I’d actually love it if the kind of dynamic difficulty that some retro games had would be brought back. There were sometimes areas exclusive to higher difficulty settings, and in some instances, there were certain types of enemies that were exclusive to higher difficulties as well. If nothing else, a number of games just had more enemies as the difficulty increased. The same area in a game could feel quite different depending on whether you’re playing on easy, hard, very hard, etc.
Judging by this headline, better than this author in English class.
It is also true that as genres evolve, new genres can form as certain games try something different with the standard formula that separates itself enough from the norm to warrant its own category. I think this is what we have seen over the past decade or so with the RTS and TBS genres. The tower defense genre is clearly an offshoot of the turn-based strategy genre, and the MOBA is clearly an offshoot of the real-time strategy genre (where instead of playing God, you're playing one of t...
Happy New Year Google, your system is dead. Any attempts to repeatedly resuscitate it are in vain, and you're the laughingstock of the games industry. We know you have a vast amount of wealth, but if your goal was to generate more of it, this has been an abysmal failure and you ought to look to other pursuits. If you simply like flashing cash and wasting it, I could probably come up with a long list of frivolous things that would give you short-term pleasure and would arguably be a bet...
There's already a large power gap between the Switch and other current systems. If that was a detriment to the Switch in terms of sales it wouldn't be doing nearly as well as it has been. Ergo, I have no reason to believe that a new gen will affect Switch sales nearly as much as one might think.
It's a system with features that the PS4 and XB1 don't have, and so it offers a different kind of experience. That's why it continues to do well. The compe...
Lulz. They can't even give these things away. That pretty much sums up how dead this system is.
I just can't read walls of text. I'll often give posts the time of day if they're spaced appropriately, although judging by the size of this wall, this post would be a novel even if it had the proper spacing.
We can probably expect even more content in the future too. It's not Fire Emblem without DLC that adds up to cost more than the game itself.
I'm not surprised. Congrats Sony!
Poor Waluigi. Even Bubsy is regarded as a better option than him, lol.
It is. Trying to repeatedly CPR it is a waste of energy.
Pokémon was never a hard game. Who plays these games for any kind of challenge? That said, I heard they somehow managed to make the games even easier, and the vast majority of games out there offer difficulty settings, so why not Pokémon?
Yeah, I wasn't huge on this practice back on the PS2, but at least DLC wasn't an option then. Now that DLC has been a thing for a very long time, there's really no reason why owners of the original game shouldn't be able to just pay a much smaller price to just download the extra content.
I’m all for adding female characters or determinant gender characters to the cast, but Fire Emblem is way overused. At this point they might be getting close to rivalling the Mario cast and that should not be the case. I would have preferred a character like Shantae instead.
I don't know, there's a lot of competition for that title. The Bioshock series certainly earns marks for creativity though.
I have actually seen a few local game/movie stores around that do this. They're locally owned and operated though, and are certainly the rare exception. It's also not something I've done in a very long time as there are other options for gaming on a budget in this day and age.
Yeah, gamers who can stick to an XB1 or XB1X if they want to play Xbox exclusives while pre-ordering a PS5 for a true next-gen experience. So yes, it's good for gamers who can save hundreds of dollars by not having to invest in a new Xbox.
Agreed. If I can't have my Sony vs MS superbowl I may as well just not watch and get the score through articles posted after the fact. I'll watch Sony's PS5 reveal event wherever and whenever they have it instead.
I still love that vid. It's one of the greatest pieces of trolling in gaming history, and it more than worked. It's probably thanks to Sony that the XB1 ended up being a remotely worthwhile system too. Abysmally low pre-order numbers of the XB1 next to fantastic pre-order numbers for the PS4 sent a clear message to MS that we didn't want their DRM BS and that not everything that comes out of their swelled heads is pure gold. It took longer for them to drop the Kinect in the bo...
Morons, the lot of them.
