Personally, I’m kind of in the middle. On one hand, there were many games that I had zero issues with when using cloud streaming (Gamepass). Games like A Plague Tale, Another Crab's Treasure, Assassin's Creed Odyssey, Banjo-Kazooie, DOOM, Dead Space, and Fallout 4 all worked perfectly for me on the cloud. The only drawback was the screen size of my phone.

However, there were other games that I felt were on the verge of being unplayable, such as River City Girls, For...

I played a lot of this on my phone. It’s a really simple but fun rhythm game. It’s a shame it’s only available on the Switch and not on any other consoles.

I think consoles will likely stick around as long as they focus on what they do best: being easy to use, affordable, and straightforward. If manufacturers keep these qualities in mind, they’ll continue to maintain their place in the market.

The trouble starts when they try to introduce high-end features at higher prices. For example, if you adjust the price of a PS3 for inflation, it would be between $800 and $1,000 after tax. Given its release context and the technology it...

There was a similar situation in Brazil as well, but the opposite. After Microsoft raised the prices of their consoles to the point where a Series S MSRP was actually higher than the price of a PS5 Digital, Sony consoles started flying off the shelves. They leaped from dozens of positions on the Amazon charts and broke records at other retail stores.

It’s connected, though. They couldn’t recoup the costs because Epic restricted the places and formats where the game could be released, literally removing the biggest PC distribution channels from the equation. And they also sold the game cheaper than a traditional full release, solely to support their statements at the launch of the Epic Games Store that PC games would be cheaper if it weren’t for Steam.

What award? If it’s the TGA, you can pretty much forget about it. That’s a ‘media’ award, and there was no way they would vote for Wukong after some of them quite literally tried to bury it before it was even released.

Man, you could just say 'I'm a little b# of a fanboy.' No need to write that much.

Even if they were, which they really are not, a quick glance at other PvE live service games like Path of Exile, Warframe, Genshin, etc., will show you that there is much more being added to those games than this BS you're spilling.

Helldivers 2 isn’t offering that. They’re basically saying they will only fix bugs for the foreseeable future, which is even more egregious when you realize that half of the bugs were introduced in the last patches.

And it's a logical move as well - not starting by releasing the middle or final game of a trilogy or anything like that.

It's great to see Guts continuing to expand their fanbase. The Atelier series has been around for literally decades but was buried on PlayStation for most of that time. Things improved for fans and the developer once they started porting the games to PC in 2017, though those initial efforts were lacking, to say the least. The real payoff came with...

Well, according to Japanese players, the game had a very good foundation and was fun to play for the most part. However, progression was terribly annoying - as it often is with Asian MMORPGs - the game lacked content, raids were boring, and the monetization was predatory. Meanwhile, here in the West, the only time the game received any coverage after the Amazon partnership was announced was when Amazon admitted they would "change" and remove some content from the Western release to ...

Consoles have always been the more budget-friendly option for gaming, offering good value for their price. People accept their many limitations because they get a lot of benefits for the cost.

However, a portable console priced at $1000 doesn’t fit this model. For that price, you’d be paying a premium to play games locked to a specific ecosystem, with lower resolutions, framerates, and visual quality. These compromises are necessary for a portable device because current bat...

Even accounting for the weak yen, that seems a bit excessive. It’s even stranger considering the rumors of a PS5 Pro possibly launching by the end of the year, which means that in Japan, it could cost significantly more than $600, probably close to $700 - a high price for a console.

If we are talking about the franchise as a whole, then they already do that. Just not in the games. Those indeed feature a more blank slate that allows players to choose their dialogue options and mold their characters, but if you look at the manga and the anime, you get very distinct personalities for the main characters. A prime example is Yu from Persona 4. Most fans consider him the most unassuming of the protagonists, but in the anime, he’s a complete menace, going totally off the rails ...

And that 60-day roadmap has basically nothing on it other than ‘fix bugs.’ It’s funny as hell - those guys were handed one of the best opportunities in all of gaming, and that’s how they’re treating it.

I can only pray that players will remember this when AH releases their next game.

I mean, the biggest issue with handheld devices is not really the hardware but software support. I wouldn’t say Sony is doing a particularly stellar job with the PS5, so I don’t see how they would be able to support both the PS5 and a handheld device.

Unless, of course, the handheld could run exactly the same games as the PS5, which wouldn’t be impossible given the current AMD APUs. However, this would likely make the handheld very expensive.

If developers really cared about quality and features, they would start development on PC, the most powerful and flexible platform, which isn’t subject to any known parity clauses. They could then scale down for the weaker PS5, Series X, and even more for the Series S.

But they don’t do that. Instead, they usually start with a mid-tier platform like the PS5, which has its own set of exclusive development tools that aren’t directly compatible with the Xbox or PC ecosystems. ...

Not at all. Microsoft has moved at least 20 million units of the Series S, which is nearly 50% more than the lifetime sales of the Wii U and is getting close to the original Xbox and the Nintendo GameCube. It is likely to surpass the latter by the end of the generation.

Meanwhile, the Xbox Series X has sold close to half the number of units of the Wii U, at around 7 million. That’s why criticism of the Series S by developers is misplaced; it is the base Xbox and where most ...

They haven’t really shown that ability yet.

Historically, SE takes months, sometimes years, to port their games to PC, and those ports have generally been pretty mediocre and often abandoned after just one minor patch. So honestly, I don’t know what to say other than they still haven’t demonstrated that skill.

But if you believe in them because of faith, that’s your call.
