Yeap. It doesn't help that this sort of SSD (Nvme PCI 4.0) is already expensive on computers - about $200 for 1TB.
So I hope that Microsoft either subsidize their cards in order to bring cost down to us consumers. Or at least use the current market prices for them.
The games on the Onee Chanbara franchise are much more fun than they have any right to be. They look like fan-service with violence. And while they are pretty much like that, the combo system is fun as heck to use.
Indeed it does.
The only impact that we should expect is lower resolutions and/or toned down effects here and there. But with the same CPU and SSD speed, things should run smoothly without giving developers a headache.
The SSD size is a bit of bummer. As realistic speaking we are talking about 470 GB of storage. What isn't really that much. But as long as Microsoft don't pull a PS Vita and ask a ridiculous amount of money for those "SSD cards" ...
Just amazing value on this one.
If it keeps both the SSD speed and the CPU, the only real downgrade would be the GPU. That would translate on lower resolution and toned down effects. But the core experience of any given game shouldn't be affect.
Meanwhile the price is just right for anyone that want to enter the next gen without spending too much or for using it like a secondary console. Plus lateral markets like South America will be very happy with it.
We don't really know how demanding RT is on any given console, because AMD have yet to show how their technology handles the load. But it's safe to assume that will be used to a lesser extend than the Series X or PS5.
But going for what was show so far with the technique on consoles. If those two feature reflections on both water puddles and metal objects. The Series S likely only have for the latter and stuff like that.
Pretty much. But at this point this is already part of the course for this place, so it's hard to care. Plus is sort of funny to behold.
Likely. The three first Personas don't really play like what most people assume to be standard for the franchise.
Plus they are much older games that would require a far more extensive work in order to fit into modern systems.
That said. I would love to see a remaster of them though. Similar to P4G, these games are stuck on older hardware PSP and PSONE and while they don't have the features that one would expect out of Persona. They have some solid gameplay...
Teraflops numbers lose meaning when you are comparing different architecture. That has always been the case.So comparing TF between the RTX 3000 series and the new consoles is indeed quite useless.
That said comparisons between the PS5 and XSXs' GPUS. Do have much more ground to stand on. Even though they are not the be all and end all of real world performance.
Yeap, companies can't get too confortable or it is us that suffer.
Just look at the PS3 early days or Microsoft original pitch for the XOne for examples of that.
I don't know if killing is the right word here. Because as consoles they already have different sector of the market for themselves - at least in the west. The performance and especially the prices of both the 3070 and 3080 might have made some people that were on the fence about upgrading their computers or buying the new consoles, decide for the first.
And then you have the "smaller markets" like Asia - outside Japan. Where those new cards might make the con...
What I found really funny about Nintendo fan base. Is that they are rather self aware that they are being taken for a ride. But they often just shrug.
So Nintendo keep doing it.
Going by how popular the Souls series is on computers. I would say that both Bloodborne and Demon's Souls would be tremendously successful on the platform.
Spiderman would likely follow that success. Meanwhile the rest of the games would be similar to Horizon Zero Dawn. So pretty good, but not amazing.
That is for Steam though. If they went with Epic is hard to say how well it would really sell. But with Epic guaranteed sales, their numbers would als...
You should wait for more in-deep analysis. Because as you are rocking a Intel based system the RTX 3090 would be forced to run in a PCI 3.0 slot and we are yet to find out how much of a performance impact that will cause as it was designed for PCI 4.0.
It's unlikely that it would run poorly though. But depending on how big of a impact it is, it might also not be worth the upgrade.
I mean Microsoft themselves said that Game Pass boosted sales. And even if you don't trust first party statements - what would be very funny given your own second statement - there is also a third party reporting the same:

That is because the developers created their own ID system to manage the crossplay. But that is not a viable alternative to a indie game like this one.
Not really. If this crossplay use EOS and the work in the similar style of Killing Floor 2 crossplay. Then it will require Steam users (and only Steam users) to create a Epic Games Store account and log into said account in order to use it.
So it's basically Epic using Steam users in order to inflate their own store user numbers.
Sure, I don't disagree that the game was barebones at launch and that people expect and deserve more. However that is not the case currently. Every single aspect of the original launch got expanded and the game is in a very solid place in terms of content. With more to come in the horizon.
So, yes.The launch was less than what it could have been. But the game as it is right now deserve it's success.
This is a extremelly old (September 30, 2019). I'm suprised it wasn't previously submitted here.
Some stuff that it talk about is not really true anymore. While others are completely fake like this bit about Steam DRM:
"On Steam, DRM is set in stone: you buy a game, and you need to have Steam open to run it. If you don’t have an internet connection, that’s fine, because Steam has an offline mode."
It's not set in s...
It's a weird case really. The complain on the PC side is that you can't upgrade from the normal edition to the Ultimate edition. Even though both games are the exactly same - same content, same visual settings, etc.... However that could just be treated as a GOTY Edition with a lower price point and all the DLC included.
On the consoles, things are a bit more muddly. Technically all the upgrades of the Ultimate edition are already baked into the game (the PC version...
It's priced at $300 while offering the same CPU and SSD speed as it's more powerful brother. It uses modern hardware to deliver the lower entry point for next generation of games. All while being cheaper than both the PS4 and XOne at launch - And those consoles used a low tier hardware even for the time.
I mean you can think it's value is not that good. But for many, including myself it's just amazing.
