We don't have any data for Nintendo Digital games and keep in mind that this info is focused on the UK, where the latest ERA report hints at a pretty hefty digital game preference – six times more digital sales compared to physical ones (excluding mobile games).
I would be extremely surprised if it didn't. It was already a no-brainer before and it's even more now that Microsoft's bought Blizzard.
And I assume you completely ignore anything between? Because I'm not talking about the Ultra Hardcore PC players, those wouldn't even look at low settings. And I'm sorry, but most PC players do not want to play on Low because if they did, they would have a console instead.
The only sad thing about this year for gaming was that we got no 90+ new AAA games. There were a lot of smaller titles that did amazingly well, Sea of Stars and Slay the Princess to name a few. But when it comes to AAA, they were all from established franchises.
I don't know if that is possible. Most of the folks that made the Blizzard that we loved aren't in the company anymore.
I don't get your point or how it's anything related to what I said.
Yes, but that is the thing.
"Just fine" is completely different between a console and a PC as the expectations are completely different. It doesn't need much to see that difference, the low pre-set on PC is pretty much a 1:1 match with how the Series X and the PS5 run the game. And most PC players consider low to be undesirable, even though it's pretty good in this case and literally how the majority of players (aka console users) will experience it.
@andy85
Yeah exactly, it's the same level of quality that they always deliver that we should expect here.
As a whole, it looks like they are simplifying everything from the previous 3 games. Which is both a good and a bad thing.
Good because it has become very clear that they were bloating the games with side-plots which left a lot of characters underdeveloped. But bad because it also crept it the gameplay and Ys was not particularly mechanic-extensive to begin with.
The graphic bit is a tad curious. Ys is not visually impressive looking mostly like some sor...
They haven't confirmed support to controllers yet. But a lot of Apple Arcade can be played with one and the cheapest/best entry point is the $140 Apple TV 4K.
Don't think it's worth it just for playing Sonic, but if you are also in business for a TV Box. It is a very solid option and rather on the cheap side, weirdly enough.
It's going to look like pretty much every Yakuza game of the last 10 years. Maybe a bit crispier as it's using a more modern version of the Dragon Engine. But this is a cross-gen and a $50 title after all, so if you are expecting Alan Wake II levels of visuals you will be left waiting.
I will go with a maybe.
Horror games have been seeing an extremely healthy number of releases that more or less appeal to every kind of market. If it's more or less than what we saw during the PS2 era, I can't say, but just this year we got new franchises, remakes and sequels of really high quality.
Laziness, while games should in theory be fully scalable between all consoles given how close they are in hardware. There are differences between them and their APIs aren't shared. So if a game is first developed for the PS5 (which most are given the market share) then it has to be better adapted to take advantage of the Xbox Series X extra juicy. Otherwise, you just leave the extra power on the table and that is exactly what happens with the majority of multiplats.

I think we are currently seeing a mixture of issues.
1. There are expectations - Many PC Players, myself included, got too used to having games running like a dream. Framerates that went way beyond the basic 60 fps, resolutions that were true 1440p or 4k. So we built our systems based on that idea. However, the reality is that we have a new generation of consoles, that contrary to the previous gen are not a complete joke, so computers don't have as much leeway as they ...
Exactly, the issue is that people apparently did give them money.
This game is sitting on a 4.8 average on Metacritic and Open Critic.
And that is why we can't have nice things.
@solideagle
Probably both and also ableist. Diversity hiring goes beyond gender and race.
Could be summarized as an overall shit statement.
I think this is the second price hike in 4 years. Now it's double the price of release which is pretty bad all in itself, but made worse by the fact that the service has not been pumping out good stuff lately. The crown jewel is still Fantasian from 2021 and a lot of the other big hitters got ported to PC/Console already.
I mostly disagree with Downpour's position. Yeah, the game is not amazing by any stretch of the imagination but is much better than the HD Collection and Homecoming. The main issue is the performance, but that was mitigated by the patches, especially on the PS3. Personally, I put it a little behind Origins and The Room.
Having Restless Dreams as a different entry from Silent Hill 2 is also a choice.
This is more interesting than the China one. As I don't think there is any major Indian game or franchise out there, so this is a really good chance to put Indian developers in the spotlight.
