The particle simulations look awesome. The way shots take chunks out of pillars or brakes the glass looks amazing.
The game's graphics, however, "ain't" no Gears of War.
"OpenGL simply takes a little more work, which is why it has greater performance than DX."
No it doesn't. Period. DX bangs the registers directly just like openGL does. OpenGL does NOT offer better performance than DX. Period.
" Those games didn't go on the cube, nothing is going to change this time around... "
Did you play Snakeater? The _enhanced_ versions of MGS1+2 for the GameCube?
I find Nintendo's pricing absolutely absurd. An iTunes model, with games at $.99 - $1.99 would be amazing, but $12 for an N64 game really makes one look at all the free (although illegal) options to play games. Nintendo is doing _nothing_ to update these titles, they are releasing the roms and charging too much money.
You must be new around here. ;)
This site is an exercise in flagrant editorial bias on behalf of the posters...unashamed and unwilling to be fair, and thinking none of us ever actually read the article.
Now that I know that, I guess I'll just hunker down and wait. I mean, you already know it is GOTY, after having neither seen nor played one second of this game in action.
Ignoring all the amazing games we've already _seen_ and played for the PS3, 360, Wii and P.C, you somehow have peered into the murky depths of our future and returned with this nugget of Wisdom. Some might have used their power to warn humanity of impending catastrophe or even to make a quick buck. Not you ...
Do you mean no single player as in the content is weak or no single player as in _no_ single player content, Counterstrike style.
Because if it is the latter, I am suddenly very uninterested in the game.
You are trying to tell me Canada has the infrastructure necessary to run a PS3?
Electricity to run the console and television? Roads to ship the units? Who are they trying to kid?
I guess the PS3 performs well as a baby seal club to demand this sort of price in the frozen tundra of trapper's outposts that is the great unexplored area above the United States.
You realize that the fx35 is for girls, and the 45 is for boys, right? Cause I don't want you to run out and buy the wrong car to match your "V6Mustang" username.
"Xbox 360 is close on the heels of the PS3 overall"
Could we have a winner for worst analyst in history?
NOT SOLD.
But everyone already mentioned that. This thread will, regardless, become absurd.
But what is up with the backlog of news? There is around 16 pages of stuff in this section...
Pictures look good, btw.
See above. (Note, I think this is going to be my standard template.) ;)
Pay is less than any other technical specialization...as games tend to be more "fun" than a db schema for a spoon company. (But it is 10x more work)
See title.
I think this is once where both sides can agree with THeMart, no?
YOU REPEATED A F***ing article that has already been posted 40 times, and you were kind enough to give it your own spin (and crap language skills) instead of accurately recreating the title.
It's official, this site is going to sh*t.
Seriously, dude, when you start losing bubbles, and especially when you only have one left, maybe it is time to see if maybe you could change your behavior just a bit. There are plenty of hardcore fans for the 360 and PS3 that have all their bubbles...maybe just tone the rhetoric down a smidge.
There's a new Oblivion expansion? News to me...
First of all, ArsTecnhica is a _very_ respected site.
Read the thread, but basically utilizing the scaler and the memory buffer is 50% more expensive than 720p. Scaling is _not_ free and developers need to implement it on a per-game basis. It also implements horizontal scaling but not vertical.
From Beyond3D:
"I wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't really a scaler per-se, although I *think* that's how it is being described to developers. We ran the story w...
