Of course. It's bringing the franchise into the modern era of cutting content to sell it later as paid DLC. Well, Pokemon is hardly unique in that sense, so...welcome to the modern era I guess? On top of that GF engages in the crooked Nintendo practice of refusing to drop the prices of their games after enough time has elapsed. I'll stick with games that are complete when they launch and won't still cost the launch price years later, thank you.
Who else is looking forward to pre-ordering a PS5?
I’m a multi-format gamer who currently has a PS4, a PC and a Switch in addition to all my older systems. I just like having the option to play whatever I want to play. They were all a one-time cost. What can be unhealthy from a financial standpoint is over-spending on games that just get backlogged indefinitely, but who does that? *Looks at backlog.* Hmmm...maybe I do have a problem.
Agreed.
They should count their blessings if they do well enough to qualify as a competitor next gen. You may as well be hoping for them to have their cake...and the moon too.
Up here in Canada the price for one of the games plus its DLC costs almost $120 in our currency. WTF?
With the difference between PS4 and XB1 sales, I’m pretty sure it’s safe to say Sony doesn’t need to “learn a thing or two” from anything MS is doing. If anything, it’s the other way around.
It’s dead! It can’t succeed because it’s dead!
I would say Phil does, but I'm pretty sure he actually cares more about boosting his own ego than the product he's promoting.
If they actually have impressive numbers, I can't think of any reason why they wouldn't want to share them. So, I have my doubts.
MS: Brags about specs.
Also MS: "Why do you want to know specs?"
Thanks for confirming that the "leaks" should be taken with a grain of salt. We already knew that though.
Well...people told a large corporation they want more content in their game. Said large corporation realizes the potential for profit and fulfills the request...with the added caveat that it will be through paid DLC. On the plus side, we may eventually have the full National Dex in the games. On the other hand though, there will probably be a slew of DLC packs, all of which are paid, and which as a whole may end up costing more than the base game when all is said and done.
Well, maybe we will bump into each other while playing Temtem.
Yeah...what are the odds we will be seeing more of these expansions? GF clearly knows what they're doing here.
I see...what was originally thought to be laziness was actually just a ploy to make more money. I’m sure it will work too. What are the odds of GF pulling a Fire Emblem and having a bunch of DLC added over time that adds up to more than the cost of the actual game?
Oh yeah, the PS4 did launch in NA before it launched in Japan. I recall playing at least one Japanese-developed game before it came out in Japan.
Big corporations that can afford a loss of this scale still won't likely toss money at something they're certain won't be profitable. Why would they want to spend money they don't need to when their goal is clearly to have more money, not less of it? By that logic, the CEO of every big corporation should just toss money into the streets as they can clearly afford to do that. The Stadia doesn't even make much sense as an experiment, as it's much easier and far less e...
It's kind of funny that with a trend of dubs falling by the wayside, the series that didn't originally have dubs got one for a recent spinoff, and now it will potentially get one again.
At least the creators of Digimon plan on adding more Digimon to their game and not removing any. Also, calling it a knockoff of Pokemon is selling it short. It's a decent series that rests on its own merits, thank you. It's also doubtful that Bandai Namco see it as much of a competitor since they still don't think the series is mainstream enough to warrant a dub (which is making it hard to recommend to certain friends and family). Granted, that's still voice acting the Po...
Grimgrimoire is interesting. It starts off as a little too much like Harry Potter...if Hermione was the only main character, and instead of being able to time travel at will it kind of just happens on a loop. But then the story picks up and it gets interesting to say the least. I don't think it's the best piece of videogame storytelling, but it's definitely worth checking out for those who have the means to.
