I'm more interested in the pinball one to be honest. But will be pretty fun to see the mods for this one. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Pretty good article. The Atelier series is a very weird one. As each game have it's own ideas and can play vastly differently than another title even in the same trilogy.
But to get to know the franchise or at least what was the fundation of it. I would argue that the Arland is the best one, even though I prefer other sub-series even more.
I get that. But don't think that will happen, because Epic would not allow that to happen. Again we are talking about a company that spended millions of dollars just to take a third party game out of a competitor's store.
Plus we already have a similar case in Phoenix Point (also crowdfounded, also going to delivered in the form of Steam keys) and the most they managed to do in that regard was to offer Steam keys to the backers that will only be delivered one year ...
Not exactly the same thing, as the pre-orders for Metro Exodus were open on Steam for half a month before Epic paid to take it out of Steam - they didn't pay for exclusivity, as the game is being sold though the Microsoft Store as well. They just didn't want Steam to be able to sell it as well.
In that case the publisher had to either honor those sales or offer refunds, because the treat of legal action was pretty much real. That said, they did take a risk on Euro...
I really doubt that they would do something like that. Because those keys could be sold elsewhere, plus I don't believe Epic would allow it to release on Steam in any form, no matter how limited that would be.
It might also be just some PR bullshit and they will not do anything in the end.
They will most likely ask for more money from Epic to balance the backlash or even to offer refunds to the backers.
As a micro-pc, I can say it's pretty decent for the base price ($249). But as a console, I don't see why anyone would want one.
Chinese developer, consoles are not a important market for them. But depending on the reception they might port it over.
I don't think it is bad per see. However I don't believe that the price is coherent with what it offers.
It is based on the anime of the same name, but there a lot of parts that are straight up ripped from said anime (as in they literally play the anime). And while they did add some new scenes they together don't make more than half a hour of content. Then there is the gameplay, it is a visual novel/point click type of game. Therefore other than some minigames ...
Unless they added something over the PS4 version, I can't really recommend this game. It's short, doesn't have much added into the story and the few "game" sections that it does have are really nothing to to write home about being mostly minigames.
If it was going for something like $20 I could see some appeal. But for $50, sticking with the Anime is a far better option.
And it's already on iOS, Android and Switch.
Honest I have no idea what is that they are going to port. Because other than Atlus titles, thre isn't much more on Sega catalog that would make sense to port over the PC.
Some old Sonic titles or Phantasy Star Nova would be nice though,
It was a pretty good game to be honest, the combo system worked well and gave it some deph (though I can see why a couple of people didn't like it). That said, as a "Devil May Cry" it just wans't what the fans wanted.
It's pretty nice seeing those otome games being localized for PC.
Er... spraying over someone's else spray is kind of a normal thing in Overwatch.... But sure it's a "issue"...
I don't think that is the case. I mean we have the Switch with a consumer base that is two times that of it's predecessor. So as long as there is something to entice people, the consumer base will grow.
But even if we consider that to be the case. The currently Microsoft consumer base are already enough to make them profitable (as you can see in their last financial report), so they only need to keep it. And as that is supposed "solidified" that task would...
It doesn't really matter though. As long as Microsoft can build a solid consumer base.
Because as long as they have that, they can keep their gaming division profitable and with a health growing rate. And that is even more true now that they are focusing on services rather than hardware units.
Sure, winning the console war would be even better. But as long as they are profitable and growing they are fine.

Most of the times, companies have agreements with physical resellers (brick and mortar stores) so the digital version will cost the same as the physical one. If this is not done, most stores would just refuse to carry the game. Though there are ways to bypass that, like making the physical edition "special" with some extras.
Now about the "expensive cart", a famous insider knows as ZhugeEx pointed out that in order for a comp...
Plants Vs Zombies GW2 is pretty good if there are still people playing (the game is semi-dead on PC). Star Wars Republic Commando is a amazing squad based FPS and Metal Gear Rising is a great hack and slash.
No idea about the Adventure Time though.
That would be hard, this company have never dealt with consoles and there aren't many of those in China anyway. But who knows, maybe if people make enough noise.
