The system with the most units sold, not just in total but month-after-month will get left behind? If you say so. Cross platform multiplayer would be nice, but it's not a feature that will make or break Sony, especially since they are still beating the competition.
Sony isn't in a rush. The PS4 is doing really well. There are rumours that they're sending out PS5 dev kits, and it wouldn't surprise me if that were true. That doesn't mean they're rushing out the PS5 though. Dev kits are often sent out up to a couple years in advance. People keep forgetting that if devs have to wait until hardware is released to the public to work with it, or even until it's officially announced, there will be no launch games. Sending out dev k...
Well, opinions are allowed. I don't have a Switch yet so I haven't played BotW, but from what I've played OoT is still my favourite. There's no law that states you have to think the latest Zelda game is the best. Note, I won't have an opinion on it until I play it. But, I don't recall ever playing a game in this series I didn't love. Comparing games in this series is like comparing precious stones. You can argue over which one is best, but they're all gre...
@Kavorklestein And? How is that relevant to a discussion on game sales/profits? Oh, right, you're probably one of those fools who is quick to blame videogames rather than trying to actually understand why things like school shootings happen. Any scapegoat will do, right?
I'm sure Rockstar's not too upset about that as the fact that their game is even considered by some to be in the same ballpark as the most profitable entertainment product says a lot about how successful it has been. Also, "biggest selling" and "most profitable" while not mutually exclusive, don't mean the same thing. Games with DLC and MTs have more opportunity to generate profit than other kinds of entertainment, and that can be accomplished without having ...
This is the second such article I've seen lately, and I'm glad Tomba's getting a lot of love. I'd also really like to see Syphon Filter get remade/rebooted with modern aesthetics and controls. Sign me up if Dino Crisis ever does get the REmake treatment. There actually was a remake of the original Tomb Raider, but a remaster of that would be nice, as would a remake of the 2nd and 3rd games.
I think water levels are way worse than ice levels, personally. Granted, ice is just solid water. I actually really like the aesthetic of ice levels. I just dislike the slippery platforms and enemies with freeze attacks. I'd still take that over water levels anyways. At least you don't have to worry about coming up for air and learning swim controls in ice levels.
Retailers actually often have copies of upcoming games weeks in advance with instructions not to sell them until the street date. It's retail's worst kept secret. I think there are serious consequences to breaking the street date, but I'm sure it's not unheard of for that to happen.
They won't. If dev kits are just being sent out now (assuming the rumours are to be believed), then they're not ready to unveil it this year. Console manufacturers tend to send out dev kits up to a couple years in advance to allow devs to start making games for their upcoming system. If a company like Sony wants to have launch titles, especially of the AAA variety, that's an absolute necessity. There can't be games without time for people to work on them.
4K hasn't quite caught on with everyone, and now people are looking at 8K? I can't keep up with this madness.
That's true. I personally don't go to sales associates because they're useless. The people at EB Games generally have more knowledge than bloody casuals though. I'd defer to them if I didn't know way more than they do.
As a games journalist myself, maybe the problem is people often place too much importance on opinions. Especially companies who are willing to pay under the table to...influence someone's opinion. There may be money in opinions, but they're still just opinions. And yes, their goal is to help people make informed decisions, which means that when publishers influence said opinions some people may be led astray. However, in this day and age I think reviewers are less relevant. It...
I actually think "MMO" no longer refers to a single genre, and much like "open world", is merely an element that a game can be built around. MMO as a genre label worked when MMOs were primarily just RPGs as it was just a shortening of the even longer acronym MMORPG.
But, I'm just being pedantic. For the question at hand, I think the reason why MMOs aren't doing well on consoles is because the devs and publishers behind them are misstepping. Cu...
I think PlayStation's game of the generation is all the fantastic games it has and continues to receive this generation. But, God of War will make a nice addition to all of that.
That wasn't actually an explanation as to why the 3DS version isn't also being localized, but I might check this out on my PS4.
I think you mean five PlayStation classics that should be remade. I love Tomba and its sequel, and wish that series would make a comeback...even though Whoopee Camp is dead. Sigh. I think there might have to be a change to Charity Square though, if you know what I mean. I can't believe that passed even the ESRB, but I doubt it would happen again.
I also really like the Syphon Filter series, so yes. Dino Crisis 1&2 with a complete overhaul would also be awesome. ...
Are you kidding? They've been flexing their financial muscle a lot. Even more so than the competition actually. What they should be doing is investing their capital in such a way that will increase sales. I think investing in the current console war is fruitless at this point, but they can help move more XB1 units with proper investment in exclusives, and if they do decide to put out another system next gen, they have the opportunity to set it up for better success. It's not abou...
And yet he still left Bioware. Hmmmm...
It's also worth noting that Dracula X Chronicles contains the original game too. I disagree with Game Sack about the 2.5D aesthetic of the remake as I don't mind it at all. I think both versions of this game are great though. I'm glad I scored a bargain bin copy of this game for $10 new several years ago.
