Like the recent THQ's Urgent Mail from Korean Embassy, in a US Mail courier satchel which had a Korean Occupied America propaganda booklet inside.

My house guest was terribly concerned, as she did not know what it was that I'd gotten myself into, and was very uncertain as to its origins.

It did look very official and genuine indeed, and it did have me looking more than once at the satchel and accompanying booklete and marked - "Urgent Documentati...

When yousee the huge creations that were once dished out to the media, you become somewhat envious of those days.

BUt changed needed to happen, and this last Halo outing will certainly prove to be very profitable for both publishers and retailers alike.

The numbert of 'collectors edition' on both the 1st-gen and following 360 far surpass the efforts of playstation publishers during those periods.

Not to say they are any less desirable...

Ahh, but the aim of the Kinect is as a bundle, the entire unit, X360 S and Kinect and one Kinect game is $US495 (or $450? not sure), making it a very viable item for the newer, family gamer.

When you ad up the cost of say the 4 hand units for a Move game requiring 2 units per person, then it comes into perspective . . .

AGain, these items, Kinect and Move specifically, are aimed at acquiring NEW customers rather than adding to existing customer base.

110% correct, noo ones saying, hey gamers, YOU need to buy this. What its saying is, stop the hate and see WHY there's such new tech becoming available, that is of course, if you want to see more games made in the distant future.

It reminds me of the old "head in the sand" thing . . .

The writer above takes it personally and does not READ the article or how it is written, simply sees words in a title and 'assumes' the worst.

But you see, that's it in a nut shell, the whole idea of Kinect (Move etc) is not aimed at you, but at a completely different market, but "gamers' take it onboard as if it is aimed at them specifically.

The games made for Kinect won't suit the core gamer, but they will suit the family members who simply want something different for the family to be involved in as a unit.

NOt as individuals or even in groups over Live/PSN for that matter.

Just have to love exclusive content, and you watch both sides go nuts over the fact the fact there is such content available to one, but not the other.

Each gets its own form of exclusive content, but I especially love the viral marketing they are doing, which is also in the information presented such as Tape It Or Die . . .

I do wish some gamers would look past what they think things like Kinect are, and see the 'bigger picture' . .but it seems many can't. Sad really, because if we want more new games that core gamers can play unveted, then we NEED such things as Kinect and Move and dare I say, even 3D gaming, even if it will cause many side effects with gamers.

There's heaps of game on the XBLA and PSN that don't get their fair share of promotion.

Due mainly to the fact the dev through either Sony or Microsoft try and keep costs down enough for the developer to make some money, enabling them to continue making more games.

The 3 main platforms are making great inroads into the casual gamer market, and it's more the hardcore gamer that doesn't look for these games until they are released, whereas the c...

PPl's game tastes have changed as one person pointed out, but some publishers push developers to stay with tried-and-proved formular, in the hope that the name alone will sell, not the actual game its self.

We've seen that happen many times in the past, and it certainly won't stop any time soon, that's for sore.

I'm a bit the same actually, but I still enjoy any FPS war -sim they put out, and take each game on it's 'own' merits.

That aside, I was very very impressed with the physics of the Special ops: The Line when it was shown off at E3.

It certainly turned my head, and my attention from Hmmm, another one - no probs . . . to . . . koooolll, this has just shot up the Must-have-list" sort of thing.

So I'm with you on that on...

YEs, the same pack is also avail in EU, but again, limited numbers, but the info here is for the limited number that will be available in Aust ONLY, just 2100 all up, that's 700 per platform .. . . from the 3 main retailers, EB GAmes (there's a local number to call to get the pre-order in article) and then GAME and JB Hi-Fi.

I agree, I have no idea why so many complain about these things, it's not as if the Publisher is forcing ppl to buy these. If you don't want it, don't like the figurines etc, then do NOT BUY IT - !

Simple solution, but for those who do like "collectables" - and these ARE REAL Collectables, as there's just 2100 in Australia, then the money being asked is well worth it in the long term.

It's not as if THQ via Capcom are only making...

So long as fake blood doesn't come spurting out, I'm fine, hey, you can rip Barbies head off, but no one makes much fuss over that, so why worry about some zombie's head lol.

Man I want one of these, and they are ONLY available in Australia, and there's ONLY just 700 of them per platform (360, PS3 and PC) that's just 2100 units Australia wide.

Jump on the phone boys-n-girls details are in the article as well.

There is another the same available for EU as well, but this is for Australia gamers, as they were left out of the EU availability . . . so please don't can this, it's here to notify Aussie gamers more than a...

We will see a Hitman iteration soon enough, but the two games are vastly different anyhow. Each game has it's good and bad points of course, but I can see this particular 'mode' in Kane & Lynch 2 being one of the most popular on XboxLive and other online services.

Many diehard fans of such games as Modern Warfare 2 and Halo er=tc will of course complain, but it will be nice for some other game to come along and shack the foundations a little.

Not sure if you have played the game yet, seeing it has yet to be released, or had a chance to get down-n-dirty with the Multiplayer side of things, because if you had, you'd see it's not simply a clone of MW2 or Halo etc etc.

Sure, all games have similarities, it would be almost impossible these days to come up with a completely new and innovative gameplay mechanic. In fact, I'd find it almost impossible to believe any developer could say they have, especially af...

From what I 'believe' - yes, there is one coming, and I certainly hope so.

The last was a pure blast. Have played that game through completely 6 times, on the 7th now.

And have all but 2 aircraft from the entire DLC and unlocked fleet.

I'm only hoping that HAWX 2 can lift its bar a little more than the last. While it was good, it seemed very strange that you could not do a barrel roll while in the cockpit mode or similar normal fl...

According to the review, someone that has played it, it seems they have, and the huge improvement in Multiplayer needs are great. Showing you need to team up more, much like in Left 4 Dead 1-2 etc.

Plus many of the old issues aren't there now, and there's a reasonable story line to it now, that you can follow - or not, what ever suits the player.

Shame ppl can't read reviews these days (no offense to you of course, just others)

Well it is an xbox 360 1st party title, no wonder it's being trolled by 'certain' factions of n4g.

And seeing the game only came out of strict embargo at 11pm AEST, (5.30am PST), and NOT been played by these so calle gamers, then I find it difficult for anyone other than those who were given the code last week (MS allotted the code to sites via a PR company) to be able to know whether or nt the game is better or worse than the first game, or how it even plays.

5822d ago 2 agree1 disagreeView comment

We could certainly do with it, that's for sure. It's only viable for the BYOC crowd though, as console gamers are a weak bunch really, no real-world competative spirit, just online secreative style where you can bad mouth your opponent or jump out if the going gets too tuff.

OXCGN tried to organize several with nice sizable $$ prizes, do you think console owners would come, nope.
