Modern PC tech has turned into such a mess for games, plain and simple. With all the fancy hardware and tools like DLSS, FSR, and XeSS, developers have gotten lazy. They don’t even try to optimize games anymore because they know these features can slap a Band-Aid over the problem. Instead of pushing for better performance, they’re just dumping half-baked games on the market, confident that modern tech will make up for their lack of effort. But hey, look how shiny that surface is...

Hopefully, this is true not only for haptics, which tends to be an overhyped feature, but also because it includes an accelerometer. Xbox controllers are the default for most platforms outside of Sony and Nintendo consoles, such as computers and phones. With these features integrated and supported by the API, they could see wider implementation in games and trully become a standard in games. Not to mention, that this would also give third-party manufacturers, who do produce some of the best c...

"I’m primarily drawn to video games with deep stories. I want to be engaged and immersed in these fictional tales that make me see the world in ways that I haven’t before. One of the games that deeply touched me was Red Dead Redemption 2..."

I think the author just made the best argument as to why, if AI is used in games, the majority of players wouldn't even notice.

Yeah, it's a shame they didn't take this opportunity to fix the localization. That alone would elevate the game because it actually has a really good story with great characters. However, that heavily depends on the player's understanding of the lore and the franchise, as this is a spinoff.

I'm sorry, but if physical media on Xbox is an indication of anything, it's that people are stupid. The thing is quite literally worthless; it's just a physical activation key. Plus, Brazil does not operate like other markets when it comes to physical media. Just look at Nintendo and Sony—not all games get physical releases, and some that do are released quite literally half a decade after their original launch, like New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe.

So, I wouldn&...

Well, PSN is one of the only account systems that outright blocks regions from accessing certain games, so anyone from those regions will obviously hate it more than they hate Ubisoft Connect, which is just annoying.

For everyone else, the level of hate is about the same. There are mods to bypass Rockstar's account system, just like there are for PSN. There are also curator pages dedicated to tracking games that use EOS, etc.

I also think it's dead in Brazil; basically, no official retailer has it in stock. You can still find it through third-party sellers, but at a pretty marked-up price. Which is sort of sad, given that Microsoft had, at one point, good control of that market.

20 bucks for the armor and an extra 10 for the gun and other items.
Not the worst MTX out there, but pretty expensive nonetheless.

Of course, it's on me—because I'm not part of the mass audience that buys these games in bulk. And that's the whole point: the market is full of people who want those kinds of experiences, so that's what studios create and publishers support. You are the perfect example of the state of things. Returnal? A very basic rogue-lite game, but with great presentation. Spider-Man 2? Barely anything new compared to the previous games with the character, but again, amazing presentation....

Console gaming has been pretty mediocre this generation. Very few great games are coming out, many niches are being left unfulfilled, and the AAA blockbusters often have the depth of a 4D attraction at Disney World—by design—because that's apparently what the critics and the public want. Microsoft is part of the problem, releasing very few games and even fewer that try something new or innovative. Despite having a stronghold on multiplayer and co-op franchises, they consistently crash and...

Yeap, Turok was a FPS after all.
But this still looks great.

Physical media is already on life support.

PlayStation is the least broken of the bunch, but it’s far from perfect. Games almost never get reprinted with updates, and Sony’s making it painfully obvious they’re shifting to digital. PSVR2 games are all digital-only, and the PS5 Pro doesn’t even bother including a disc drive in the box. The writing is on the wall.

Nintendo isn’t doing much better. A good chunk of the Switch library is either digital-only, pa...

If we are talking about different features, I would really like the ability to stream content to the screen while using it in handheld mode. Basically, a Wii U Gamepad 2.0.

I'm fully aware that few games would use that feature, but the possibilities for new game modes, inventory management, and especially asymmetrical multiplayer would be there.

And if there is a "Lite," I hope it isn't artificially limited like the current model. Adding...

Gearbox has a lot of problems, but one thing they’ve consistently done right is showing appreciation for their fans. Immortalizing Michael Mamaril in the second game was genuinely cool and so is this.

To be fair, if the game is fun, I don't think the primary target audience will really mind it borrowing from Horizon. PC gamers aren't exactly known for caring about this stuff. It might affect its performance on the PS5, though.

Yeah, I can kind of see it in the enemy design. Gameplay, though, appears to be closer to something like Ark than what we saw in Horizon. Plus the focus on melee.

Yeah, but here’s the thing: what set the original Steam Controller apart from nearly every other controller on the market was the touchpads. By focusing on them, the original became the best alternative to a keyboard and mouse for PC-centric games.

But this supposed Steam Controller 2 doesn’t seem to focus on the touchpads—they’re clearly pushed out of the way. That’s what feels off. Sure, this design might work better for general gaming, but it sacrifices what made the ori...

I'm not so sure about this design; it's clearly based on the Steam Deck, which works there because of how bulky it is. However, for a controller, I feel those touchpads are a bit too low to be comfortable to use with the triggers and, in general, that is the combination you probably use the most with the original as it acts like a mouse.

While the discount might be the same, the base price can vary greatly between platforms due to different regional pricing implementations, resulting in the final discounted price being vastly different depending on your region.

For example, in my region, the base price of EARTH DEFENSE FORCE 6 is already 30% cheaper on Steam than it is on the PSN. So, if it receives the same discount currently offered during the PSN Black Friday sale (30% off), the final discounted price on...

Yes, the portal is extremely cheap.... to build. The components are estimated to cost around $80. And that is kind of the point.
