It's not garbage, it's recycling. :P In all seriousness though, you will have to make your cardboard look really nice. Having the backing of a brand like Nintendo really helps too. Actually, that's probably the main key here. Maybe you should send in your resume? Learning Japanese would really help too...as would being Japanese, but that's only if you really want to get technical.
@curtain_swoosh Yeah, I wouldn't put it past collectors to make it highly profitable for scalpers to snag this cardboard and sell it at an inflated price. How much just the box will be worth, who knows? But, at least percentage wise, resale value is sure to be pure profit given how low the buy-in is.
At least they're up front about it. If people want to buy just the box then...cool? They can do what they want.
It looks like Nintendo is getting into the all-too-commonplace habit of releasing a special edition console without the game itself though. It's not a dealbreaker, but I miss the days when one could always expect something like this to come with the game too.
Agreed. It's not nearly as crippling a shot to the foot as the DRM fiasco was shaping up to be, but it's still not great. What are the odds of MS backpedaling on this too?
They can, but they don't have a case so it would be a waste of time and resources. GF doesn't own the monster-catching genre. If Temtem just took and modified Pokemon assets, then yes, I can see them doing that. But an entire original IP that just happens to be in the same genre? No. By that logic Marvelous should have sued over Stardew Valley. They wouldn't have had a case either. Or maybe Capcom should have sued over Mighty Number...nah that would have just been a waste o...
Hmmm...it's hard to say whether I agree with that assessment or not as although I love my Switch a great deal, it has some pretty stiff competition for best Nintendo system. The Switch is a fantastic system, but it's not the only Nintendo system I've been fond of over the years. It's certainly the first one I've had the same kind of obsession with since the original DS. On the other hand, the industry leader of the 4th gen was the SNES, and for good reason. It's ki...
I'm assuming it will continue to do just fine. The Switch is a different kind of system that appeals to a lot of people for a different reason than a system sporting current hardware does. There's room for both kinds of systems in the market, and the Switch makes a great companion to one of those other systems as both it and those other systems offer a different kind of experience and have their perks.
That's not how upgraded models work, unless Nintendo wants to release an entirely new system. But given how well the Switch is doing right now I wouldn't for a good while if I were in their shoes.
So...only about 1/3 of Switch users, if that, given how fast Switch sales are climbing. While Switch sales are commendable, I'm not so sure that the figure for Switch Online memberships is.
Yeah, sorry EA, but you're not who I am inclined to turn to for a mind-blowing next-gen experience unless I want my mind to be blown by just how many MTs a company can fit into one game...and I can read about that last bit without having to check out said game.
Ok, enough with the Stadia articles. We know why it was dead on arrival, so why don't we all just move on?
And we're depending on whoever is currently working at Konami to do it. I see no reason why this shouldn't end well. /s
Implying that it will ever pass the beta stage. It's already dead, so I doubt it.
Riddle me this then. If you had no brand preference or anything that would sway you one way or another, and were looking to buy one of two very similar systems, would you buy the one that has more games that interest you, or the one that has fewer games that interest you?
Their shareholders at MS clearly didn't like that.
Interesting. I have both a PS4 and Switch. I never used remote play with my PS4/Vita, so I doubt I would use this feature on the Switch if it happened, but I'm all for a neat addition to the list of features for both systems for those who would make use of it.
They need to add "says dev" on the end of their headlines if they want to reach gamingbolt level, but yeah, I agree that Forbes makes even them look subtle. Both sites are differently bad.
High end consumers who want to play games that take as much advantage of newer hardware as possible without being held back by previous systems?
MS can do better next gen if they play their cards right, but it will be a real uphill battle if they want to best Sony. It's not impossible, it's just not very likely. What they should be focusing on is making sure they have games to make people want to purchase a XSX over a PS5. That's why they're getting backlash for saying that they have no intention to release any XSX exclusives for at least the first year. Sure, there will be Xbox exclusive titles, but the frugal con...
Eh...yes and no. It's hard to say if the Sony would have created the Dualshock for the original PlayStation had the N64 not proven how useful a joystick can be for 3D games, but it's not as though it was the first system to use a joystick and I'm sure Sony or MS would have thought of the idea eventually regardless. Sony did it better though by having two sticks, both of which were better designed.
Rumble...maybe? That's another feature that I believe wa...
