Kind of weird that it hasn’t officially been released there yet.
Here in Brazil, the release was also bit strange. The price was high, obviously, but it actually came in lower than expected after taxes. That didn’t stop it from already going on sale for up to 14% off at some retailers. Even now, one of the largest hardware retailers in the country is offering it at 7% off.
On Amazon, it’s doing a bit better—they also offered a 7% discount, which made it t...
It is, just not for the reasons most gamers assume.
You need to know where your fanbase is weakest so you can improve in those areas and turn undecided users on that platform into fans. These new fans are the people who will help your product reach new audiences by creating new cycle of engagement, which in turn leads to more growth. Marketing 101.
The leak suggested it was built on the RX 7700 XT with some features backported from RDNA 3, similar to how the PS5’s 'Zen 2' CPU is more like a Zen 1 with added Zen 2 features. Even though this is the second generation using this kind of setup, it’s still surprising how many console enthusiasts and console-focused media don’t fully grasp how this works. The base consoles are essentially entry-level PCs, while the 'pro' models are closer to mid-range computers.
This is exactly the issue I expected Slitterhead to face with some reviewers.
"A survival horror game that’s not scary, combined with an action game where the action falls short, isn’t a very good idea for a video game..."
But Slitterhead isn’t a survival horror game, it’s a horror game. In gaming, most horror titles incorporate survival mechanics, so people often assume the two go hand in hand. However, that’s not entirely accurate. Just as the...
I’d be really happy if they just re-released the original four games for modern consoles and PC. Beyond that, I think there’s a lot of potential to remake some of the less popular titles. Silent Hill: Downpour, for example, has a great foundation, and turning it into a truly good game should be pretty straightforward.
I'm not too sure about new games in the franchise; it really depends on who develops them. Bloober Team did a surprisingly great job with Silent Hill 2, b...
The story and dialogue in this game are the weakest they’ve ever been in the series. It reminds me of how Bethesda simplified Fallout with Fallout 4. Familiar characters have been reworked so much that they might as well be new, and choices from past games don’t carry over. Combat and gameplay are pretty different too. Exploration is way more limited, though still satisfying. Combat is also less strategic but more fun to watch and feels great to play.
In the end, it feels l...

The issue is that gamers are so accustomed to the sales numbers of 'blockbuster' titles—like the generic Sony games or COD—that they assume every game needs to sell tens of millions of copies to be successful. But this isn’t a one-size-fits-all industry. For the niche they serve, Remedy’s titles have sold well enough. Even though AW2 is the weakest of their releases in recent years sales-wise, it still did well considering the circumstances of its launch.
...
Is it a great result? No, I don’t think any developer or publisher would normally be pleased with those numbers. But considering AW2 was basically created for Epic Games to try proving a point—and not quite succeeding—it makes sense that it’s still just barely covering costs over a year later. Remedy probably isn’t too concerned about it either.
I think the vast majority of people are really enjoying this remake. They kept enough of the original and modernized it just enough for the game to work well for both new players and longtime fans. Honestly, the only issue I have with it isn’t even the remake’s fault, but rather Konami being difficult and not re-releasing the original for modern platforms.
Welcome, console players, to modern PC gaming—a world where you fork over extra cash for minor hardware gains, masked by layers of AI upscaling. Soon enough, you’ll convince yourself it’s just as good as native, because YouTubers say so—and, let’s be real, you don’t have a choice. Studios won’t bother optimizing their games anymore. Why would they, when the device can do the heavy lifting?
For $20, you get Atari 50, which I have to say is by far the best collection of retro games I’ve ever played, especially when it comes to the extras—behind-the-scenes content, curiosities, production details, etc. They really do a great job showcasing information about the games and Atari's history. The included games are also quite nice because they didn’t take the lazy route of simply packaging Atari 2600 titles; you also get Arcade and Jaguar games in the mix. Plus, there’s a small bon...
It's a bit too early to say definitively. Against DLSS, it's worse, but we haven't seen it go up against XeSS yet.
It does look better than FSR, which shouldn't surprise anyone who knows even a little about how these upscalers work and why FSR isn't in the same category as the competition. However, this video is great news for AMD users, as PSSR is likely just a modified version of whatever model AMD is working on for the RX 8000 series. Based on what wa...
This game is amazing - it's the most fun I've had with a Zelda game in years. They've created a more focused version of BotW, with dungeons, puzzles, cute interactions, and plenty of variety. Honestly, the only downside is the menu; they just copied it straight from BotW/TotK. It was frustrating there, and it’s frustrating here too.
Engine consolidation has been happening for at least two generations, and honestly, it sucks. There's no stopping it, though. Most new developers can only work with Unreal or Unity, and I’m not kidding - many courses out there don’t even cover the programming side of game development anymore because it’s seen as unnecessary for developing on those engines.
I mean, I wouldn't be that surprised. It’s likely not the final version, since Sony will wait for the AMD 9000 low-to-mid-range card to maximize their profits. However, the CPU should be based on Zen 4, and the power of the PS6 could be simulated with a more powerful current-gen AMD card. And for a prototype that is more than enough.
I do wonder what their buzzword marketing will be about, though. Right now, it’s definitely AI, but they’ll need something new for the PS...
I mean, not necessarily. When HALO was a Bungie-developed franchise, they released a new game every 2 to 3 years on average. By the end of their run with the franchise, it was one HALO game per year. If we include titles developed by outside studios, like HALO Wars, there were even less than a year between some games. With 343 Industries, they definitely expanded the time between main games, going nearly 5 years between releases. However, if we consider the side projects, it’s around the same...
If this were about piracy, they would be adding Denuvo or some other form of powerful DRM, not a PSN requirement that is so flimsy in execution that people can mod it out.
This is 100% about inflating PSN numbers. PSN numbers are a known KPI reported to investors. You know what isn’t? Piracy conversion or avoidance. Sony is not a small operation; their focus lies in what their investors care about, and they care about growth.
Sony really seems intent on inflating their user numbers to look better for their shareholders, don’t they? The original version is DRM-free, available globally, and, based on comparisons, it’s not significantly worse than the remaster. Yet they still try to push the PSN nonsense on new buyers with quite literally gives nothing to the user and locks a good chunk of the market out of the game.
Just to keep it honest: he still commented on and criticized how the Western world addresses those innocuous issues and the overall hypocrisy that west classification boards are based on. However, his remarks are aimed at the West culture as a whole. What Musk and other special snowflakes did was manipulate the language enough to frame his criticisms as attacks on "woke culture".
The more I hear about Australian politics and laws, the more it seems like a puritan hellhole.
