I mean, yes, it wears its inspiration like a medal. And that is good; we need more games like that, games that focus on the execution and to it really well.

Brain fart.

What I meant was an "RX 7800" or a downclocked RX 7800 XT. Performance-wise, it should be in the ballpark of an RX 7700 XT, similar to how the PS4 Pro was an RX 480 with performance capped at RX 470 levels. The remaining question is price. I imagine they will only sell it without the drive to maximize profit—it should be compatible with the Slim drive. But even accounting for that, I'm expecting something close to $699 after tax.

Honestly, I have zero sympathy for those people. They should be banned for this crap of region-hopping that has quite literally destroyed the regional markets of the less affluent regions.

I mean we all know it's coming.

I'm looking foward for the price, cause unless Sony surprise everyone with a more powerful device, it should have a "RX7700" aka a RX7700 XT under downclock.

I think it’s because the main version is designed for PC. Converting it to Xbox is relatively straightforward, but getting it to work as well on the PS5 takes a lot more effort, which might be beyond their budget and timeline.

It’s similar to what happens with many third-party games that run better on PS5. Porting them to Xbox becomes more challenging, which often lead to the Xbox version performing worse than it should, and the PC version being more broken.

@ArmrdChaos

That’s likely how they would approach a song they care about having in the game and truly need—something that might play at a crucial moment in the story, like "Holding Out for a Hero" in the final mission of Saints Row 3.

But for a song that just plays on the radio, they probably don't give a f*ck. So, a take-it-or-leave-it approach is what those artists will get.

I think the issue with Helldivers 2 is that the developers have a cool idea: a futuristic dystopia where life is cheap, and the divers are just cannon fodder meant to die repeatedly. The whole point of their existence is to die—there are no heroes, and any hope is completely fake.

It's a really cool concept, but the problem starts when you try to translate that into a game. How do you make cannon fodder have fun being cannon fodder? I honestly have no idea, but I don...

I don't know if I would necessarily call it a bad deal. This is a song from '86, and the band isn't that well-known these days. Their YouTube channel has less than 10k subscribers, and the song itself has a bit less than 7 million views.

The guy jokes about being paid in "exposure," but honestly, that's a meme until it isn't. GTA VI will likely be one of the best-selling games of this generation, not to mention the tens of millions of people wh...

No they wouldn't. That is the whole point of software emulation.

Or do you think something like the Steam Deck has a secret Cell ship tucked there somewhere to be able to emulate PS3 titles?

Emulation is a viable option, and Sony could have easily implemented it since they have all the documentation of the original console. Plus, the PS5 is powerful enough to handle it. They chose not to do it simply because they weren't interested.

It would be super funny, given that a good chunk of Switch games are repurposed Wii U games, and they even ask for more money than the original versions were sold for. If that happened again, it would be so comical—just imagine a New Super Mario Bros. Wii U Deluxe Plus, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Ultra, Bayonetta 2 Once Again, etc.

This looks great.
Really good to see this series revived in such a way.

Personally, I’m kind of in the middle. On one hand, there were many games that I had zero issues with when using cloud streaming (Gamepass). Games like A Plague Tale, Another Crab's Treasure, Assassin's Creed Odyssey, Banjo-Kazooie, DOOM, Dead Space, and Fallout 4 all worked perfectly for me on the cloud. The only drawback was the screen size of my phone.

However, there were other games that I felt were on the verge of being unplayable, such as River City Girls, For...

I played a lot of this on my phone. It’s a really simple but fun rhythm game. It’s a shame it’s only available on the Switch and not on any other consoles.

I think consoles will likely stick around as long as they focus on what they do best: being easy to use, affordable, and straightforward. If manufacturers keep these qualities in mind, they’ll continue to maintain their place in the market.

The trouble starts when they try to introduce high-end features at higher prices. For example, if you adjust the price of a PS3 for inflation, it would be between $800 and $1,000 after tax. Given its release context and the technology it...

There was a similar situation in Brazil as well, but the opposite. After Microsoft raised the prices of their consoles to the point where a Series S MSRP was actually higher than the price of a PS5 Digital, Sony consoles started flying off the shelves. They leaped from dozens of positions on the Amazon charts and broke records at other retail stores.

It’s connected, though. They couldn’t recoup the costs because Epic restricted the places and formats where the game could be released, literally removing the biggest PC distribution channels from the equation. And they also sold the game cheaper than a traditional full release, solely to support their statements at the launch of the Epic Games Store that PC games would be cheaper if it weren’t for Steam.

What award? If it’s the TGA, you can pretty much forget about it. That’s a ‘media’ award, and there was no way they would vote for Wukong after some of them quite literally tried to bury it before it was even released.
