The XB1 isn't all that big in Japan though. Some Japanese support would be good for the system, but for the same reason third party support in general would be good for the system. MS's system doesn't need Japan specifically. They could stop ignoring the potential for more first and third party Western titles too. In fact, they're actually sitting on some decent first party studios. Maybe they could actually use them for a change. Just a thought. Games sell systems, and...
I wasn't prompted for an update either. Maybe one is coming tomorrow for the PS3 version with the PS Store update? I guess we'll see.
I have the PS3 version, lol. I actually decided to replay the game in its original glory...though I remember it looking better the first time around. Oh well, I suppose I should have expected it to look a little classic next to the sequel, which I have on PS4. Still a fun game though. I'm glad I own PS2 copies of GTAIII, VC and SA as those can't be touched by updates. I just need to get my PS2's disc drive repaired one of these days.
I made sure to download the previous update before this one went live. Now I'll just ignore the update prompt on startup.
Why can't they release systems that do both really well? Quality gameplay and story doesn't mean a game can't also look great. Nintendo's doing well in spite of having weaker hardware because they are doubling down on gameplay and the hybrid aspect helps too. However, the PS4 is still number one and outsells the Switch every month because it has the best of both worlds. A wide variety of games with a wide range of appeal can go hand-in-hand with capable hardware. The XB1 ...
Same here. Or heck, if you could just swipe the touchpad to scroll, that would be awesome.
Beat 'em up RPGs do exist. It's just a pity that if you don't have the Scott Pilgrim game you'll never be able to play it. If you count medieval style games which are more like kill-em-ups, there's the excellent Dragon's Crown that's getting re-released on the PS4.
Ok. Good for the highest-engagement last place console.
Who would have figured? This just in: games sell game systems.
Services are fine and all, but that's not what the XB1 is lacking right now.
I think there's a specious argument that the second year is just as important as the first, as the hype train has since docked at the station and at that point a system has to start depending on its own merits if it wants to keep its momentum going. Thankfully for the Switch, it seems to be doing just that.
Good for them, but those increases could be so much higher if they actually played their cards right.
There were actually pretty cool things you could do with memory cards that you can't do with HDDs. My friend and I used to play Tekken 5 at his place and I could face his characters with custom costumes with my own as they were on my memory card.
Having the complete game is the number one thing I miss though. I also miss instruction manuals, not needing updates or patches and being able to play games right away once they're placed in the system's disc drive or...
Five reasons to get a PS4 instead of complaining that PlayStation exclusives aren't coming to the XB1.
I'd also be very frightened to live in a world where driver training amounts to a YouTube vid. Thankfully that's not a thing because no one in their right mind would believe that you can know how a car feels simply by watching a vid. On a side note, a YouTube vid is sadly, probably the closest thing the vast majority of us get to actually experiencing a drive in a Ferrari but I would never presume to believe I know how one feels just by watching such a vid.
Agree to disagree. Only those actually playing the game can know how it feels. Also, games with narrative choices are better to actually play because you can actually make those choices instead of watching someone else make them, while games with character customization are better to actually play because you can actually customize your character yourself instead of watching the character someone else created. Face it, watching someone else play only grants part of the experience. Sure, y...
Isn't that true of all games, and media in general? This just in: CoD is targeted towards FPS fans, Ni no Kuni II is targeted towards JRPG fans, and yes, this game is targeted towards an audience that enjoys games with a strong focus on the narrative. Your point?
I have a 1080P TV and a base model PS4, I don't sit right up close to the screen, it's highly unlikely that my vision is anything special, and I've never had a problem with reading text in videogames. Are you sure this is a 4K pandemic? Weren't people complaining about something similar last gen when some continued to use SD TVs to play games? Is 1080P the new SD now?
I love that we don't celebrate Golden Week here, but still get sales on Japanese games while it's on.
I would hope not. God of War is not survival horror, so it shouldn't play like a survival horror game.
