This "leak" is more or less some very basic prediction.

So far there hasn't been commentary from Microsoft about a mid-gen upgrade. So it stands to reason that they could release their next console earlier than the competition. They also learned with the Series S, that consumers are drawn to cheaper consoles when given the option, so holding back on hardware specs to achieve a lower price would again make complete sense for them. As for the PS6 being more cos...

This game is great, but it's not for everyone. It doesn't hold your hand nor does it try to be accessible, combat is slow and you are always at a disadvantage so if you do engage you must make your shots count because the penalty for missing is often dying and that can reset a lot of your progress. Puzzles are in my opinion the best part, there are enough of them, they offer a good challenge and are also the best moment to appreciate the art style of the game.

The ...

Honestly, I'm not sure if the PS5 can even read that type of disc.
I recall the use case for them was super specific and not every member of the BR Association was on-board.

I'm pretty sure that between the main game and Burning Shores, it goes past the 100GB capacity of the disc and then you have all the patches that I hope are also already baked into this version. So it makes sense for them to go with two discs.

I'm specifically talking about the performance characteristics of those games that are the common ground between all three. And if you honestly believe that an engine has no say in how a game behaves and what it can do, I don't see how to even have a discussion.

For the industry as a whole, I think it's impossible. Mobile alone would guarantee that a crash would be unthinkable.

As for specific segments of the industry like consoles. I also don't see a crash happening, but I do see a future where there are much less AAA titles and much less studios/publishers. Not only because of the recent acquisitions but also because the model is very scary from the point of view of risk especially for publicly traded companies and unfort...

Oh definitely. But at least in my case, I like to have all my library backed up. Physical media does that by default but on a console like the Xbox Series you have a real issue if you plan on doing that with digital games.

@FinalFantasyFanatic

Yes, the issue here is price.
As for collector editions, honestly, I have never been that much about collecting them. But I do miss the time when physical games had actually physical things other than the cartridge/disk.

@Cacabunga

That is another issue with consoles, as they all work as walled gardens the prices are dictated by a single entity. So the issue is not exactly that games are digital but rat...

As far as I recall this game is client side. So you should be able to play it for as long as you have the game (physical or digital). Just no new content will be available.

That is a 25% decrease. If you don't consider that far less, I have a bridge to sell you.

As for it having haptic feedback, I'm assuming that this 9 hours is with it on. But it's also not considering that the G-Cloud has its own set of internal hardware to power as well that at least right now appears to be leagues above what powers this Portal.

I think that for consumers this was a pretty solid year. We have some bad releases (UE5, in particular, has been rather shit), but we also have some amazing titles and there are still a lot of good things scheduled for the end of the year.

For developers and aspirant developers. It was a very shit year, the gaming industry has never been seen as a good environment. But the huge number of layoffs, closers, budget cuts, etc. Sort of cemented it as a terrible industry to inve...

Yes, just like someone with a powerful PC will have a better time than folks with a PS5. That is how it works, the more you pay, the more powerful the hardware you get and the better you can run those games.

In the case of the Series S, it is at least 33% cheaper than a PS5. And that difference can get as high as 45% depending on the region. So it will come with compromises, that is just how the world works.

It depends a lot on what game and what region you were in. For example, where I live we don't really get all the games officially launched for PS5 in physical format. This means that we often have to buy the American or European versions of the game, but that comes with an annoyance because of how PSN deals with DLC. Another issue is the market up that those games that don't get an official release end up getting on physical.
For example, Koei Tecmo stuff tends to be between...

The criticism around it is that it doesn't do anything new and is basic just doing what you can already do with a phone, a tablet or another more complete streaming handheld. Hell, there is even already a handheld in the market also called Portal (made by Pymax) that can do the same and more. However, that doesn't mean that it doesn't have a public. The reality is that just like consoles themselves, there is a public for more streamlined experiences and the average Joe probably do...

You are even more optimistic than Sony themselves with that prediction. But what do I know, I'm not a videogame market analyst.

I don't enjoy replaying games very much either. But the obvious is the obvious. The NG+ and the Starborn mythology were things that the developer put there for players to experience the game again.

Well, for those that got to the end of the game. It was literally built to be played multiple times.

And people joke about mods. But they are one of the main reasons as to why Bethesda games are that popular. Modders can literally create whole new games inside their games and it's really amazing. Probably only beaten by the Minecraft mod community which is also insane.

I will be really surprised if it ends up being the best seller.

Zelda: ToK already has close to 19M and that is with a 130M console base.
Hogwarts Legacy was at 15M back in May and that is with PC + Xbox Series/XOne + PS4/PS5.

So for Spider-Man 2 to beat those guys it would need to be bought by half of the total number of PS5 owners. And that is a tall task. Especially because that 33M figure is for Spider-Man (PS4) and Miles Morales (PS4/PS5)....

Pretty similar to the Abxylute, but far lower than the Logitech G-Cloud battery life.

But given Sony's recent track record, it's really good and depending on how the battery is accommodated inside of it we might have another Wii U Gamepad situation where a newer, larger battery can be used.

Honestly, I don't mind a digital-only device - I do play mostly on PC after all. I just think that one paired with Microsoft's way of handling expandable storage is a bad idea.

Like, just imagine how expensive that would get with 1TB costing around 150 USD and the current sizes for AAA titles.
