If Ubi go the way Ace Combat did, and include a great deal of DLC, and use their current Ubi Network which they have set up, they could have a decent community gathering, which is what helps support these genres between iterations.
Forza is the perfect example. While the game has been out now since Oct last year, it is still hugely followed on Live as well as the actual community.
Ubisofts community network which they have set up for all of their games could ...
Perhaps one of the best games in it's genre this year, and with more DLC on the way, this one only adds more to the original game.
I grabbed it, and will play it once I'm able to, as I like tio have extra content added to enhance a game further, and to branch out the story arc.
Definately, that's the whole thing, cut yourself off from external stimulus, such as wear some great surround headphones etc, and you will hear a great deal more, even more than a room setup can do.
When talking with the MD of Remedy games while he was here, you could see and hear the passion these guys put into this game over the last 5 - 6 yrs. It is in the finer details, the nessecity to have the environment move and be part of the gameplay by adding that element of a...
When playing it at a Alan Wake function in Sydney, I found that I was dodging left and right when being attacked, or dodging out of the way when hatchets were being thrown at me.. I was backing off in the chair and other similar antics.
I thought, pffft I'm a bit of a pussy . . then sitting back down to have some food at the place that the event was held at, others helped themselves to the 10 360's that had been set up with nice large HDTV and headphones through out t...
Probably one of the best game out thus far this year on the 360. It would be great to share this on the PS3 as well, for those that loved games like Uncharted 1-2, Heavy Rain, this would be right up their alley.
While Heavy Rain is not so much an action game, but a mind game (if one can call it a 'game') it still have a solid storyline, as does Alan Wake.
I watched ppl play it, and they all react in the same way. They become immersed in it rapidly, ye...
I think developers are now looking at appealing to the new generation of gamers, making their games more accessible to all, not 'just' those that have been ardent players for years.
While many liked the cell-shaded stylised game last outing, it was shown it did not sell as they hoped it would, because of that and other areas, such as puzzel difficulty in some places.
SO if you had a dev studio, and saw that the last outing didn't do well because o...
Just did NOT like the road they went down last time with the Cell-shadded Prince.
It was just too much of a step away from the franchise.
SO I'm glad to see it finally getting back to what it is supposed to be.
It's now using the advanced Assassin's Creed 2 engine, and it performs brilliantly in my opinion.
The looks are great, and the cutscenes are well crafted. Naturally, like all games, it's not perfect, bu...
Couldn't agree more, and also the newest hit thing 3D gaming - shudder. 2K games have just signed up NVIDIA for the use of its PhysX and 3D Vision technology into 2K Czech’s Illusion Engine™. Mafia II
They are the first, and won't be the last. Now with Motion control and so-called 3D, gaming as we once knew it will change dramatically, and not for all the right reasons.
No way Natal or MOVE can imitate a full on FPS experience that lasts 2 hours of m...
Persoanlly I think a Mana Bar in Sydney would 'rock' . . the market for one here is just waiting to be tapped. Any Black Beta night run by IGN can attest to that. Often with a line-up heading up the street just to get in for one game.
Their Old Skool Game night was a blast last year, and if that was any indication, then a Mana Bar in Sydney, around Surry Hills, Paddington, or even Potts Point would just bring the ppl in.
Def going to check those out while in the States, that is for sure!!! The huge number of games already available for it is amazing, and there's such a huge support for it from both developers and publishers.
Plus they are a little cheaper in the States, so long as you do not get the 3G model, as then you're stuck into yet another data package with another carrier.
When I'm in the States, I may look at one of these, as while mobile gaming doesn't do it for me all that much, being able to simply veg out on simple "games" is appealing.
Many modern AAA titles are somewhat complex in comparison, and do require more dedicated time.
So mobile gaming certainly appeals to the attention-deficet crown which is the "Y-Generation" - that's for sure.
Competition is essential in any market. I know that from personal experience. I once had a small company that made a product - and the competition pushed me out of business, bought up all the stock and increased its prices - it was the only company supplying product for BOTH products.
It is now out of business because customers simply would NOT pay the rates they asked.
Competition is VITAL to any business, no matter what it is.
If all goes well, they could be opening more in other states.
I prefer this to those terrible gaming cafes that have no personality or atmosphere.
At least with places like this, you get to meet and speak with other gamers, play the games socially, while enjoying a few drinks in a well appointed venue.
Plus the place also hold "release nights" - which is great for getting games out to the public on rel;ease days, or early playdates for...
after spending considerable time with the editor of Gizmodo re the 3D issue in gaming and movies, and seeing their technical specs and expert appraisals from none gamers and also developers, I can honestly see that 3D in gaming is a long way off before it's a core element.
Several of us sat around recently contemplating this very issue, compiling our thoughts and discussions with various high level devel heads. And almost all agree, that putting 3D "on top' of a ...
Look, they could keep on delaying this game indefinately if they wanted to ad every new tech idea that came up.
Which is WHY the devl should simply produce the game to the followers and have done with it, then begin work on the following.
It's how 'normal' development studios work.
If each studio waited until a game was 'perfect' or allowed each one to have the 'latest big things' then we'd have no games on the...
The game is appearing on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC this iteration . . Cryteck said they'll not be doing single platform focused games, but supply the games built for each platform to broaden their market.
So you can rely on it appearing on the platform of your choice - finally.
This is the type of game you could sink literally hours upon hours into without even noticing.
While it did front in the US late last year, we in this side of the globe had to wait until now to get our hands on it, and this is one I'll be grabbing to simply slowly work my way through.
Rare's stuff is most likely all connected to Project Natal rather than other games some may be interested in.
That has been their main focus since Natal was brought into the scene.
But it will be interesting to see what some of the un-mentioned games they have lined up are.
I believe Hitman is in development, but not sure as to what level it is up to at this time.
It would be perfect for the current generation of games, and be an ideal holiday season addition this christmas.
There are a few mystery games to be announced, but dev/pub are keeping mum about those.
Well it is one of those games that requires some thinking, as well as exploration, something many younger gamers don't have time or the willingness to do with games these days, thus missing out on what could arguably be one of their best gaming experiences.
Any content that is made available to extend a game further is worthy of being included in ones HDD I think.
