup their comments they make on sites like n4g, GameGrep, Google One, Yahoo Buzz etc by actually writing something constructive.

Allow others the...

All's good mate, sounds fair to me, and yes, I get the cost factor, as here in Australia, even though OUR dollar is higher then the US Greenback, we STILL have to pay a premium for all our games, which start at $AU99, the up to $AU120 for the AAA top tier games.

So making sure you pick the right game is vital I agree.

I suppose I'm just tired of those who do rely soley on others to make their choices for them, then continue to complain about a game ev...

Ten points mate

Definitely mate, along with several others that have come out, along with some yet to emerge that have broken new ground, set new standards, and engaged gamers on new levels.

Why dont you try something and see if YOU LIKE IT, rather than rely on someone elses opinion of it, good or bad.

Almost every game or movie that I've been told to avoid at all cost, or read that it's def-not worth the purchase, I've found something great about it, or actually 'liked it' and played/viewed it with pleasure.

Stop sitting on the fence, try things for yourself and that way your OWN experience will tell you whether it is good, o...

Having seen the game up-close-n-personal, all I can say is, wow, anyone that has liked, loved or even thought about the series past or futre, is going to enjoy this.

Of course, there will be the moaners and complainers, there's never a game presented, no matter WHAT it is, that some will claim some seoret of foul or 'major fail' for something it really doesn't deserve.

There seems to be a generation of gamers out there that simply like to comp...

It did NOT say it will 'fail' - it is discussing the areas that it could find difficult to overcome within the industry like costs of development, certain parts of the hardware etc.

Seems one can write something about the Wii U, or the Xbox, but don't upset the fans by writing 'anything' about a Sony product.

OXCGN is writing an article on the PS4, suppose we're not allowed to do that either??

Wish there were some adul...

Well said, but of course as you know, that would require 'some' ppl actually reading something without blinkers on, or reading past the headline.

Thanks for the adult reply, unlike so many others. Bubbles

Well I suppose you'd best condemn GameInformer, GameSpot and other sites/mags, as they have their opinions about the costs, software development etc, because they are in the industry, and work within it, like the author, who's working in game development.

Are you?

That would require 'reading' mate

5442d ago 1 agree7 disagreeView comment

Not in Australia mate, the unit will be wellover $AU300. So cost IS a huge factor.

Actually, it's interesting tonote that the second Mana Bar, whiich was reported to be opening in Sydney, ended up in Melbourne, and will be opening this month (around mid-mointh I believe).

SOo it is good to see other activities like this and such things as the ana Bar opening and thriving in other Australian major cities.

As these are aimed at gamers, rather than media events. Which is a huge bonus for any gamer. Media will be attending of course, OXCGN ...

Me either, but it stems back to the earlier days of cabinet/coin-op gaming when it was basically the BIGGEST game in almost all gaming arcades.

I also don't see why this game was refused classification, when other games, and movies that contain similar if not worse content, are awarded MA 15+ certification.

5458d ago 0 agree1 disagreeView comment

it doesn't seem to be selling as well as they expected, which is probably also why THQ have shed team members from the development team.

Shame really.

But then again, gamers these days are a very fickled bunch, and turn on a whim if they feel OTHERS aren't buying or playing a game. Seems many have no self-experimentation abilities, and rely on the words of others to make choices, silly really. As that's no way to live a life.

I think it's something you have to love, as it does seem a tad predicable and somewhat 'samey' in parts.
