Yeah the 4 gig limit is a real pain to me on this machine, and I really need to more ram - I doa lot of intensive 3D.

The worst thing is that with XP professional you opnly get 3 gig of the 4 gig you have installed! That just adds insult to injury! :)

With the games and the two wireless controllers thats a sweet deal!

I don't know if its going to be enough to trun the tide in this region though, as the 'arcade pack' has been selling here for less than that and didn't seem to stimulate sales much.

One thing is for sure, if you were sitting on the fence and waiting for a time to 'dive in' its never been better value for money - especially for the significant number of people who have no intention of going on lin...

Well you could always look at the numbers in a more meaningful way:

Percentage of American PS3 owners who have bought GTA = 35.15%

Percentage of American 360 owners who have bought GTA = 26.45%

So more than a third of PS3 owners have bought the title in the US, compared with just over a quarter of 360 owners.

Anyone who is objectively interested in sales trends among the machines would find that interesting....

..and w...

Get the hell out of the gamer zone. You are one of worst offensive trolls in here, with nothing to say and barely enough intelligence to say it.

Reported your post as offensive as it plainly is.

Back on topic:

Though I can see why they have made the comparison, the two titles have vastly different aims and will be very different. The language used by the MS marketing peeps is no doubt an attempt to try and tick some the same boxes, but banjo is ess...

Firstly - the headline is misleading. Haze got the same score as the orange box - not more.

I'm suprised at this as the orange box is such a vlaue for money product.

Haze itself though, has some potential for me. I enjoyed the demo, for me the combat seemed fluid, the guns satisfying and the nectre stuff more than a cheap gimick. Impossible to judge the worth of an entire game based on the demo, but the fluidity of play did remind me of Free Radical games of old,...

Whats your point?

Whenever theres a great IP that seems to be system exclusive, people with another system speculate about weather they will get it? Thats true of any desirable game for whatever system.

It's certainly not only sony boys that are guilty of this. Care to count how many 'Metal Gear coming to 360' stories have been submitted to the site on the flimsiest of evidence? I guarantee you'll run out of fingers counting..

Such speculation simply s...

Nice - you can't draw any gameplay conclussions from that showing, but you can see that the environments look great, detailed and large.

This title is top of 360 wish list for this year!

@RAF-TECH actually I'm playing GTA on the 360, but what's that got to do with anything??

I specifically said I hoped there was great gameplay! Quite how you can confirm that I don't know, but maybe your a beta tester for Rare?
If not, then you're just guessing and speculating and hoping like the rest of us.

I hope its fun to play, though I kind of wanted a lot more platforming and allot less vehicular stuff.

I know I'll get flamed for saying so, but I'm seriously underwhelmed by the engine on display here. Theres not much on screen, the draw distance looks extremely limited, the lighting looks flat and the characters and much of the scenery looks low poly? At least from the still images we've seen, the texture resolution is high, and I've no problem with the fun and colourful art ...

This has nothing to do with games - as has already been pointed out.

Which is a big shame, as I think MS needs to focus on creating more first party titles..

One set of numbers that I didn't expect to see was the cumulative software sales for 360 and PS3>

360 18,349,866
PS3 17,981,700

Despite the 360 having been available for so much longer, and the PS3 having only been available for just over a year in this territory, its already sold just as much software. Thats a staggering rebuttal for those that still insist its bought as a blu ray player, as plainly those people with PS3's in Europe have bought games s...

I was slightly disapointed at how linear the first title was - though I still loved it.

Great to hear the world is bigger. One of the things that made the original seem small, was the very limited size of the land areas before you went through a 'gate' and had a new land piece load. If these are 20 time bigger, the feeling a a large sparwling world will certainly start to work, and I just desperately hope that the one button combat hasn't dumbed down the comabt experience. Got ...

How often to people ask this question?

NPD is American sales only, and is published monthly.
It says nothing at all about the rest of the world. To get a picture of whats happening elsewhere you HAVE to look at numbers from other sources, and whilst there are one or two sources for a couple of countries (like chat track in the UK), theres no other source that gives you an overall view of the market in the way that VGchartz does.

I too, am sick of how many...

Oh dear - you really are on the warpath aren't you? Not making a great deal of sense, but I doubt you care.

I hate to break your bubble but the vast majority of consumers buying the machines are not fanboys at all, they are people who have no conception that places like this forum exist and will certainly never see or read your rants.

They buy a games machine from a respected manufacturer, because they expect it to be quality electronics, and they chose the Plays...

I certainly wouldn't give much credence to a site that still talks of 'including a blu ray drive' in a new model. That will never happen so any site still entertaining that thought, is definitely not privy to any decent information and is obviously wildly speculative.

However, I'd expect MS to come out with a redesign at some time - such designs always stimulate new sales and are opportunity to further cut manufacturing costs - so it will happen at some time!

The title reminded me of a favourite quote:-

'I've never been to Draconia, but it sounds like they've got the right idea'.

This kind of DRM can only be bead for the industry and the consumer. I'm gald they've seen the light.

In so much as there is always an upper limit - yes.

Both the 360 and the PS3 have 512 meg available (albeit accessed differently), so both machines need to ensure an entire levels textures can be scaled to work within that limitation.

If there were unlimited memory, you could have texture sizes that ensured you'd always get a better than 1 to 1 pixel ratio no matter how close you are. In reality of course, that data size all needs to be processed and fit through ...

What has happened to news on this site?

Analyst reports his guess in an hour or so!

Why the hell is this news? Even when he releases his guess, its debatable as to how news worthy it is, but his story is ridiculous!!

6602d ago 4 agree0 disagreeView comment

Its not only a sentence taken completely out of context, but it also suggests a complete misunderstanding of what a game engine does or is capable off.

Theres nothing wrong with the textures in this or any other game, and they are in fact very high resolution. But - as is the case with every game, they are obviously a fixed resolution, meaning if you can get the camera directly next to a surface, you will start to notice the resolution of the texture applied to it.
This ...

Theres not a lot of news here!

Journalists spin statements to create more sensationalist story!
Why would anyone be surprised?

To be fair to the guy, there is a big difference between the cultures and to interpret what he says you need to make allowances for this. I sympathize with his sentiment about just saying 'this is the best ever' for the US market, as that IS exactly what that culture wants hear - anything less and there must be something wrong. ...
