I'm sorry, I'm also 'over' Gears Of War, same as Halo. Just because one supports a platform, does NOT mean you support or like all the games on that platform.
While Gears has been great in its own right, it really has never been a standout for me - unlike say Assassin's Creed series or even the Fable series.
It will have to have had a huge jump forward from the current iteration when it is finally released in Nov 2011, otherwise it will be...
While that is true of E3, it is also not . .one of those catch-22 situations. With E3, you can get in if you're willing to pay the ticket price of around $US400 (+-), and that is for non-media attendees.
Plus there are usually 2 sections at E3's booths, one behind closed doors for most of the publishers where invite only media is allowed, and they mean 'invite only' . . just because you're part of a media group, does not mean you get into behind closed do...
AHHHH, do read the entry text and even the heading . .the article and review is aimed directly at someone new getting into MOVE with the MOVE Starter Pack which includes the games reviewed, the hardware needed, and how that favours to the reviewer.
Sheesssss, do ppl read at all on n4g? You want the reviewer to do every game that supports MOVE in less that 1500 words, that's basically impossible.
Wen you see some of the games that Ubisoft have been working on over the last 3 yrs for Kinect, you might be a bit surprised actually.
Someone I know has had the opportunity to play some of them, most of them not having much exposure yet, and he/she was very anti-Kinect at the beginning, even though being a strong Xbox platform supporter.
Their attitude has changed a lot since that experience.
And again, for those that only read what they wan...
We've tried it, it'll do 4 nicely with full body recognition, expect a full hardware review on that come mid November when our embargos are lifted.
Suffice to say, BOTH offer distinct advantages, and disadvantages to each other.
@ RedEyeMoneyMaker :
I disagree, both have their strong and weak points. Both offer different levels of interaction, and both are aimed at slightly different markets, to some degree.
KINECT is not trying to add the functionality to existing games, games are being built for it from the ground up. MOVE games are doing that to, ut as pointed out, they are for a different style of gamer than the hardcore gamer who might want FPS functionality etc.
We played Rez 5 at E3 this year, the author of his article did in fact, and it was NOT the best thing to demonstrate MOVE on - at the time - that's for sure.
As we'll have further detailed reviews of specific MOVE games, (Sony are supplying OXCGN with the games btw ppl - they are supporting an Xbox site because we're NOT biased) and will have access to a finished Res 5, Killzone 3 etc games once re-released or released.
At the time (E3) the aiming...
@ deadreckoning666 ;
Actually, that was just one of the 3 areas of the Move hardware, they were as follows,
• 9/10 for the MOVE controller,
• 7/10 for the Playstation Eye and the
• 5/10 was for the Move Navigation Controller, as it is really not necessary for the gamer to have, and has it's own issues and limitations.
So taking that last 5/10 out of context is not the way to quote something...
Agreed, I suppose if you have had lots of experience with FPS, and don't mind just going from start to finish as fast as possible, then most games can have short play-cycles.
BLACK was much the same, some giving it a little as 5 hrs, with one guy on one forum stating he could do it in 2hrs, 57min and 34 secs, seriously, he timed it.
Thing was, how did he do that, and obviously he missed the WHOLE point of the game, enjoyment, not a land speed record.
I'm a Singleplayer type of guy, and thought that all the talk of it just being a short SP game would put me off, but my 'experience' of it is the opposite.
Plus, I was really sceptical of the online singleplayer Tier 1 section, but am finding out it's very much like the Forza 3 time-trial leaderboards. Where racers, in this case individuals, try to scrap off tenths, or thousands of seconds off a particular section of the game.
Giving the game ...
You can pick it up cheap enough now if you simply do some good shopping around, Grab it from overseas, as there are places that will give you great conversion rates right now so that the buyer gets a great deal, and still gets a game that has all the registration codes for multiplayer access and the beta access for Battlefield 3.
Get it secondhand and you miss out on those mate.

Me too, I only wish there were less games to b...
I agree, there has been NO talk of the fact that the singleplayer mode of the game has the Taliban in it, but only the Mulitplayer side.
If it was because of the use of the word Taliban its self, then the entire use of it across the board in the game would be at question.
In order to have authentisity, one needs to follow the history, be that current or past, in order to has some continuity with the relevant times.
Look at Gearbox Studios, wh...
These games, and the inclusion of zombies in everything from westerns to WWII is just going over the top to cater to a dumbified audience, nothing more.
The game could have no story, be poor graphically, and be identical to previous ones, so long as you can kill zombies - not what I call innovative or even a proper follow-up game to be honest.
I'm sorry, while it's a good game overall, I'm just over zombies . . . . the storyline in the game matter very little in fact, as 90% of gamers who love the game simply want to kill zombies and go mad on the co-op side of the game.
Gets boring very quick, but then again, each to their own as they say.
I believe in calling a spade, a spade.
WHile the Taliban is currently at war with the west, so to is Korea to some extent, as it has constant friction with both its neighbours and the west. Yet the game, 'Homefront' which shows Korea invading and occupying the US, has not even raised a headline over the issue.
Most, if not all of these 'controversial' issues are brought up by ppl that really have no idea about the situation, but want to speak...
Personally I'm in favour of character change, 'so long as it is in line with the stories progress' . . . such as Metal Gear Solid, as Snake gets older and more weathered, in Splinter Cell (conviction) where Sam Fisher is no longer the undercover op wearing his nightvision glasses but has turned into a weathered and frustrated victim, out to avenge the death of his daughter, and get back at the company that forced him to kill one of his closest friends.
The storyli...
Just not my cuppa-tea sorry. While some Comic Jumper aficionados would jump at the chance (no pun intended) to grab this, it just seems to be lacking 'something' What do others think?
Sometimes I think there's just too much 'average' stuff coming to PSN and XBLA these days.
Heheheheh, actually, check the Civilization V Addict video in the article/review, funny as, and almost laughably real actually.
It's a hoot, have you seen it yet?
I've seen R.U.S.E being used with Microsoft's 'Surface Technology', and for any strategy game, it would be brilliant.
I think in due course, developers will hone their ability to work on consoles more and more when it comes to such games, as some have proven that it can be done, and done well.
That's not taking anything away from the great game this is and that it's on a PC, but if it was to come to the consoles, I'm wondering IF i...
It's not an 'expansion per-see, but a stand-alone game running from the earlier one, with a completely different story-arc and also has a different RPG manner to it. Having played a little of it so far, it's something that could take up a considerable amount of time if you wanted to really get into it.
Some gamers are into the 'quick-fix' style of gaming these days, so it's a 50/50 chance for a dev/publisher to put a lengthy RPG out, especially a Weste...
