On the other hand, having some games possibly be exclusive to the newer system is exactly what I've criticized the Scorpio for, so I'm glad Sony isn't doing that. All the more reason why I think MS doesn't get console gaming anymore. We don't want to have to check software to see if it works with our model, or we might as well just get a PC.
You know what else is a brilliant idea? Dropping Xbox since you really only care about PC gaming now MS...
They had a great E3 for hardware. I'm going to have to strongly disagree about their software presentations which is the most important part for me, and what they did show that I liked will play just as well on my PS4.
Yes they have, since their plan is most likely to leave console gaming behind altogether.
I think they're transitioning to leaving the console market already. The Scorpio is proof that they don't understand console gaming anymore. Console gamers don't want "hardware options" with their consoles. We want one console that plays all relevant games equally well. I honestly see Xbox being dropped within a decade, if it's even still around in 5 years.
Funny how the XB1 can supposedly be in a dominating situation and still trail the PS4 in sales by a considerable amount....
As for PC gaming, that's a whole other market, and one I'm sure MS will abandon the console market for entirely before too long. Yeah, I honestly don't see Xbox being around much longer. Xbox fans would be wise to support the Scorpio if they'd rather Sony not hold a veritable monopoly on the console market before too long with Nintend...
Well, if Phil Spencer isn't giving Xbox too much credit, as if everything they do singlehandedly revolutionizes the videogame industry, he's trying to downplay the Xbox's loss to PlayStation this gen. Sorry Phil, videogame gens are still a thing, you're just out of rhythm with the rest of the console industry, and I wouldn't be surprised if MS abandons the console market within the next 5 or so years to focus exclusively on PC gaming. I will concede that I respect how we...
Yeah, I'm not clicking the link, but judging by the comments my hypothesis appears to be correct that this piece is a crybaby article about the game not being available on Xbox, and a sign that some people should not be games journalists. I for one will be enjoying the game when it hits because I have a PS4 and the author of this article should really consider getting one. There's always Black Friday if you can't afford it right now...
Please be awesome like the PS2 Spider-Man 2. If done right it has the potential to be even better given that this is an 8th gen title. I'm glad Insomniac is handling this one.
Someone should give MS the memo that this is how you do an E3 press conference. Fancy hardware is great and all, but if you don't announce any games to go with it, it's a waste of our time. This may not be my favourite PlayStation press conference of all time, but it does reaffirm why I love PlayStation. It's all about games for me. Actually, MS's press conference did have a couple games that I'm looking forward to, but they're multiplats that I'll be enjoying ...
And the Scorpio, which is rumoured to have a greater disparity in power from the original XB1 is not being criticized because...
Such hypocrisy. Besides, regardless of whether all of the rumors regarding the Neo and its specs turn out to be true or not, Sony doesn't just ditch its older systems, and if the Neo is indeed an upgraded PS4 then I'm sure Sony will tread lightly to make sure current PS4 owners don't feel shafted. I'm thinking it will have more ...
I tried really hard to hear out the author of this article, but it's clear that they didn't pass high school English. Also, it's total fanboy clickbait.
Well, I actually wouldn't be too surprised if MS were to abandon the console market entirely before too long. It would be a smart business move for them too since that's where they make more money. Sony on the other hand would be wise to stick with the PlayStation brand as they're killing it in sales with considerably less spent on marketing than MS. Yeah, MS can probably afford another gen or two pretty easily, even if their systems continue to play second fiddle to the latest...
You sir have a lot to learn about retro gaming. Authenticity is a big part of the experience, and the author of this article clearly went out of his way to get the best experience while still maintaining the authenticity of the games he wants to play. How would a phone offer a remotely authentic experience? This is a videogame news site so I suggest you leave your casual nonsense at the door.
Agreed. And ND doesn't care what trolls like the author of this article have to say because not only is there no value in it, but ND makes boatloads of cash anyways, thanks to fans like myself who do support them.
How is the XB1 dead in the water? The chances of it winning the console war now are practically zero but it has still done reasonably well. Well enough in fact that I doubt MS cares about placing a distant second.
The PS4 is ahead by how many millions? I've honestly lost count, but I know it's enough that the PS4K won't magically cause the PS4's lead to evaporate. The bigger question is when journalists like this will finally get the therapy they need so that they can accept that the PS4 has won this gen and move on.
I actually have a piece lined up that takes a different position, which is that Sony's supposed new console isn't worth crying over at this point of time, at least until we know more details, but I'm not purposefully in opposition to my co-writer, who actually wrote an excellent piece supporting his point of view, and if you actually read the article, it's not just one big rant about the PS4 Neo or PS4K or whatever you wish to call it, but actually addresses an underlying issu...
I honestly have no clue what journalists like this author are doing anymore. I mean, they just don't get it. In fact, no one does, because we know very little about Sony's proposed new PS4 model and we can cry foul as soon as we know for absolute certain that there will be games that require the new system to run or don't run as well on existing PS4s. Actually, we don't even know for certain that there is a new model in the pipeline, though I won't be surprised if that ...
Finally, someone who speaks sense. I get disagrees for speaking the truth. Sometimes I feel like the only actual gamer here. I for one don't care for MS's strategy with Xbox either, and I certainly don't like the idea that not all games will be compatible with all Xbox models. If I want to deal with that BS I'll get a gaming PC, which I might just do. I'm not opposed to supporting MS, but I'm not supporting Xbox anymore. The latter probably won't be around mu...
