Some third party games are not selling on PS3 its true, but thats because we're not stupid enough to buy lazy 360 ports. If devs want our money, they better make it run properly of forget any sales, and too many have done a shabby rush port job and given the PS3 a slack conversion. The games that shift better are first party developed titles that are actually programmed properly...
I bought 'Folklore' and and indeed have bought 12 Ps3 titles and am thouroughly enjoying them all. Admitt...

No one else has had the same issue - there are no reports from anyone else of this problem.
Its very likely that the guy has some corrupted code data on his hard drive and should do a fresh HD install. Although rare, this can happen for anyone when copying data....

Well - a review is always going to be subjective.
I don't always cry foul when someone disagrees with my personnel view.
But I do cry foul when a site's view is obviously bought.

The reason many people feel strongly about this is because its yet another example of Microsofts Anti competitive buisness practices. They own Gamespot, precisely so they can dish out bad reviews and affect sales of sony games. Its one of the many reasons I don't vist that site.

The PSP was hacked some time ago and the pirate scene for psp games is absolutely huge.
Piracy on this platform is major issue, much more than for any of the other formats, where pirating requires more effort, or extra hardware.

As far as PS3 sales go - its going to be difficult for us to get a big picture for where sales are due to Halo3/ and various price cuts.
I think its now at a level where sales will be extremely good and I expect it to be shifting significa...

Wow - looks like yet another dreadful engine on PS3. Developers need to get their priorities right and get a smooth running engine before bothering with superflous features! Theres no question that decently coded 60FPS is perfectly achievable with some proper engine developement, so theres no excuse for this.
Looks like fifa for me then....

Its a pipdream - as long as there is a big market, there will be companies trying to get a share of it. Trying to pretend that 'theres one solution fits all' is a ridiculous fantasy.
Not only is it ridiculous, its damright scarry! The WII for instance is a familly friendly machine that finds favour with kids and grannies alike. But its not for me and many other long term tech head gamers, and I would be gutted if that was the only choice! As long as there are divergent needs in the game...

I suppose its a good thing to offer the consumer more choice - and xbox desperately want a slice of the 'familly games market' to try and compete with WII. The games catalougue is simply not up to driving casual sales though, so I'm not too sure how sucessful this will be.

You also have to question how wise it is to push another skew with no hard drive when so many games devs are calling for HD only games to be allowed.

Microsoft are getting what they deserve for opperating their buisness in a brazenly anti competitive way.
To try and pretend this is about europe is showing total ignorance.
Microsoft have also been on the losing end of anti trust legislation in the US and also in Korea.
This has nothing to do with any governments agenda, and everything to do with how this corporation abuses its position in the market place...
Shame they make a good console, or I'd have nothing to...

Without wishing to get dragged into a useless fanboy slagging match, its only the most limited of intelects that can make an assesment of a hardwares potential based on ports of software that were developed and optomised for an alternate architecture.

That MS would always build a console from PC bits was to be expected, but the real beauty of this is that prgrammers and developers can be lazy and use the same old code routines they had been developing for ages on PC architectur...

I think its hard to dispute his comments. (Though I'm sure plenty will!)

The technology IS good, its whether people manage to get a great gaming experience out of it that really counts though, and for many poeple, the jury is still out on that one. I enjoy mine right enough, but it still needs some more trully great titles before it competes with the strength of the 360 line up. Looks like they're coming in 08 though, so it could be an interesting year...

Lots of people love it, some hate it. That's games for you...
the Guy is obviously not a hater, he gave it a huge score and obviously loves it. That why he's so passionate about what he wants fixed! If he hated it, then he wouldn't care...

As someone else who's been playing games since pong, I think its over rated myself.... fun, but it should have been a lot more than it is, and I found the whole story to be very poor for a game with so much backing and so many devotee'...

hmm.. many people don't have a 360, so to get this game on PS3, with all the extra's, and the PC extra's that arn't available to 360 owners, can only be a good thing for them.

However, its certainly not the most exciting news Capcom could have given anyone.. it will be a year old by the time PS3 owners get it..

Having played it on the 360 already, I wasn't blown away so I don't anticipate picking this one up, but I'm sure it will sell OK in some quarters!

@FordGTGuy

Sorry mate, you must be either very confused or badly misinformed.
No one, anywhere in the world, has managed to play a copied PS3 game ISO on a PS3. This is absolute fact. There's few fakes of a loader on Utube, but do your research and you will see no one anywhere can hack the machine. This is why the usual pirate distributers have stopped distributting PS3 iso's, theres no point until anyone can play them.

Every other machine has beeen hacked...

Look before you comment people.
The features that are 'not mentioned on the new press release', are all pretty rubish and not essential parts to the game at all!

Who honestly wants to take a photo of the craft in their race and publish it on a dedicated website? Nobody at all of course, which is why they will have dropped it. Standard practice is to do some focus testing and only offer features that will actually be welcomed...

The feature list has everyt...

No mate - extreme firmware is for playing copied games. Check any public torrent site to see how common piracy on the 360 is.

Traditionally, you have had to open the 360 and plug it into a PC with a suitable sata connector - software flashing means you don't need to do this.

The BenQ dvd drive was unflashable, which meant anyone who had this drive could not modify the firmware and play pirated games. Looks like that situation has changed which once agian means yo...

You can play copied games on flashed firmware machines.

One of the reasons 360's sell well in certian quarters is because its hacked and you can pirate the games. Its quite possible to have 140 titles without a single original. Though I'd never approve of course <cough, cough, embaressed shuffle>

The PS3 has proved unhackable so far.

Oh dear you don't understand at all do you?

Theres no reason to be even remotely concerned. The PS3 will still use these chips and production of the machine will not be affected at all.
It certainly has no effect on what games will be developed! :)
It may help you to understand if you consider that microsoft do not produce any of the components they use to make the 360.

These chips are jointly developed assets and are not exclusively for the PS3. In...

I have to agree with you!

I thought Backwards compatability was going to be big thing for me, but once you have a few PS3 games, there's no point in playing PS2 titles, and I never do. Talking with other PS3 users, it seems I'm not in the minority on this..

I've just listed 24 PS2 titles on ebay to make some shelf space for more PS3 titles (and few more 360 ones).

I may have a 60 gig with PS2 compatability, but it might as well be the 40 gig withou...
