The good thing about the VCS is that even if it fails. The people that have one will not lose much. As they can just use it as a computer.
That said, I would still not recommend getting one.
@Ricegum
Oh definitely, but that will likely take a while to start happening. And will take even more time before the prices make those services not worthwhile. If it ever hits that point.
Yeah and getting even more value out of services like Game Pass and EA Access.
"Where are any games for this? "
Anything that runs on Linux being native or using Proton/Wine should run on it. So somewhere around 12k games or so should be playable.
"What does this do that the others don't? "
Well, this thing is a full fledge computer where you can even run Windows if you so desire. Therefore it does so much more than a game console that I would not even know from where to begin.

Just play the original. It's cheaper (currently $2.49), it works and you don't have to deal with EGS.
Six very disgusting ideas. Taking out infomation from the web and giving power to silence people. Yes, that is what we need on a world were the publications are already so trustworthy.
I feel they need to give more information for those numbers to have any meaning. Like how much of grow it was when compared with previous year or how much of those CCUs are playing what, etc..
It's for folks that don't want to fork that much money, but still want to be part of the next gen. Because contrary to the PS5 DE, this supposed Series S would be much cheaper even without Microsoft to subsidy. A Bluray drive like the one in the PS5 is only $20 - $30 at the end of the day.
Would it cripple development? As long as they use the same tech to power it's storage access it's unlikely. Because other than that, everything can be downsized without i...
The point was for current PS4 owners with a big physical library. Because unless Sony create a validation method were your physical copy translate into a digital one. Your collection would be "lost". That said. I find it a rather silly take because there is a version with a physical drive available. If Sony had ditched it all together then I would agree with the author. But that is not the case.
A better argument would be that for the sake of preservation. The di...
Again. I'm not saying the game is bad.
What I'm saying is that it's quality doesn't really matter for the score. Because most publications wouldn't dare to give it a low score anyway. And you don't have to believe me, just go take a look for yourself. The most critical reviews are unscored .
Unfortunately that ship already sailed. And if Microsoft want to compete they will have to do the same.
Every fanbase have it's faithful bunch. The point is convincing the ones that are not part of that group though.
PC is my main gaming platform, but I will likely get either the PS5 or the Series X now that I have a good living room. It only depend on what of those two system will give me the best deal. As I don't have any nostalgia for either brand.
And Sony will burn money if that means moving consoles. I don't think they will let a PS3 happe...
I'm not saying that it's a bad game or that it doesn't deserve it's rating. But the chance of a The Last of Us getting a low score is basically zero, very few reviwers would have the balls to deal with the backlash of a low score.
I mean big 3rd party games. Like what Sony did with Bethesda.
Basically show off games. But with a greater focus on their internal teams, maybe get some deals rolling with third party devs for time exclusives like Sony did.
What they should not do is reveal the price. Because Sony will definetely undercut them.
It was fine.
The games they revealed were cool, Ratchet & Clank in particular looks funny as heck. However I would be lying if I said that anything there was jaw dropping and made me go "wow next gen".
The console design was something else though. I personally didn't like it one bit and feel it's gonna get old pretty terribly. But it was bold and different.
It's likely not ulta settings. More often the recommended settings are for med/high.
They are probably getting there. The Linux and Mac version was already killed off by them.
And there is a speculation that a new version of RL will be released on the EGS with the Overwatch 2 aproach. Meaning that Steam users would still be able to play multiplayer, but not get all the new stuff.
Looks like a solid port. Three years old components for the recommended settings/60fps.
They sort of did. On the original pitch they made it pretty clear that it would play old and new PC games. Would feature their Atari Vault for classic games and should be compatible with any PC application.
The issue is that somehow as time went, the narrative got distorted to the VCS being a console. I have no idea if that was Atari themselves or just the internet/media. But this is not really console, it's a mini-pc. And it would be a pretty cool mini-pc if the price...
