@darthv72 - "The marketing deal you are thinking of was between Activision and Sony not Bungie and Sony. Bungie develops the game, Activision makes the deals and pays the bills."
I never stated otherwise, so why do you feel the need to correct me on something I was never wrong about?
Microsoft didn't skirt around any Sony marketing deal. They are offering the game free (Just Like They Did With Destiny 1 in 2014).
Your excused if you don't remember that b/c giving the 1st game away free didn't help Microsoft much in 2014. And I see a similar fate this go-round.
@kribwalker - "Also MS has right of first refusal for their games (so they definitely saw this as the same as minecraft, allow these other platforms to have it and they will make more money)."
Do you have any proof of this statement...If so, please share in the form of a link
(btw, if MS did have the right of first refusal then that means they refused the exclusive & marketing for Destiny...Which would also mean Sony didn't have to pay m...
@Apocalypse Shadow
I'm not sure what I did there...I just wanted to know (of the people think that Xbox would release their next console in 3-4 years (2020 or 2021)) do they think it'll be a 4K console or an 8K console.
I think its a straight forward question...But as of this comment, several up & down votes, but nobody has answered
For people who think Xbox will drop Xbox One X's successor within 3-4 years (2020 or 2021): I have 1 question for you...Will that console be another 4K console or will they push for True 8K?
@Kribwalker - "I'd say in 3 years the OneX becomes the base model and the successor comes then. Then the oneS gets phased out"
So in 3 years the Xbox One X's successor comes out...Will that be another 4K console or do you really think they'll push for 8K in 2020?
In my opinion I dont see Xbox releasing another console until they make an 8K console. And I say that because they say X1X is their "True 4K" console
@moldybread - "People seemed to care way back in 2010 when it was announced on the PS3 and crossplay with the PC for Portal."
I agree that people have cared about crossplay with PC for a long while now.
But even as people talked about crossplay with PC (as far back as far back as Final Fantasy 11 on PS2), nobody ever talked about (or cared about) cross-console play between consoles from different companies from 2005 through 2015 (the same way no...
@Kribwalker
Its not a bad thing...Sony's been doing crossplay w/PC for over a decade. As for cross console play, I don't understand why Sony would do it...
For one, nobody even cared about cross console play prior to 2016 (even though online console gaming was a thing in 2005 (360) & 2006 (PS3))
And two, its called business...The same reason why you cant buy a song on iTunes & play it on your Android phone, or buy the k...
@moldybread - "instead of some feeble attempt like they have always supported crossplay but in reality that was only for the PC"
I love that you think its a "feeble attempt" when PlayStation has supported crossplay on PC (as if thats not real cross play).
But more importantly, I love that nobody cared about cross-console play for the entire decade before Phil Spencer said anything about it in 2016. Now people act as if its the most im...
To be fair the exact same thing happened with Uncharted 4. Many people made fun of the Nathan Drake glitching through the world (I believe at PSX 2014) & then when the delay was announced people claimed Naughty Dog was in trouble
This is the problem with not having enough 1st party studios. They need to have studios to help fill the void between Halo & Gears releases. Forza's cool, but more is needed. And now Xbox's 2017 exclusive releases are on pace to be worse than any console this generation
@Woolly_
Well if it works for you, I'm happy. But I'm personally glad that 1 company makes sure to release games throughout the year (especially during the 1sh half of the year when multi-plats aren't as plentiful as they are near the latter half of the year)
Uncharted: Lost Legacy is just about as big as Uncharted 4???
Well one of the ND Devs did say the game went from DLC to a FULL game...So yet another AAA for PS4's 2017 lineup
Wait, so ReCore is getting a definitive edition but the only difference is 1 new mission? Am I reading that correctly?
(I know others might point to the other 2 things in the tweet, but those should be patched in the the existing version anyways)
@Razzer
I'm glad you understood my comment.
@Everybody else
I'm not taking a shot at the Taco Bell promotion (please follow my next line closely)....
I'm taking a slight shot at Aaron G…for taking a shot at PlayStation for using the Taco Bell promotion in 2013…and then turning around and using the Taco Bell promotion again in 2017
Gotta love how the Xbox exec who took a slight jab at Sony for doing a PS4 giveaway with Taco Bell in 2013 ( https://twitter.com/aarongr... ) is now "excited" when Xbox does the very same thing ( https://twitter.com/aarongr... ). Oh have times changed...
"Xbox One Exclusive Late 2017"
I dunno, sounds a whole lot like Xbox's Gamescom 2014 wordplay used for Rise of the Tomb Raider's "Coming Holiday 2015, Exclusively on Xbox One"
If we only count exclusives, then YES...If we count all game, then [jn my opinion] NO
@Team_Litt - "That's funny. Last I checked, CoD and is PS4's highest selling franchise."
What does that have to do with PS4 versions of non-shooting games selling dramatically better than XB1 versions of the same games??? (especially Japanese developed games...which sell quite a bit more than the 2:1 console ratio)
On topic...XB1 could get all the other KH games & it still wouldn't help KH3 much on Xbox One.
@darthv72 - "your comment was in error as it implies that the deal of marketing of this game is with bungie when it would be with Activision."
Wrong again...You only think my comment was in error because of your assumption that I was referring Bungie. But outside of quoting you, I never once mentioned Bungie until this very comment.
