Do they mean an advantage in underpowered hardware? Because Nintendo is good at that.

I love the Vita, and as I've said before it's actually highly successful in Japan. You'd never know it's supposed to be a "dead system". Not like here where Best Buy officially lost my business out of principle for not carrying it, following various other department stores. EB Games kind of has a few Vita titles but no memory cards, but at least they're trying. There's a reason why Amazon is my favourite retailer now though.

And this is news how? Everyone knows MS always spends more on ads than their competition. It just makes them look bad when the XB1 still manages to sell less than the PS4.

Interesting...the voice actors clearly don't know how to pronounce the word "neko", and mispronounciation of Japanese words sounds like nails on a chalkboard to me, but I think more Japanese inspired Western products should be encouraged so I'll at least follow this one, and I need something to play on my new PC anyways...

Ugh, the title of this article is misleading and I'm not clicking such clickbait. Whether or not the Switch is Ninty's last console will hinge on its success and official statements from Nintendo stating that they're not making console sales anymore. Even if they were to say that now, that statement wouldn't hold much water as they can easily do a 180 down the road if the Switch sells well, which it may not. At this point it's pointless conjecture to try and speculate w...

Ok, that title is clickbait and not remotely true. The article only indicates a decline in Console sales, but not a complete abandoning of consoles. At least the PS4 is continuing to do well. Maybe the decline is just due to Sony's competition failing to compete with them.

I now have a decent gaming PC and the XB1 offers too little variety for me beyond what Steam offers. At least the PS4 has plenty of exclusives, and I'll definitely still get plenty of use out of it. I just don't have an incentive to get another console at this point. Maybe I'll get the Switch once it goes down in price as I skipped the WiiU, but only time will tell if it lives up to the hype, even if I ignore the abysmal launch event for the system.

I like the idea of a nature sim, especially since playing Tokyo Jungle, and am surprised there aren't too many games in this genre. However, this game just looks unfinished. I'm all for smaller indie titles, but if they're going to spring for a 3D sandbox world, why not put in the time and resources to have proper animations? Mechanically the game looks simplistic, but not in a good way. The hit detection is way off, but it favours the black tiger, making the player super OP. ...

Should I act surprised? The Pro just released and the PS4 is home to way more exclusives, both current and upcoming, than the competition. I'm sure 2017 will look even better for the system. Now that I have a decent PC for Steam, an Xbox would be pretty useless for me, but I do expect my PS4 will still be getting a lot of use. I finally started Uncharted 4 this week.

What needs to be announced for the Scorpio is games, whether they be exclusives or enhanced titles like with the Pro. It could have all the power in the world but if the software support isn't there then it won't stand a chance against the Pro. I think the XB1 in general needs more exclusives.

Neat! That's an obscure reference to Nintendo's roots! I actually made the pilgrimage to their original headquarters when I was in Japan.

Videogames are part of what has been termed "adult kinderculture" in the social sciences, which is the rise in popularity of a lot of things traditionally seen as "for kids" among older audiences. It has picked up a lot of steam in the last few decades and has become an unstoppable force in the 2000s and 2010s. All of this nonsense about "the general public" thinking something like gaming is a pastime for kids and teens can be attributed largely to older genera...

Well, there are children in This War of Mine...which I guess somehow makes it a children's game. I'm really just grasping at straws trying to reverse-engineer s3arch's logic.

Wow, this is the first sensationalist article I've clicked the link for in a long time...and it certainly wasn't worth it. The entire article is anti-Sony BS that even cites the 2011 hack as if that's something people other than anti-Sony trolls are somehow still talking about 5+ years later.

Oh, and the only thing on their list I actually think much of and strongly agree with is that the PlayStation Store ought to have a better search function. Actually, on...

What videogame console sales crash? This is the first I've heard of this. The PS4 is doing amazingly well and even the XB1 is doing just fine, so what crash?

3443d ago 1 agree0 disagreeView comment

I hope it's not a full exclusive. I'm interested in the Switch but the jury's still out on whether I'll get one. I was interested in the WiiU too but decided to get a cheap laptop for Steam instead. More to the point though, so many people have been waiting for a followup to Beyond Good and Evil that it will be a disservice to everyone if it never becomes available on their system of choice. Of course first and foremost I'll just be happy if this game actually happens....

I think the answer is obvious and journalism has hit an all time low if it needs to even ask a question that everyone knows the answer to.

Finally? Where was this guy the last few holiday seasons? It has been a veritable shutout in favour of the PS4 and that hasn't changed this year.

3449d ago 12 agree0 disagreeView comment

Nope. No year has been the year of the XB1 so far, and the only potential trump card is the Scorpio but that's not coming till far too late in the year to skew it in the XB1's favour. The Pro will be the only 4K console on the market till then, and far more PS4 exclusives are announced than XB1 exclusives, so no one in their right mind could possibly think that 2017 will be the year of the XB1, and these fanboy articles are getting old.

I'm surprised to hear that's supposed to be Sony's last retail game for the Vita in Japan as everyone here might be surprised to know that the system is thriving there. Yeah, I know. I went to Japan in May and you'd never know the Vita's supposed to be a dead system as it's just as big as any other system there. I still defend the Vita as a solid system for Japanese games, but it doesn't surprise me that that's the case since success in Japan is probably a b...
