Looks great.
I'm really excited for this one.
The latency of this type of service is not likely to affect old school games like RPGs and adventure titles. But anything that requires precission is out of the question.
A shame that the service is "UK Only". I would love to test it.
If you like role playing, ELEX is probably one of the best titles in the last decade. The issue is that all the other aspects of it are indeed mediocre. The combat is clunky, the visuals are very last gen and the animations are straight up bad.
But if you like role playing - as in old RPGs like Gothic II and even Morrowind. ELEX is a pretty good choice, especially for that price.
I love this franchise, being one of the best and most fun "metroidvanias" I've ever played. But, I'm not much of a fan of the first title, while it's true that it's gorgeous and it pushed the GBC boundaries to the max, it has a big problem in the size of the sprites in relation to the screen size, which makes the navigating through the stages much more difficult than it should be. Since you can't see the enemies and obstacles until they are way too close.
I swear I try to take the media seriously. But, they are not helping.
I own the Wii U original, and the gameplay is pretty much the same for the entire game. Some levels introduce some new gimmick, but other than that what you saw in the demo is what you will get in the full game.
Personally I really enjoyed it and recommend it. But, I agree that as a port it could be a bit cheaper.
Well, the publisher is stating that they had withdrawn their localization plans to comply with the wishes of the platform holder (Sony in this case). Also while the game was refused classification in some countries (UK, Gemany, Australia and Ireland), it did got a M rating by the ESRB therefore the american release wasn't blocked by the rating board.
"PQube must respectfully comply with the wishes of the platform holder and have therefore withdrawn any future plans for Omega Labyrinth Z’s European and North American release on PS4 and PS Vita."
Basically, Sony of America and Sony Europe barred the game's western launch. Perhaps for fear of negative feedback, after it was refused classification in some countries.
This is something inherent of any service that offers third-party content. It was agreed between Microsoft and third-party publishers that a particular game would be part of the Xbox Game Pass for a certain period of time (One year at least). Eventually this period of time runs out and said game has to be withdrawn until a contract renewal.
Just to illustrate:
Next month, DiRT Rally, Dead Rising 3, Limbo, Ultratron, Metal Slug XX, So Many Me and Pharaonic will re...
Wow, the 2.5D visuals of this game are very beautiful. I really did not expect something like that because of the thumbnail.
I'm interested.
I agree, I think it's because unlike comics, the games are not - mostly - blatant trying to trow a specific ideology in our face - although some developers and journalists are trying. What bothers me is the need for virtue signaling like that "Tomb Raider text message", that feels insincere and it really piss me off.
The "plot" is strong in this one.
If it's released with exactly the hardware they're promising. Then virtually any AAA should run on it, including MHW.
Yeap, they will toned it down. It will flop big time and they will start putting lewd costumes as DLC.
Only 34% of approval by the community. Making it the worst rated Ys game available on Steam by a large margin. Congratulations NISA.
So... it will feature a lot of sound distortion and some frame skipping here and there?
Sure you can enjoy the game without the comics. But it is a far better experience in regards to story, lore and character development if you are familiar with them. Moreover, the series will presumably continue in the form of comics with Issues 10 # to 12 # being kickstarter rewards.
If it comes with all the updates and fixes, this is a very solid RPG. My only problem with it is that the story ends up being a little dependent on the comics and I imagine most people never had any contact with them.
The sad part of this version is that if it were not for that ridiculous graphics, it would probably be the best version of the game. Higher resolution sprites for the enemies, PS1 quality soundtrack, GBA quality localization, 8 directions movement, auto-battle and quicksaves.
This emulator's evolution is being frighteningly fast. If they continue like this I believe that in a year or so we will have the first games in a completely "playable" state.
