Well, I must be losing my mind. I misread the headline as "The NES Zapper is an actual gun that fires real bullets", and I clicked the article thinking "that can't be right", only to find that the story actually does make sense as it's actually about a glock someone modified to look like an NES Zapper, not some impossible secret about the actual accessory. Maybe it's about time I hit the hay...

Well, even though ME2 and 3 are my favourites in the series, largely because they expand on the story and add other features, I kind of missed being able to explore the surface of planets in the Mako. Sure, that got repetitive after a while, but later games just didn't allow the same kind of exploration of various planets and so visits to those worlds lost at least that one aspect of their charm. They made up for it by further fleshing out the universe of ME, but I would love to have an...

I think MS has really been trying, but they shot themselves in the foot early on and only have themselves to blame for that. At least the XB1 is a decent system now thanks to their efforts, but it kind of ended up being a poor man's PS4. Still, it has some decent exclusives, and it's really the disaster of the early reveal and the decision to declare war on the consumer (who would be buying their product) that took them out of the running for first place this console war. On the pl...

All this news reveals is that I'm better off getting a gaming PC than an XB1 as my next system purchase to go with my PS4, and a dedicated gaming laptop is something I've been contemplating investing in for quite some time now, so I didn't need this article to tell me that.

I didn't know this was ported to PC. I'd call it a poor man's Persona, but my opinion of this title isn't quite as high. I don't think there's a single character in this game that isn't a cliched archetype, and it's a pretty graphically poor game. Random encounters just make the game repetitive, and having Erin Fitzgerald and Yuri Lowenthall voice the two supporting characters who are around at the start of the game just calls further attention to the fact t...

I don't blame Kojima. Not only does he have bad memories of past projects but so many people either tried to recreate P.T. or make a game like it that it isn't as creative anymore as it was. We don't really know how Silent Hills would have turned out, but I think Kojima is capable of producing a quality horror title whether it's the game we were anticipating or not.

Also, am I the only one who thinks MGS should have ended with 4? The games made since have...

I think the original game got a lot of unwarranted flack simply because people had high expectations of it. I think it was expected to be a title that really showcased what the PS4 could do, and act as a must have exclusive for the system. Realistically, Knack was never meant to be that. It was just meant to be a charming, family friendly puzzle platformer that's simultaneously a tribute to Pixar and Dreamworks flicks, and the platforming titles of old. It was never meant to be Shakes...

Agreed, and no, casual games do not belong in any serious gaming conversation, at all. I wonder what the author of this article is smoking because I want some, and I don't smoke. If more people play games on their iPad than on consoles that just proves there are more casual gamers than gamers with actual credibility.

Well, I'm not that into FF to be honest. I think it's ok, but then again I was late to the JRPG scene, and at that time Persona 3 and 4 won me over almost instantly. I credit FF as the big name brand of JRPGs, but it's going to be Persona 5 all the way for me.

Not one of these articles again. Once smartphones can offer the same experience as handhelds I will accept them as the successor to them. In the meantime, they need at least a few modifications, not the least of which is a proper control scheme. Dedicated handhelds may fall by the wayside, but that doesn't mean smartphones will be ideal successors. It will be a sad day indeed when that happens, and I refuse to click on some third rate article by someone who's clearly too casual to...

What decade did the 360 dominate? The 7th gen didn't start till the middle of the decade, the first half of which clearly belonged to Sony with the PS2. It didn't even dominate the second half of the decade, as it was ultimately outsold by both of its competitors. Perhaps there was a three year period where it was the most talked about system in core gamer circles, in NA, but that eventually died down and the system ultimately failed to outsell even the PS3 worldwide. Sure, it was...

This^ Why is this such a hard concept for seemingly everyone else to grasp? Heck, it installs automatically if the disc is in. I'll only keep a game till I'm finished with it, unless it's a multiplayer game I'm playing at least semi-regularly. Actually, I'm more of a singleplayer gamer but ongoing multiplayer games are really the only cases where I can see wanting to keep game data from disc based games that will automatically re-install if placed in the system again a...

I'm sorry, but the DRM fiasco was the biggest treason committed by a console manufacturer. Cut slack for what? Being arrogant enough to think they singlehandedly define the industry? They really needed to be knocked down a few pegs, and they were. That's the only reason why the XB1 is even a remotely decent system now, let alone one that is competitive with the PS4. Heck, if they didn't smarten up and stop being d-bags, I'm sure the XB1 would have fared even worse than th...

People will complain about anything. I don't really care that much about multiplayer, and I have a large enough backlog without time-sensitive PS Plus games, so I don't currently have Plus, but my experience when I had it was quite positive. The free games encouraged me to check out some titles I wouldn't have otherwise, and I enjoyed the discounts. I believe the cost of the service was more than paid for in saving on titles I would have otherwise paid more for, and got to keep...

First of all, HD ports are not remakes. If professionals in the industry start misusing the word, then I guess I can't blame gamers for it. Second of all, Mass Effect is a series that needs to be ported to new systems, not because it isn't great as is, but because it would be nice to be able to play it on newer systems, not that I'm unhappy with my PS4 or anything. I'm really thinking more of others though. There's a reason why I still keep my PS3 around, other than th...

This again? The horse died a long time ago, so stop beating it. Yes PS4 players get the better deal because we will not only have access to the definitive edition like XB1 players, but we will also get to play Uncharted 4 and that's not coming to the XB1. Neither is SF5 for that matter. I can deal with waiting for a game that's coming to my system of choice eventually anyways.

Wow, that was a lucky break. I don't plan on parting with my PS2, but I've never had a GameCube of my own(I know people who did mind you). I'd gladly have taken that box. Good for you sir.

Agreed. This would have been a much better list if it had just been top 10 modern titles that could be beaten in one sitting. Older titles from the 8 or 16 bit era don't really count because most games from that era were short with RPGs and lengthy adventure titles such as the Zelda series being notable exceptions. Also, I hate the format of this site.

Agreed. Besides, all those classic games are games already purchased and enjoyed. Any you still happen to have around are already purchased, and so no longer benefit Konami financially. Classics you don't have but wish to acquire will likely be acquired used anyways so they don't get one red cent from any of those purchases. Digital purchases do benefit them , but they aren't the only option if you have the proper systems. But above all else, as you have so eloquently stated,...

That's good news. I'd love to see a formal apology from them in writing but I doubt that's going to happen. It is kind of incredible how much cred Konami managed to lose in such a short period of time despite the lasting legacy of awesomeness they have had for decades. I'd say it's even more incredible than my friend's amazing inabIlity with technology and that's saying a lot considering he managed to mess up an iPad. However, it takes an extra incredible CEO t...
