Multi-thousand dollar PC??? That would mean every 1st party studio (343, Coalition, etc) NEEDS to get their games running to the level that a multi-thousand dollar PC would run the same game at
@Kribwalker - "I'm a lvl 11 and haven't gone back in 2 months. Can't get into it. Maybe because i enjoy Zelda way more, or the people here hyped it to be the greatest game ever, but I'm not a big fan"
I agree that Zelda is a great game...But by your logic you can't get into any game that isn't as good as Zelda...And since Zelda is better than 95% of most other games, that means you wont be playing 95% of any games going forward...

Shawn Layden quote: "My philosophy is to play to my strengths. And if you look at the studios we have – Naughty Dog, Guerrilla, Santa Monica Studios, Japan Studios – that’s what we do well. We do story. We create characters. I was so gratified to see the response to Horizon’s Aloy when she showed up on the screen and the crowd went wild.
Those are the kind of things we do well. It’s what we’re known for. It really speaks to our entertainment DNA. We wish to entertain. ...
@moldybread - "More and more games are becoming service based games one way or another which is good. In the past a game would release, you play it and finish it, then wait multiple years for anything new from them."
That doesn't mean ALL games need to be service based. Just because one platform is going to follow the trend of being service based (be it multiplayer only, multiplayer focused, etc) doesn't mean they all need to follow the trend.

MY ANSWER: If Phil was confident was that an unannounced AAA Microsoft exclusive would drop in 2018, why wouldn't he announce it at E3 2017??? Thats only 1 year away...not 2-3 years.
So I ask you again: If Phil has unannounced AAA exclusives that he 's confident will release in 2018, why not show them at E3 2017 (only 1 year from announcement to release)???
@KionicWarlord222 & @gangsta_red...Please answer the following question:
If Phil has AAA exclusives that he 's confident will release in 2018, why not show them at E3 2017 (only 1 year from announcement to release)???
@KionicWarlord222 - "This is great..."
Really? Phil Spencer said he JUST signed some exclusive deals that wont be ready for another 2-3 years and thats great??? So Xbox owners (which I own both consoles) will be waiting another 2-3 years for their next exclusive?
In other words, if he's got AAA exclusives that he's confident will release in 2018, why not show them at this past E3? Xbox either has none, or he's not that confident th...
@zerocarnage - "like Sony and Nintendo do not do the same, sorry I forgot Microsoft are the only ones in the business that beat around the truth, change crap and try different tactics in order to help make the money."...Sony has done the same thing.
Sony has said "First on console" and "Console debut"...And guess what, they got called out for it...Now its Microsoft's turn to get called out for it...And since Sony has gotten called out for i...
@ninsigma - "I looked up darwin project. MS have said they're publishing it so I'd say that one isn't coming to ps4."...The same exact thing was said about Rise of the Tomb Raider. So lets not be to presumptuous.
@Saijahn - "It's a game that could really benefit from cross-platform play though, but we know Sony isn't having it at all."...I'm sure the game will get along just fine with or without cross-platform play (as most multi...
Wow...The author of the article fell for Microsoft's "Console Launch Exclusive" phrase...Hook, line & sinker.
Player Unknown's Battleground, Ashen & The Darwin Project were are shown as "Console Launch Exclusives" which is fancy for "TIMED exclusives". But I see that this author fell for the PR spin
Sony probably doesnt make marketing deals to force parity. Assassin's Creed Origins is marketed w/Xbox and they've confirmed both 1X & Pro versions will be Dynamic Rez @30fps. BUT...
I'm sure the professional complainers will still blame Sony for that too.
I love @moldybread & @darthv72's (and lots of other people's) negative view of marketing deals to withhold content. I'm sure the same group of people have a negative view of Sony not participating in cross-console play...
What I find really funny is that most of the people with negative views of both practices seem to only express their negative views of these practices after Microsoft reverses course in 2015-2016.
Prior to that, I never ...
@KionicWarlord222 -- "Microsoft put that in there because you cant write "checkboard 4K" or "dynamic resolution" as a separate package icon."
That might be true, but it doesn't change the fact that they will be putting "4K Ultra HD" icons on their box art even when a game might be Checkerboarding or Dynamic Resolution.
And the reason why this is noteworthy is b/c Microsoft has been on stages, interviews & pr...
While I think $499 is fine for the hardcore & fanboys, I do think it'll be a tough pill to swallow for the average & casuals. Especially if Pro drops to $349 during Scorpio's release month.
If price is true then the tough work for Phil & Aaron starts now...
They've been comparing Scorpio's power to Pro's & they will continue to do so. BUT now they have to do the power comparison as it relates to the price difference (which agai...
@Dragonscale "@uptown, 35-40 mill is a complete exaggeration. More like 25 mill."
Its not an exaggeration at all, its a guess. And your guess is as good as mine.
XB1 gamers who use back compat do so a total of approx 25.4hrs-29hrs each...since back compat launch(508M hrs divided by 50% of 35M-40M XB1s)
The people who love when Microsoft mocks PlayStation are the very same people who complain every time Sony does anything (i.e. Sony recently bragging about PS4 2:1 in N.America & 3:1 in UK [source: http://www.playstationlifes... ], etc)...I LOVE the hypocrisy
@Kavorklestein - "It may SEEM diminshing, but for the ones who buy or get some classics on 360 BC and enjoy em, or just like to have em in case they ever wanna replay it, or just like to collect games.." -- It doesn't SEEM diminishing, it IS diminishing. Back Compat is a diminishing asset because the need (and/or want) to play 7th gen games diminishes as more and more 8th gen games populate the gaming landscape. [That is unless you believe people bought 8th gen consoles to pri...

No way Turn 10 can optimize to the level of a "multi-thousand dollar PC" while Coalition can only get Gears 4 campaign to run Native 4k/30fps...Both CAN'T be true!!!
That would mean every 1st party studio (343, Coalition, etc) NEEDS to get their games running to the level that a multi-thousand dollar PC would run the same game at
