Humans suck. That's why I spend so much of my free time playing videogames. Sure, there are plenty of humans I like, but I'm not opposed to fiction that portrays the dark side of our species.
Sounds like our industry needs to grow up and accept that AO games are ok. Obviously there's some old fool with an outdated mindset pulling the strings behind the scenes who has the console manufacturers and even Gabe Newel spooked should they ever allow that particular rating, but I can't for the life of me understand why. Why does this rating exist for one if it's just akin to an outright ban? Also, shouldn't a rating like that be allowed in an industry where most gamers ...
Fanboyism isn't the only reason why someone might not own every console. Not everyone has a Swiss bank account that can be used to purchase systems left and right without any concern over cost. The XB1 is a multiplat machine where most of its "exclusives" are available on Steam and I've got a perfectly good PS4 for everything else. I might get a Switch eventually for its exclusives but I'm a little mad at Nintendo for sitting on what's potentially the best legacy ...
Doesn't this new collection include the Toejam and Earl games? I'm actually looking forward to finally beating Biohazard Battle. Also, while I bought the Ultimate Genesis Collection largely for the Sonic games I actually ended up spending way more time with other titles many of which I never even heard of until that collection came out. That and Sonic 3 and Sonic and Knuckles were only playable separately due to lock-on not being featured. I would actually like to see Sega release...
People often forget that the lifecycle of one system doesn't immediately end once a new system is rolled out, or at least that's not how Sony typically does things. The PS4 will most definitely co-exist with the PS5 for a time, as the PS3 did with it, as the PS2 did with the PS3 and as the PS1 did with the PS2.
Strangely, I'm with you on Lair. I wish it wasn't crippled by bad ideas, but there were some good ones in there too.
I actually think a Syphon Filter reboot on the PS4 could be awesome. Oh, and Jak and Daxter should come back. Sly as well. Sly 4 ended on a cliffhanger. Heavenly Sword? That had potential. Legend of Dragoon, definitely. I kind of liked Patapon. If titles from this gen count as forgotten past titles I would like to get the second half of The Order: 1886.
Cool. I've never watched an EA conference so why start now?
@DivineAssault So what you're telling me is I should look into emulation rather than giving Nintendo any more money for now. Got it. I don't own a Switch yet so I'll continue to hold off for now. I'm sure my laptop can handle SNES roms. I prefer to support game companies wherever possible but I'll leave it up to Nintendo to decide if they want my money or not.
I think longevity is great, but I also think something is wrong if you're crunching the numbers rather than focusing on the quality of an experience. Not only are there great games that are often overlooked for being short, which I think is a shame, but all the math in the world can't quantify the best experiences I've had with games over the years.
If you're on a budget and are looking for a game that will last you for a very long time, multiplayer is wher...
My big thing is they're sitting on what's potentially the best legacy system they've ever had, and can release so many classic titles from so many classic systems that the Switch can likely handle, but they're taking forever to do it and when they finally do, they will do it wrong and not give users the option to purchase and own digital copies of these games separate from their online service.
I'm hoping they're just trolling us and actually have ...
15 games that need to come to Switch and be available to purchase separate from Nintendo's online service. Fixed. Also, I prefer SNES and beyond, but that's just me.
I find it interesting that Sega is accomplishing on Nintendo's system what Nintendo is somehow unable to do. How times have changed. I'm still holding out hope that Nintendo isn't being super dense and won't limit their classic games to a Netflix-like service. Here's hoping they will announce plans for retro titles at E3 that gamers will find satisfactory. Either that or they lost the right to complain when people hack their system to add in the features that the syste...
As long as we get a method for purchasing and downloading classic games separate from this service, I don't hold any ill will towards Nintendo or their new service that pretty much just mirrors that of the competition.
For me it varies by location and by employee. Then again I live in Canada and deal with EB Games, but they're the same company. There are people who work at EB Games that I genuinely believe love their job and know their stuff. I wish I could say that was every employee at every location, but I can't. Not even close. Still, it's worth noting that not all of them are useless twats. I think I've met far more useless people at Best Buy, but maybe that's just at the loca...
chris235 Actually, studies suggest that dinosaurs were amazingly adaptable as evidenced by their ability to survive for many millions of years, so that doesn't actually work as a metaphor. Besides, I for one like physical games and will continue to support them as long as they're around. GameStop isn't all roses, I'll admit that. I also admit most of the games I buy intentionally come from Amazon whereas EB Games (the subsidiary of GameStop that operates here in Canada) is ...
Is Tom high? MS has made the least effort in giving gamers what they want because gamers want games and that's why Sony and even Nintendo are mopping the floor with them. The way to combat this is to...invest in games. It's amazing that MS doesn't get this even after years of fans literally telling them this and it's equally amazing that there are Xbox fans who don't understand this either. Yes, power is great and all, but if your system is mostly just a multiplat mach...
I love Persona, and I played the original Strange Journey but while I liked it, I didn't love it. The lazy localization for this one just made my decision not to buy it that much easier.
@TheEnigma313 Kojima also made it clear that he didn't want to make another MGS game, but Konami made him work on MGS5 anyways, whereas his heart was in previous titles. It's not that difficult to figure out what went wrong here.
Do people think about historical accuracy when they blast people in online multiplayer? As long as having more avatar choices doesn't affect the gameplay I'm cool with it. I'm less cool with the prospect of MTs in this game, but that's a topic for another time.
