Sure, I don't disagree that the game was barebones at launch and that people expect and deserve more. However that is not the case currently. Every single aspect of the original launch got expanded and the game is in a very solid place in terms of content. With more to come in the horizon.

So, yes.The launch was less than what it could have been. But the game as it is right now deserve it's success.

This is a extremelly old (September 30, 2019). I'm suprised it wasn't previously submitted here.

Some stuff that it talk about is not really true anymore. While others are completely fake like this bit about Steam DRM:

"On Steam, DRM is set in stone: you buy a game, and you need to have Steam open to run it. If you don’t have an internet connection, that’s fine, because Steam has an offline mode."

It's not set in s...

It's a weird case really. The complain on the PC side is that you can't upgrade from the normal edition to the Ultimate edition. Even though both games are the exactly same - same content, same visual settings, etc.... However that could just be treated as a GOTY Edition with a lower price point and all the DLC included.

On the consoles, things are a bit more muddly. Technically all the upgrades of the Ultimate edition are already baked into the game (the PC version...

Both the PS5 and the Series X should have more than enough power to run that on true 4k/60fps. It's a cross gen title and Bamco was never particularly know for pushing hardware limits.

It's surprising how well this game is doing there days. With 3.3 M concurrent players and more than 1 M units sold on Steam alone.

And they don't see to be stopping support any time soon. Really a far cry from what it was at launch.

Yeah, it's exactly what the Japanese impressions talked about. The gameplay it's mediocre and the lack of fanservice also hurts it.

Honestly I hope that sort of game move to the Switch going forward. So at least one aspect of them will remain solid.

The dude was apparently a ass. But it is sort of sad to see that with that. Both creators of the IP will not have anything to do with anymore.

Nobody will buy the console at launch because of Yakuza. To be honest I doubt there are many who buy consoles at launch because of a specific game.

However Yakuza is still one of the biggest names on the consoles at launch. So those that buy the device might as well as pick it up. What in turn helps foster a playerbase to a franchise that is still new in the platform.

How exactly would it be popular with Xbox players if the series wasn't on Xbox until literally 6 months ago?

Yes, the playerbase is on Playstation. That is a given they had more than a decade to foster a fanbase there. Meanwhile the Xbox playerbase is full of new potential costumers. Hence why Yakuza: Like A Dragon have a big opportunite to penetrate a the market.

For any multiplat is better well... to be on multiple platforms. That means more play...

Without Halo, this is likely the biggest launch game for the SX/S. So it's a pretty good chance to find new players on the platform.

I don't think they will though. Because that would put the Switch Lite in a very awkward position.

What I do think they are going to go for is a "New Switch" in 2021. With higher clocks, more memory and more storage. Not exactly to make the device more competitive, but to inject more life into the brand.

If anything it should be more expensive to produce. But Sony will likely price them the same.

Though there wasn't a whole thing about the PS5 SSD capacity being linked to it's access optimizations? That wouldn't fly with a 2TB SSD.

Well, yes?

Bilibili just got the rights for the mobile version. Meanwhile there is no word on ports for the XOne or Switch.
That said the mobile version is likely to be China only.

Going by the development period of Infinite chances are that it was supposed to be a XOne game and then latter got pushed to the Series X because of obvious reasons.

What point to that is the lack of any next gen feature in Infinite at launch. Meanwhile the visuals were somewhat more simple than HALO 5, but it's supposed to be open world game running on 60 FPS 1080p on the Xbox One S. So the result was what we saw. A fine game for this generation of hardware. But lackin...

You can already play it without the motion controllers though. Fans made it happen to PC and it works well enough. I imagine that a official HD version would do it even better. Maybe including both methods of input. So I don't see it as a problem.

"and Skyward Sword goes so far against what the original Breath of the Wild does that the two games can feel like they're from different franchises. "

That is true. But that is because Breath o...

Well, Neptunia games are normally very tame so they will probably managed to pass through PS's policys without much of problem. Though again Death end re;Quest from the same devs was also very tame, but they ended up with censored transformations in the sequel.

Yeah, they took their sweet time with this one. But if it was in order to make the game run better, that is more than fine in my books.

28% off for the owners of the first one and 20% off for everybody else. You also don't need to have played the first to understand this one, though it's recommended. And Fanatical is offering the first one for U$12 with the Deluxe pack (ost, wallpapers and art book).

@TheRealTedCruz

Yeah, but at the same time is highly possible. Crossfire is after all a juggernaut of gaming franchise whose revenue is comparable to that of EA's FIFA. So it would be extremely surprising if Microsoft get the publishing rights for PC.

Though who knows. Maybe they get a deal for a NA launch similar to Phantasy Star Online 2.

If they really want to make another remake after FFVII. I think they should go for the first two. They are by far the most basic of the games in the franchise and there is a lot that could be expanded without alienating older fans.

Another good one would be The Final Fantasy Legend. It's more accessible than the NES games, but it have so much more to be expanded. With it's diferent worlds and the hub design of the tower. Not to mention that the plot itself is super ...
