Man, I swear N4G has the highest amount of cattle per page ever.

I don’t understand why people think that companies are entitled to sell their games without putting in any effort. I really wonder how anyone can believe that just because a company wants money, they automatically deserve it.

@S2Killinit

No company is entitled to anyone’s money without putting in the effort to win over the market. So saying that the Xbox and PC community has to justify itself while being treated as an afterthought is very dumb. But I guess some people are so used to being treated like a doormat that they can't even notice they're being walked over and even wish that others would enjoy the "shiatsu".

People don't seem to understand that by making exclusive games for a single platform, Square Enix is missing the opportunity to build a community on others. It's a basic concept: no community means no sales, even if they release a game here and there. A constant influx of games helps build that community and drives sales. However, right now, the only market that Square Enix treats with any respect is the PlayStation market.

If you are one of the over 25 million Xbox...

Just like what happened with Yuno, it would be much cooler if they also brought the original to the West, so fans could get both the original and this 'revised' version. But I guess we can’t have everything.

Well, the Yen is weak now so it's probably why they are doing this. Still a "bold" move given how unpopular the device already is over there.

Being open world has literally zero to do with lag.

Plus, it's only a matter of time before games start being made to compensate for the extra latency of streaming, just as they were made to compensate for the extra latency of LCD TVs and Bluetooth controllers. That is, if they haven't started already and gamers haven't noticed, just as they didn't notice their godawful TV and controller latency for literally decades.

To be fair, people are quite stupid and don't know what they are looking at. Their expectations is at a new Skyrim, whereas Avowed is spin-off of Pillars of Eternity and that where it has to shine. And so far nothing is indicating that it will not deliver in that regard,

This and Doom are the only "Microsoft games" I’m looking forward to. So, it’s a bummer, but if it results in a more polished game, I’m fine with the delay.

Again, if you are a casual user who has no idea what makes a controller good and whose understanding stops at the brand, it may seem self-explanatory. After all, you are not be well-versed in the subject.

However, I'm addressing those who have some understanding of what makes a controller good and are aware that currently, first-party controllers from brands like Nintendo and Microsoft are much closer in quality to what third-party controllers used to be. They lack qual...

I didn’t question why they exist; I questioned why one would bother....

And obviously, there is a huge casual market that can’t tell the difference between a linear trigger and a digital one... And for those, sure, whatever make the "dude on the screen" move is good enough.

However, for anyone who has a better understanding of what makes a good controller or, at the very least, doesn’t buy the first thing that appears in front of them, getting ...

It depends on the game and the context in which the phrase is used. The concept of a "dead game" is most relevant for multiplayer titles, as these games rely heavily on their community to function. If there aren't enough players, the game can become "dead," either because there aren't enough people to fill a lobby or because the remaining players are all veterans who make the experience difficult for newcomers.

For a game like Palworld, using the...

I just don't see the point of getting those Xbox controllers unless you plan to use them exclusively with an Xbox device and want to avoid dealing with cables. For general use (PC, Mobile, Wired Xbox, Streaming, etc.), you can find much higher quality devices from brands like 8bitdo, Gamesir, Flydigi, and Binbok for less money.

The same goes for the Nintendo Pro Controller, making the DualSense the only first-party controller that I believe still has a unique place due...

Honestly, not as bad as I imagine. But still quite bad.

I do, because often they are people who refuse to acknowledge the drawbacks of each type of media and simply repeat whatever validates their opinion while ignoring the obvious negative aspects.

You gave a perfect example with the difference between digital media and DRM. People equate the two because it makes them feel validated. It doesn’t matter that it’s not true, as long as it can be distorted to fit their own little narrative. That’s good enough for them.

Because most people are not exactly interested in understanding how things work, they just want validation that their choice is the better one, even if it often isn’t or if the situation is much more complex.

Take first-day patches, for example. They rarely come up in conversation, but they affect physical media much more than they do digital versions. Additionally, consider the endurance of physical media itself. For instance, Switch cartridges are manufactured by Macronix...

For £329, with the added benefit of being usable on a PS5 later on, it’s definitely worth it. It’s one of the cheapest options available, even less expensive than the Meta Quest 3 and only a couple of bucks more expensive than the aging and out-of-stock Meta Quest 2.

For £329, even with the limitations of PC integration, it would still be worth it as a standalone PC VR headset. However, I don't see Sony offering it globally unless they are discontinuing the device and clearing out the current stock.

Well, you’re going to die on that hill. And then your old cartridges will either die due to a battery leak or ordinary oxidation. Your optical media will reach the end of its life and degrade, becoming unusable. Additionally, your new cartridges, which are quite literally the cheapest and least reliable type of NAND flash, will also fail. This will leave your grave filled with decaying, useless plastic... /s

In all seriousness, I collect physical media for my consoles. How...

They are sold separately only in some regions. Mainly in the US and even in those places, from what I can find, they were sold in such limited numbers that they might as well just be limited to consoles. As for the Lebron version, it's not game-themed.

I'm discussing overall sales and revenue, so Mobile and PC are certainly included. Ignoring these would mean overlooking 3/5 of the entire gaming market, which would skew the numbers. Regarding Capcom's figures, it doesn't matter if Mobile and PC are digital-only; if 90% of Capcom’s sales are digital, it means either consoles are predominantly digital or they sell so little on consoles that they don't significantly impact the percentage—And we know this isn't the case. <...
