The largest advantage is the modular sticks and the swappable battery.
That alone makes it worth the purchase if you are looking into a controller. The haptics are a nice bonus, but very few studios actually use them and the accelerometer definitely has more uses and can be easily mapped into any game. But still, something that I imagine most PC players don't use.
Well, if we want to be pedantic.
Most of those are legacy PC IPs not multiplatform. And you are going to be able to play on PC.
The exception is Ghostwire Tokyo which was born exclusively to a single console/PC and now changed which console that is. And Dishonored that was truly multiplatform from the beginning and now is not.
@MrNinosan
Something like that. A couple, particularly on PC, might have started the game with mods or used a console command and that disables the achievements as well. But the vast majority of "players" without this achievement should be folks who downloaded but did not play it for one reason or another.
@KillBill
Buddy, you don't need to take my word.
Go watch a walkthrough, 25 minutes is how long you take from getting control of your character to getting control of the first ship. Like, if you think you took longer than that you either went exploring on your own without the ship or your notion of time is just screwed.
If Apple does really invest in gaming and make an Apple TV with that SoC. Then I could see it becoming a really strong competitor. But if it's another half-assed attempt like the Apple Arcade ended up being, then there is no reason to even bother with it.
@shinoff2183
Considering that you literally get to space and get that achievement in the first 25 minutes of the game. I would argue that people didn't really have the time to think "Well, no, this isn't for me". And those that did install it and played less than that didn't see any of the system the game has to offer short of mining and therefore I would classify them as "people who downloaded it but didn't play it".
Microsoft's own system shows a 75% completion rate for that achievement.
What I don't get is what exactly is the big deal about it. Those 25% are people who downloaded it but didn't play it, or who used a console command or a mod that disabled the achievements.
In this case, it's a change that does mess up with people's livelihoods and could potentially end whole studios. So I could see some getting really agitated about that.
I wonder if it's later going to be timely exclusive to EGS on PC. SE is probably the best at milking those exclusivity contracts.
That is not hopeful at all. That is still engine consolidation, is just transferring the power from Unity to Epic and Godot. Sure the latter is open source and therefore much safer, but the issue remains especially with Epic and the Unreal engine, those guys already partake in some real shady stuff with their store. The last thing they need is more power over development.
And that is why engine consolidation is the issue that it is. It allows the company that operates the very few commercial options available to do whatever they want and their consumer base can only shallow it.
Going by the reports on other places the main issue here is likely not the GPU but rather the CPU. Apparently, Starfield likes cores and there are already at least a couple of reports of that de-syncing happening in 6-core CPUs. Also doesn't help that this computer has an i5 running at over 90ºC. I would check the thermal solution used here first and foremost because that is just not normal for an i5 13600k and it might be hurting the performance even more.
Welcome to N4G. That is the sort of community that is fostered and incentivized here. Some thought it could become a better place after it was bought by BGFG, but it stayed mostly the same as it kept the same old and ridiculous structure.
But either way, it's no surprise the game is doing exceptionally well. Bethesda titles always do, because they might not be the most polished or complex thing ever. They always strike that balance of just having enough to keep it fun ...
@shinoff2183
Alright. Assuming that you understand the word concurrent better than you understand that "alot" is not a word.
Based on what data? What I have found points to it being quite a good result for any game, let alone a single-player title. If you found data points that differ from that, feel free to share.
@Redemption-64
Or you could actually read. And see that I never said it was a 1:1 comparison, it was to give a perspective of what values we are talking about when we are talking about concurrent players on a single-player title. Cyberpunk is an extremely interesting point of reference as we know a lot about how it performed, we also know that between Xbox and PC, it sold around 10M units or 72% of the total sales of the game. PC is responsible for around 77% of that value....
@shinoff2183
Exactly the opposite. It is a lot because we are looking at the bigger picture.
People just appear to have a really hard time understanding what concurrent means. That is not sales, that is not a total number of people. That is just the peak amount of players that were playing it a the same time on a given point.
Again to give an idea of what we are talking about. Fortnite has estimated (activeplayer.io) that this past month an ave...
That is concurrent players thought. That means that at some point there were 1 million people playing this single-player game exactly at the same time. Which is a lot.
To put into perspective, the most successful single-player game by concurrent players on Steam is Cyberpunk 2077 and it pulled a bit over 1M as well (1.05M). And 1M is also more than double what their previous game, Fallout 4, pulled on the platform. And to give further perspective even with GP eating sales, ...
The original pricing was indeed an issue, but not the major one. That would go for its longevity, the 128-bit memory interface will likely make sure that it ages like fine milk.
On the other hand, AMD's new offerings are also odd. The leaked benchmarks put the RX 7800 XT in a similar ballpark as the previous RX 6800 XT, just more efficient and a bit cheaper (MSRP) but for $100 less it just has amazing value over the RTX 4070. Whereas the RX 7700 XT is a good choice ove...
Well, he does more than only Bethesda titles. His offerings include stuff from EA, Rockstar, FromSoftware and even Sony. And the Patreon is to access all of that.
Still a lot of money though. More than what many emulators get, for example.
Yeah, hopefully, we don't see that happening.
Otherwise, we will get "Sony's you need two jobs to afford this back".
