I've only spent a few hours with it, but I have an opinion based on what I've played so far.

If you're a hard core JRPG fan it ticks all the right boxes and will keep you happy.
But it feels a little like an 'old school' experience to me - there's nothing here I didn't do on PS2 games, and I don't think the engine or graphics are next gen at all.
My fave on 360 is still Eternal Sonata, but if you've not already played them, Lost Odysee or Blue Dragon are better g...

I'm only at the tribal stage, but I have to say, its an exciting and ground breaking product whatever else it is!

I agree that his response to criticism seems more mature than many, and his thoughts and comments are intelligent and articulate.

Since when has sales meant anything? By that kind of thinking WiFit and brain training are the greatest video games ever made.

Like anything else, games are subjective, so to pretend that things like metacritic scores and sales numbers are all that matter means you are simply a programmable human computer. Maybe you consume what the media tells you you must, but many of the rest of us have varing tastes and don't consume media fashion. Many of the greatest games ever made didn'...

This is daft. There no commercail monitors that even support that resolution, so this means nothing!

..A Geforce 8800 GTX gets 2 FPS!!!! It only gets 20 to 30 fps at 1,680 x 1,050 pixels.....not even true HD.

6354d ago 0 agree3 disagreeView comment

Only top end 30" monitors can support this res.

These monitors cost over £1000, so almost no gamers have one. The most common monitors for PC gaming are not actually even full HD, so most PC games are played at resolutions below the 1920 x 1080 of a good HD telly.

The fact remains, though, if you already have the tech or are prepared to pay for it, you can get extreme performance from a PC!

Not interested in this on PC though - at the mom...

Top game!

I can only hope it sells better than the first title and a few more people are prepared to give it a chance:)

Its not actually a sony specific problem and its unlikely to be related to this single issue.
All Japanese firms are near historical 3 year lows at the moment.. though that obviously won't include Nintendo!

Wow - this looks fun!

I'll admit to not giving my WII a lot of love lately, but it looks like I'll be dusting it off for this one!

Lets hope this is the start of a trend for better 3rd party innovative titles on the platform! :)

I'm sorry I don't accept that at all.

'Jap' is simply an abbreviation of 'Japanese' - in exactly the same way that 'Brit' is an abbreviation of 'British'. There is no racial slur implied or intended, and I've never known anyone to take offense. I would not be in the least offended to be refereed to as a 'brit', and I think it would be completely unreasonable to take offense.

I'd personally love this title.!
I know many Americans prefer to shoot things, but most of the rest of the planet sees wildlfe and want to observe it, not kill it! :)

As a concept, it has enourmous appeal to me, but I do understand Sony's reluctance to release it anywhere but Japan. Jap gamers are more up for differnet concepts, in the west the bulk of consumers want action and huge drama, so many might be dissapointed by this.

I hope many will give it a t...

@nintendojunkie24

Its a shame that a site as useful as N4G is dominated by kids like you.

It is not 'hate' to disagree with an article that makes bold claims such as "Wii is 4 times more powerful than xbox and 7 times more powerful than PS2".

The Wii section is not an exclusive club for people who want a Wii 'love in'. Many of us all own the machines, and I develop for all platforms too. Wii news interests me and I have every right to com...

No - I've seen the game engine demo - High Voltage Quantum3 Tech Demo. No doubt you can google that and watch it for yourself. Nothing to do with the conduit game at all, except that this is the engine the game is built on. So please, learn to read troll.

Secondly, I have never claimed to be a programmer. I'm an artist and animator. If you are going to try and call me out, at least know what you are trying to rebut.

Did I say I worked for Nintendo? NO! I said I w...

Why do I want a movie to throw my chair about?

Talk about totally useless tech..... :)

I really don't know why americans are only just commenting on this?

Its been like this in Europe for absolutely ages. It hasn't really helped the 360 to sell more, and certianly hasn't put any pressure on Nintendo. I'd be suprised if made a huge differnece in the states.. but you never know, it is a different market.

What a stupid poorly misinformed article.

We can all see the engine running - the footage has been available for ages. Its weak and doesn't look very impressive at all. It on par with some original XBOX games.

I worked on a successful first party cube game. When it came time to make a new one for the WII, the asset limits were increased by 10%, no more. People pretending its 4 or five times more powerful than a xbox are totally delusional.

I believe 60 million CD's were sold in the US last year.

That's still big buisness.

More people care about quality than you might think - and theres no comparison in qulaity between the original CD and even the highest bitrate downloads.
For the same reasons, I would not primarilly use DD movies even if the Bandwidth were there to support it (which its not). I notice the differences all too obviously.

What an excellent article.

Nicely written review - actually informative.

I've been a bit busy and haven't actually checked this out yet, but I most certainly will do. It would seem to have the 'essence' of what makes an enjoyable game and will be another great addition to the ever swelling ranks of really good PSN games I have. Good job I've got a 320gig drive! :)
