It was not "their detailed like for like on settings" though. They were just talking over what The Coalition had showed in the stream. Especifically the Series X running the benchmark on Ultra (without any of the improvements) against a PC with a RTX 2080, Threadripper 2950X and 64GB of RAM.
And their conclusion was that the Xbox Series X GPU was on par with a RTX 2080. Followed by: "And the best part is just two weeks old code". And that was all in marc...
"Regarding the series x enhancements, in fairness, the PC launch was a while ago now, so this probably just represents the latest patch that will arrive on PC too."
My point was how well the Series X was running the game. Not really if the enhancements will be exclusive to it or will be releasing on PC.
"Not mentioning the series s resolution figure seems odd - they just say "lower resolution". Options are good, so I guess we sho...
This is impressive, but not really something that useful for most people. However the improvements being shipped to the Series X version are really something. That 1.5x the number of particles when compared with PC on Ultra settings in particular is rather surprising for something running on 4K/60fps.
Just to illustrate on the current PC ultra settings a GTX 2080 TI + i9-9900K @ 5.0 GHz manage a average of 55 fps on 4K.

Pretty much. However the numbers themselves are rather good. 12 seconds to load The Outer Worlds is a bit faster than what my EVO 970 manage to do (~14 s) - Just keep in mind that there is many other variables in place here, so I'm not affirming that one is better than the other. Only that it's a pretty good loading time.
I don't see how that would feasible. Halo as a franchise is just too big to get shelved in prol of something new. What they should have done is end Master Chief saga on Halo 4. And started with a new character/setting for the next one similar to what was done with Gears of War.
And I also think they sort of tried that with Locke in Halo 5. But with Chief being a fundamental part of the game.It didn't really worked.
@itsmebryan
It is a PS exclusive. But is not published or developed by Sony. They just bought the rights for the console exclusivity. Just like EPIC bought the rights for the PC exclusivity.
This is a Gearbox published game though. Not from Sony.
Sure, those two things are completely conected...
What I mean is that this not something like Showcases that we saw so far. What it is is a series of conversations were different members of the Xbox Team talk about their vision for the brand while providing information on the consoles.
The focus is not on game trailers, world premieres, etc... Things that you would see if this was direct for the end consumer.
Just a warning that this a press brifefing. Is meant to give information to the press not to the consumeres. So if you are looking for anything other than a giant PR talk. Look elsewhere.
Yeap, not to mention design itself. If a developer have to chose between offering better visuals or 120 fps. The visuals will win most of the time. And even for 60 fps that holds true.
A BD drive itself is between $20 and $30. So alone is not much of a cut.
As for the PS5. I'm really interested in seeing how much the SSD alone make up of the final price. Because Samsung tend to be on the pricier side of this sort of component.
They are being pretty clear about the Series S targeting 1440p though. The XOne X target 4K.
Nope.
It's a up to 1440p and/or up to 120 fps capable machine. Both 1440p and 120 fps would be pretty rare.
Only as a streaming service. That is a different market than what Game Pass for PC is targeting.
Their competition would be other streaming services. Like Shadow and GeForce Now
Only as a streaming. That is a different market than Game Pass for PC is.
That is a much more fair assessment than "has nothing else". However their focused marketing is because Game Pass is the real product for Microsoft. As I mentioned before, you can very well use your Xbox as a ordinary console as you been doing for the last decade or so. And you are probably going to get a much better experience than you would with their previous console. But that is not really what they are trying to sell you.
I agree in the sense that MS is pushing Game Pass to consumers, meanwhile Sony don't really give much of a push for their own service. But saying that they don't have nothing else is very delusional. The games are still being sold and are still selling well. They have more tittles in the horizon than they did in the whole of the last generation. They have more internal teams than they every did. And they are coming to next gen with both the most powerful entry point for next generatio...
Hard to say right now. Because I'm still waiting for a lot of pricing reveals for my country. But if the RTX 3070 is reasonably priced I will go with one of those.
At the same token. If the PS5 is well priced I will be getting one and a Series S to use with Game Pass. Now the Series X is only really a option if both Nvidia and Sony try to fuck me over.
Basically.
Or about the same as A PC with a £810 Threadripper and a £600 RTX 2080 if you go by the official benchmark.
