I'm not going to click the link but as long as one of those three groups of people are gamers, I don't care. Casuals aren't really gamers and though it's doubtful they would want to shell out more money for the Pro, they were never the intended market for it anyways. Actual gamers on the other hand...
Umm...this is technical jargon that I don't speak so I'm not even going to bother clicking the link. What is the point of this article and what does it mean in English? What relevance does it have to the overall experience of the PS4 Pro? Aren't HDDs just places where games and data are stored so what difference does "speed" make?
That's amazing considering the low percentage of Japanese gamers who invest in consoles. The Pro is that good.
Well, on the plus side we have more time to pay off our pre-orders, especially those of us who decided to get the collector's edition. Also, those of us with girlfriends/boyfriends won't have to rack our brains for ways to blow off our partner on Valentine's Day without ending up in the doghouse or coming across as a douche. I do wish my gf understood what being a gamer is all about, but I guess that particular dilemma is averted.
I generally play games in E...
Came back to bite Sony how? With more sales? I'm sure they're feeling that "pain" right about now and would welcome a lot more of it.
The console market leader is losing its competitive edge? If you say so. Sales figures strongly disagree but reality is what you make it, so it's your decision if you want to ignore real world data.
^This. Maybe the author feels that Sony hasn't quite nuked the competition enough. Maybe they should achieve the impossible like getting 90% of the console market share. Maybe pigs should be flying. Sony has done just fine and will continue to do well, especially once more of their upcoming titles hit the market. Oh, and PS4 sales tripled with the launch of the Pro. I agree that we should be seeing doom and gloom articles about the other two instead.
Well, between this an the Mass Effect collector's editions, what's going on with pre-orders?
I read the article, but I'm confused. What is Nintendo supposed be doing to Sony and MS exactly? Why are we supposed to be stunned? I'm all for nostalgia for classic Nintendo games, and think it's great that the NES Mini is bringing back 30 games in its library in an authentic feeling console, but how is a novelty item going to impact sales of the big consoles this holiday season? Maybe Ninty will have something once their actual new console launches but a niche product isn...
I would have rather Hillary won but a Trump presidency isn't the end of the world. A woman will likely become president sometime in the future. Trump's plans may be unorthodox but he can't be too much worse than Bush, who the US survived 8 years under. We don't even know if Trump will make it to four years without resigning after buckling under the pressure of the job part of being president that he might not have realized he signed up for. If he does make it to four years...
Translation: MS hasn't been doing nearly as well in the console market as they have done in the PC market so they'll probably embrace that and leave console gaming to the companies that are doing better in that market, if the Scorpio doesn't succeed as well as they're hoping. It's kind of clear that the Scorpio is their last ditch effort to find their footing in the console market.
I'm sure MS can afford to keep going regardless of how well it sel...
Microsoft's Xbox division might commit suicide. MS as a company would be fine as they're far bigger than just Xbox and certainly aren't anywhere close to being just one failed product away from bankruptcy.
I really enjoyed The Order. I just kind of feel it's a tad too short and ended abruptly. Not to mention, the story doesn't quite feel complete yet, so I do hope we get a sequel.
I wonder if this thing can handle digital Wii U titles or remastered ports that require the use of both the TV and the tablet screen? For that to work the system has to be in both TV and portable mode at the same time...
Well, here is the list of features I want:
Making good on the portable/console idea
A decent lineup of NX games
Backwards compatibility with WiiU games (and maybe even 3DS as well though I have a 3DS while I skipped the WiiU so...)
Merging of handheld and console eShops (it would be nice to be able to play GBA games on a legit handheld again)
A decent sized HDD
No gimmick that's central to gameplay
If it makes good o...
I've always preferred physical media, though at this point my preference less passionate than it used to be. At first, when digital downloads came to consoles I scoffed at the idea and it took me a while to warm up to it. Then I bought digital downloads but only for games that weren't available in physical form. Then I started buying full retail digital releases, it only if they went on sale for a really low price. Then for certain systems, mostly handhelds, I would start buying ...
Wow, good on you for trying a series you've never played before. I often feel awkward doing it, but I've come cross some great games that way. I haven't been the biggest Pokemon fan in years but I might consider giving this one a try.
Does it need to be revolutionary? It's an upgrade for people who's want it while not making current PS4 owners feel shafted. I'm pretty sure it doesn't need to be revolutionary to be successful, and we'll see just how out of touch these sensationalist sites are when November hits.
I expect XB1 to win in NA and probably the UK until the Pro releases. I don't strictly believe that the Pro singlehandedly invalidates the PS4 Slim, but that's mostly because the Slim invalidates itself by bringing nothing new to the table while the XB1S does offer some minor updates to the original. Combine that with a series of deals and MS has a winning formula. The Pro is the legit PS4 upgrade though so we'll see what happens when it hits.
I'd love to see pigs fly but reality doesn't always work the way we want. It's equally possible Phil Spencer was just showing respect for Nintendo though and this sensationalist site spinned his statement into something more than it was meant to be.
