There were tons of games that used the cover system long before GOW ever did. They made it work very nicely, but they certainly didn't invent it as it had been used in a great number of games before.

It certainly works for some. My wife is on it for hours every single day, made loads of friends and loves just hanging out chatting and playing soem pool.....

My launch PS3 has run without glitch since day one despite my wife being on it every hour of the day (I'm lucky if I ever get to have go!)
But I did ring Sony CS when I replaced the Hard drive for a 320gig - like many I found the screws to be really really tight and I couldn't get them out. Though they had to order it, they did send me a replacement drive cage for free. Off course I'd attacked the screws within an hour of hanging up and got them out and the drive upgraded, so by the ti...

I don't even like the thing as a phone, and its utterly trash as a gaming device.
Psp did exactly what everyone said it couldn't - it carved a slice of nintendo's wholly owned hand held market for itself. Anyone pretending that 45 million sales is a disaster needs their head examined...

"measures the "conversation volume" around 2000 brands on various social networking and blogging sites."

So - its really scientific measure then! You got to love the internet and its BS stories about nothing!!! :)
Priceless nonsense...

Oh, I'd say it was necessary!
You are by no means alone in your pathetic posting, and my comments apply to all the pathetic self serving fanboys who have decimated this site with arrogant self proclaimed off topic hate spewings.
There are too many for me to bother replying most of the time, and you can plainly see I hardly post or contribute to this site any more. Real debate and news got pushed to one side by corporate cheerleaders like yourself long ago.
But having ha...

I'm sure I'll really like this as I've played and like their previous games and this game looks great.

I worry about MS's long term stratagey though... if you were in this game for the long run, you would not be closing dowen long established and sucesful game dev studios, it simply doesn't make sense.

You have to laugh..... :)

One of the few things I've enjoyed from the useless fanboy posturing is the odd parody video or song thats been posted on youtube.

Yawn... same old posturing rubbish as always. You might just as well set a macro key to post the comments you do here.
Your a sad sad man...

The game just didn't have it..

It wasn't platformer any more, so it couldn't satisfy those who were real fans fo the series (like me), and what it did offer simply wasn't engaging enough to attract a new audience. Bad game = bad sales. Mostly! :)

We are talking about the performance of the gaming divisions - bottom line profits. The number of products offered is of little relevance from a business point of view!
MS may only be offering one format, but they have plenty of products as they also sell hard drives, battery packs, wifi adapters and make plenty of revenue from live subscriptions as well. The important aspect if your not a 'platform fan boy' is the bottom line of the entire gaming business.
If you can extract yo...

I'm not too sure this offers anything to make it a worthy purchase for 360 owners, who already have a fine catalogue of shooters to choose from. I also doubt any PS3 owners will loose sleep given the iminent arrival of KZ2, which has already proved to many that its 'the real deal'.

I've got no idea why I don't give a fig about my achievements but I care about my trophies. They are such similar ideas that it doesn't make sense to care about one and not the other. But thats the truth of it - for some reason trophies have me playing games for hours trying to get them in a way I've never done with achievements..

Sorry milo but I own and play both and you are plain wrong! In the most important aspect, gameplay, NG2 has the edge and the combat has been even further refined. But it definately looks rougher than sigma did. Its lighting is simply terrible, meaning your charater often looks like he doesn't sit in the environment correctly - something thats not an issue at all with sigma, which also boosts better resolution, and a real technical feat - self shadowing charaters. You won't find that on NG2. ...

Its just utter rubbish. The only machine out there which does not suffer from piracy is the PS3. everything else gets pirated ruthlessly, but no one has cracked the PS3 security measures.
Yet PS3 games are actually often slightly more expspensive than their 360 counterparts, despite zero piracy.
You can pontificate and theorise all you like, but facts is facts and theres no indication at all that prices would be cheaper if it weren't for pirates - thats simply not bourne out by ...

Funny how attach rate is so often used by 360 stalwarts unless it suddenly doesn't suit them...

The real story here is that the attach rate was higher for the PS3 (especially if you look for world wide figures) - despite the fact that MS paid huge sums for exclusive content and consistently promoted that theirs was the only 'full experience' as a result.

Paying a fortune in this way and then finding you have less attach rate cannot be a win in anyones eyes - sure...

This is exactly the type of innovative experience I was hoping we would get with the new gen, but haven't seen enough of. I do hope its a success for them, and if its priced right, I can't see why not!

Six axis was and still is excellent.

The wii controller is an all or nothing thing, you HAVE to use the motion controls even when it hurts the game (as it often does).

By including it in the controller along with standard controls the balance is just right. Its not needed or useful for many games, but when it is its excellent. Brunswick bowling is excellent, the motion sections in HS were fun, the use in KZ2 works really well. When its used to simply compliment a...

No suprises there.

Web surfing at SD resolutions is painful and not really that useful.

Web surfing at 1080P is far more useful and I've actually found the PS3 browser handy when my PC's have been powered off and I need a quick online fix...

... I still find it bizzare that the 360 doesn't have the feature, it would make so much sense for ir to have it and I'd have used it many times..

What an enormous c**ck up. Seriously, this kind of thing should not happen for a world sized organization with the prominence of MS.
Its seriously embarrassing.

I hope all zune owners get the message - I can imagine most won't know whats happened, and end up reformatting the thing... doh!
