Why is anyone comparing this game to resistance 2? they are not even the same genre really, and the platforms are different.. isn't their enough troll wars without simply making another one?
Like any REAL gamer, I intend to play both and enjoy them for waht they are.

I'm early in the game, but for the record, its great, looks good and plays as sublime as it ever did. If I had to criticize, it does feel 'on rails' at the moment, but I'm hoping that will change as I get furth...

Seems pretty fair from what I've played so far.

I have to admit - I don't care for the characters or the story one bit - but I didn't for GOW1 and it didn't stop me enjoying that.

I'm still early in the campaign, but I have to say, compared with most shooters I do feel like its on rails. Not got any sense of freedom so far, so I'm hoping that will change. But it does look great, and the mechanics are just as good as ever they were, so its a satisfying ride so far and...

Seems pretty fair to me.

If you loved Fable 1 you'll love it as its very similar, but looks better and has some great new touches.

If you didn't really get on with the original, this won't convert you.

It is still rough in places, and technically there a whole slew of games that look and move better. It also still has the worst map system of any modern game - they might as well have not bothered at all with it.

But once you've acclimatised ...

Definitely the highlight of E3 360 announcements for me - its a must have purchase for me!

Then sorry, but you really can't be looking! It made double page spreads in two national newspapers and I saw full reports on it, with loads of clips of the game on both Sky news and BBC news.

Then prepare to be happy. I'm 50 hours in and loving every second of it.

Of course the game has the same engine, so there's a certain familiarity if your used to oblivion. But the combat is not even remotely the same and feels rewarding and cool. the VARS system is excellent and makes this far more than a standard FPS shooter. I tend to take cover recharge so I can always use vars to take out enemies. The kind of 'bloody mess' you leave your opponent in is never short of gratifyi...

If you can't see that this game is too 'linear' then you certainly don't know the meaning of a true open world game. The quest is extremely linear, and the fact that you can do some ancillary things does not make it any less so. This was one of my beefs with the original game, and its still true of this sequal. At least you haven't got the annoying voice over constantly nagging you to go and do the mission the game forced you to take, like in the first one.

It's a great game and ...

Sorry - I missed your original point! Yes I guess I'd agree with that.

Though to be honest, it should be disallowed on the grounds of how lame it is. I feel guilty as I gave it the final 2 approval points, instantly regretted it, and couldn't withdraw them (if its fully approved you can't withdraw your approval.)

The pirated version is a retail rip - the code is identical.

You can argue about ethics, but the game being played by pirates is exactly the same as the retail code you will be playing when you buy the disc.

Its a dreadful review, and obviously derived from playing a downloaded version - its been available for a few days now.

The words of the Qur’an are considered to be the word of god himself.

For fundamental Muslims, setting the words of god to music is blasphemy.

Sure - 98% of Muslims would not be offended - the guy singing it was Muslim himself, but we all know how much of a splash those 2% of fundamentalists can make.

Given how badly this could have blown up if it had been taken up as a cause by the extremist minority, it was a perfectly valid decision to pull the game a...

I know I seem to be alone in this, but while its a game that I enjoy and appreciate, I can't help but to have wanted more from it.

Don't get me wrong, I love its art style, it's humor is great, its refreshingly British (I'm a brit), and there are some great touches.
But rather like the first title, there are things that stop this from being utterly brilliant for my tastes.

It's still a bit too linear in its plot development for my tastes.- you don't get any of ...

I think its just because the article is so poorly informed.

When setting brightness and contrast they don't even try and explain what your are setting or why, and the way they explain it will lead to you have very poor black levels that are nowhere near being black!
For a decent black level settings should be made with the backlight off or down as far as it can possible go. Contrast sets how bright the whites are with regard to the black level and should be set near or on m...

In reality all devices have different outputs depending on the video output settings and circuitry they employ.

I can't compare like for like with 360 and PS3 because my 360 is an original day of release version without HDMI, but certainly there are large calibration differences for my HDMI Sony DVD recorder and my Sony PS3.

In reality, I'd suggest each input is clibrated individually for the device you want to use, as I can attest that devices are NOT all the same, ...

Most modern TV's have different settings saved for each input.
I know mine does (Bravia X3500 - XBR4)
As long as you set the settings to custom for each input, then it will remember that setting and change to it each time you switch to that input.

So in my case I have an older Xbox360 (before hdmi) and I get HD from the AV leads and I've calibrated that input with one set of settings, and then I've another bunch of settings for HDMI 1 for my PS3, and yet more for my D...

Once again someone has no idea of what they are talking about when it comes to resolution!!!!

When you switch Gears from 720P to 1080P of course you won't see any difference!!!!!!! If your 360 outputs a 720P signal - your TV will upscale it so that it fills the entire 1920 x 1080 pixels of your screen - otherwise you'd be playing it in a window!!! When your 360 is switched to 1080P output, all thats happening is that your 360 now upscales your signal to 1080P instead of your T...

What an unbelievably stupid and unresearched article this is.
It's this type of unreasearched article that shows why letting muppets write on the net is a waste of everybody's time.

There is a not a single person on the planet with a 1080P TV that doesn't play this game at 1080P resolution - no one plays the game in a window. Weather the upscaling is done by the console or the TV, is absolutely irrelevant.
When I play my Wii I get to play an upscaled image at 1920...

This is still by far my favourite jrpg on the 360, so its great to see that PS3 users have access to it too. Theres not enough added extra's to make me buy and play it again, but its still nice to see the extra storage being used a little.

If you like jrpg's and arn't put oof by 'jap cutesy graphics', you should be playing this....

The only thing I can agree with this article on is that default settings are useless.

In every other way, this article is utterly rubbish and not only gives vaugue advice, but doesn't even attempt to get it right and has little knowledge of what its talking about.

For those who genuinely want to see what they're TV is capable off, I can only add to the comments here urging you to buy a calbration DVD -
I personally use 'Digital Video Essentials', but I'm s...

You should know by now - no one here likes people to make sense.

Your point is irrifutable, but doesn't give the trolls the m,aterial they like to slap each other with, so you'll get nothing but disagrees.

Apart from me I should add, there are one or two people left here who aren't blinded by love or hate for piece of plastic.. :)
