The verdict seems pretty unanimous on this now. Its a mediocre game at best - which given the expectations and the CV of the dev team, is a really disappointing outcome.
I still intend to give this game a go, but at least I know where to expect disappointment!

Wow - way to be an offensive tosser.

I agree that the place is over run with fanoys all trying to pick an argument over nothing, but your offensive rant is clearly a pathetic and infantile response.

If you don't like the site and the conversations that go in these replies (and I wouldn't blame you), then don't read them or become involved. Your kind of response talking about kiddy rape makes you look even more pathetic than the kind of fanboy kids who've obviously up...

Hi mate.

I've only seen two titles I've worked on of course, and there must be a lot more development going on that I'm unaware of, but their focus is definately casual gaming. The first title I worked on would be pretty appealing to all age groups in much the same way as Wii sports has a broad appeal.
The title still being developed would be 'hip young adult' if I had to describe its taget audience - definately casual though and neither title would appeal to the hardcor...

The first one is likely to be bundled with the controllers (along with others) and is small -but I like to think its perfectly formed!.

The second (current) one may be considered a full title, though you'd definately put it in the realm of 'party game' or 'casual title' and its still relatively early in the cycle.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. It IS real, and it IS coming.
I've been confirming it on this site since before christmas. How do I know? I did most of the graphics for a party game that was completely reliant on this controller at the end of last year, and I'm currently working on another 360 title that is only for use with this controller.
Funny thing is, when I confirm the controllers existence, I usually get some disagrees? Not that I'm bothered, but I do try and ...

Its not going to happen. The answer 'probably' in regards to 'will we ever see a CFW like M33 on the PS3?' tells you all you need to know. All the big teams and hackers have been trying and saying 'soon' for nearly 2 years and have failed.
If there were any sign of a breakthrough, the answer would have been 'definately - its just a matter of when'.

So theres absolutely no merit in saying 'a custom firmware is coming'. Theres no way could infer that from the one word answ...

Theres no question - the size restrictions have severely hampered the kind of games content that live offers, and as a result, the quality of games content on PSN is simply much better, with most of it developed directly for the PS3 platform and running at a native 1080P.

Live has it completely covered when it comes to in game-functionality and other features and still maintains a 'best of breed' status in these areas. It also has a pretty funky selection of small arcade games!...

Decent TV's have better scalers. I run both the 360 and PS3 through a 1080P bravia, and 720P scaled games look very comparable in upscaled quality.

The DVD upscaling you mention is done on the Cell, which is actually extremely capable in this regard and well suited to video output tasks, as the DVD scaling shows, as well as the PS2 and PS1 upscaling function. The issue is that Sony left it to the developers to implement scaling for games, and some devs did a good job, whilst ot...

I've confirmed it to be true, and that its coming on a couple of occasions. Theres an awful lot of reports now too..

I've worked on two games now that are intended solely for the 360 motion controller. The first one was delievered at the end of last year - the second is still in development, and awaiting approval. I had no idea what the controller looked like though....

I'm still playing the game on the 360 and I'm just about to go and play it again!

Pop up is still apparent to me all over the city - and not just distant objects. As an example, run into a park like 'outlook'. Simply run around on the grass, or turn too quickly and you can watch grass tufts and flowers just pop into existence as the assets are loaded to memory. It was a completely true comment based on my experience with the game, and given to counter comments that there was v...

Much as I feel for the guy and understand what hes trying to say, the quality of writing is very poor, almost laughably so in some places.

Which is a shame, as it undermines his viewpoint which seems reasonable and worth listening to...

I see Bloodmask decides to post an article with a made up headline again? This is the same guy who routinely postures and complains about others not following the guidlines? If he looks at his own posts last week he's kindly linked us to the N4G guidelines that specifically state not to change the headlines.... :)

As for the article - its a pretty reasonable read, though I laughed at the guy not being able to understand the LSD reference - typical marketeer, such humor would fly ri...

Your post was quite reasonable until you stated: "the PS3 is not a AI powerhouse - much better at other things", which of course, is utter rubbish!
Have you any concept of coding AI routines and whats required to get them working correctly? If you did, you'd understand it's simple number crunching mate, something the Cells Spu's are actually rather good at. If the AI is weak (and it certainly looks like it is), then its simply because the AI sub routines were handed to a code...

The problem is - for me, the system has neither.

Well - I'd love to see it and I hope its true. A great action game like Gears could be so much better if it got an emotionally involving story to go with it. But their track record in this regard is very poor, and much as I admire GOW1, I couldn't care less about any of the steriod meathead characters in that title - so the improvement in the stroy need to be huge for me!
Hopefully they've hired soem real script writter and story tellers who know their stuff! I do hope so! :)

The guy has a valid opinion, and one I pretty much share.

I have the ability to listen to custom soundtracks on my 360. In the 18+ months I've owned it, I have NEVER used the feature. For many games, the soundtrack is an integral part of the design and is used to set mood and pace in much the same way as you would for a movie soundtrack.

In game coms however is much more useful for inviting your friends into a game, and its a shame that more PS3 developers did no...

Hack your 360 and use the tools at scorehero.com - and you can already do any song you like. It takes ages to do a good note layout of course, but its worth it!
I have 4 hacked guitar hero titles on the 360.... only one I made myself.

Singstar? I would! Its great for drunken sing song!! We've had it here in the UK for ages, and much I thought you wouldn't catch me on it ever, I'm afraid a Appleton Rum's and I ready to stretch those vocal chords! :)

As for Haze, despite the reviews, I'm just daft enough to try this.:)
I hate the script and the voice acting, and the graphics aren't exactly mind blowing for this gen, but there was fluidity in the gun play of the demo that I actually enjoyed, so I'm gonna giv...

I've still got mine, but its REALLY dusty now and its really only Mario Galaxey that made me gald I bought it. I've tried loads of titles, but they simply don't appeal to me and seem incredibly shallow and weak.

I give Nintendo huge credit for making a fortune and catering to an audience that didn't know they could have fun with games and surely thats all the credit they can expect?

If they manage to get a lot more games out that I find trully excellent , then ma...
