I mean, players are pretty happy to pay $70 bucks for new games. Contrary to what most hoped, game sales had not suffered because of that increase in price. And if you increase the top you will increase all tiers below. So this port that would before probably cost something between $30 and $40 is now $50.
The only way to stop it is for the majority to boycott it. But we all know that is not happening.
Really cool, hopefully, they can advance with this emulator pretty quickly. Their work with the RPCS3 was amazing given how notoriously hard that console architecture is.
A significant portion of those "alternatives" are Android/Arm-based. So I wouldn't call them alternatives to a Handheld PC like the Steam Deck at all.
The rest are valid. GPD is known for being one of the first in this market and they produce some cool shit, but they are expensive, have a history of not honouring warranties and are known for cutting corners. So the buyer has to keep that in mind. Ayn is in a similar place and for the whole Loki series of devi...
Pretty much. Even with the strong initial sales, 3M copies sold will "only" average around 200M gross with will be probably halved after considering retail, production and logistic costs. And that is before even considering the development costs... So even with Sony paying for marketing, I wouldn't be surprised if this game didn't actually generate any direct profit for SE.
PC yes, but other consoles like Xbox and a possible Switch 2 will depend a lot more on what type of deal they signed with Sony. There were earlier reports that the deal between SE and Sony for FFXVI required the “exclusion” of Xbox from the set of platforms they could distribute their games on. I wouldn't be surprised if the actual clause takes into consideration other possible direct competitors like a new generation Nintendo console. So even if the sales are weak, SE might not be able t...
Well, personally and also a feeling that I saw echo a lot in PC gaming forums is that PS games aren't special for a PC Gamer, they aren't "system sellers" or "the best in class" that we saw parroted by PS Gamers, they are just another "third-party" release with a big disadvantage of coming late to the party which really takes out of the hype and leaves them struggling against offers from other developers and publishers.
And I'm pret...
Oh yeah, Fragile Dreams: Farewell Ruins to the Moon. That is still one of the best atmospheres I have ever encountered in a game. The way everything slots itself perfectly when we talk about the scenario, the stories and the characters creating this extremely melancholic atmosphere that builds on itself the more you explore is terrific. And given that a remaster for newer platforms would also help - not fix, but help - with its largest drawback was the terrible "motion-based" combat...
Well, it is understandable. Sonic Origins Plus is yet another compilation of older titles and probably the worse one yet because it's mostly adding a couple of GameGear games to the not-that-old original Sonic Origins. And the port/remaster of Entrie Oddysey are definitely cool, but the games were always niche and for $40 each, they are a tough sale.
The issue isn't it playing on low. That is not only understandable but on a display like the one present on the SD, not a big deal. The real issue is that you can only play it for about 1:30h because you need to run it at 22w to achieve that and the battery on the SD can only last that long under those conditions.
That is currently the biggest weakness of these handheld PCs. If you throw anything that is demanding at them, you are going to have to either limit your pla...
I just watched the whole Billy Mitchell Gamer of the Century debacle. So this title came in really poor taste.
But the article itself is inoffensive enough if a bit of exaggeration. Not saying that TLOU did not have an impact on the industry. Sony's own output after it basically become different versions of that "cinematic experience" for example. But Outlast probably didn't have that much time to absorb that influence given that it was released a couple of months ...
Yeap, classic GoW is still better mechanically. But the aesthetics and atmosphere of Dante's Inferno were just top-notch. Shame it never got a PC port, but at the very least is available on modern Xbox.
@P_Bomb
Well, putting aside the moving goalposts.
Yes, even by issue one sometimes. Take things like Spider-Man: Reign or even the comic book version of Spider-Verse. Funnily enough, the end of that Peter is having his cranium crushed... by the villain wielding MJ's tombstone.
Not saying that they have to go to such lengths otherwise the game will be bad. But being what you consider "edgy" is very on-character for an IP li...
@P_Bomb
Yeah, TLOU is sort of light in comparison to a lot of things that have happened to him... Both mentally and physically Peter has been subjected to a lot worse in the comics.
I mean Peter getting a pretty shit deal is sort of comic-accurate actually. There are lots of stories where he gets the bad end of the stick some being straight-up cruel.
Honestly, I really wish they went with the other schools.
Like pick Uagadou, Castelobruxo, Mahoutokoro or even Ilvermorny and make a game set there with their own little twist to the magic system and flash out the different cultures that are honestly barely explored in other media.
Okay, I kind of want this.
Even knowing that PowerA controllers are a bit on the shoddy side as far as third-party controllers go.
"Still, I think is fair to say that an SSD is definitely recommended if you want to maximize your fun with this game. And that if you are running a low-spec machine if you pair it with a HDD, you are going to have a bad time."
Saying that is unplayable is a bit of a stretch and is not true to what the experts said. Hell, they literally say that it's also fairly dependent on the rest of your specs. Machines with more RAM offer a much better experience even when paired with an HDD as per the expert.
Still, I think is fair to say that an SSD is definitely recommended if you want to maximize your fun with this game. And that if you are running a low-spec machine with you pair it with a HDD, you ...
Is kind of sad really. Fanboying has always been a thing, but the lack of actually exciting games this gen makes the behaviour sort of depressing to watch as people are essentially fanboying over hot air.
The thing is, I don't agree with that analysis by Tweaktown. Because it discounts the biggest factor of that period, the pandemic, where literally everything was being sold at record rates. And the phenomenon is even outlined in the data itself, just look at the spike during 2020 in comparison to 2019. Then a small decline during 2021, followed by normalization in 2022. Something that you will also find in a lot of other segments.
And weirdly enough those $70 2022 games...
