Its astonishing how few people on this thread know what they are talking about.

All the features to be included in this update have always been possible for the coders to create if they bothered to program it. Some good developers did just that.
This update means that the code will exist in the firmware for coders to allow these functions with hardly any effort at all, just a simple function call.
Of course there will be old titles that will not work with these ne...

Yeah, right Phil.
So 50% of 360 owners and similar percentage of PS3 owners are not using their machines online, but somehow they didn't buy a games machine to play games?
The most successful machine of this generation is the WII which has no virtually no online play!Admittedly many of the big sellers on this platform are multiplayer, but thats all the players in one room - not this online community sh*t he's talking about..

More players today, play games offline ...

Hell - I must be way of the pulse with my gaming tastes, judging by the moaning and vitriol I'm reading in this thread! Certainly the reasons given in this article seem highly contrived:
Who cares if a pixelated bimbo keeps her kit on?
Why would a mission not involve killing someone if your a hired killer?
Starting missions from the beginning has always been the same in GTA, and indeed, most games?
People wanting easy achievements are pathetic (wheres the 'achiev...

Its remarkably suspicious to suggest they sent reviewers a game that was 'bugged'. I rather suspect any glitches not related to data access speeds will still be there.

The issues surrounding data access speeds however, are to do with how DVD media behaves: Data on the outside edge of the disk reads faster than data in the center of the disk does. So a last minute optimization is to place as much of the data that needs to be accessed fast, in the fastest part of the disk for acc...

Microsoft need all the first party dev houses it has, so it really couldn't afford to drop Silicon Knights unless it absolutely had to.

I really hope Too Human ends up being a classic title, but I am concerned it won't be the 'smash' that MS are looking for, a lot of people seem to hedging their bets on this one, which gives me pause for concern..

Still, the game is one I'm likely to enjoy, even if ends up being an average hack n slash with some RPG elements and ...

The UK has always been closer to the US than the rest of Europe with regard to its console sales (and indeed, its politics), so theres not really a lot of surprise here.

I would not have thought that its a lot to crow about for 360 fans - since thew beginning of the year the PS3 is still outselling the 360 here, just by less of a margin than the rest of Europa.

The 'spike' in 360 sales since GTA is obviously new adopters after a the cheapest way to play the game ...

So having now read the article, you've steered away from the 'Its as if these guys have never seen digital boobs before' nonsense, and realized that the article is actually covering the very real point of suitability for the audience.

Realizing your mistake, you now try and offer up the argument that its a waste of our time as it doesn't get read by the parents of the kids wrongly playing it? Sorry, but your logic is inexcusably daft and no doubt invented on the fly to cover up...

I think someone needs to tell the guy what sarcasm really is!

Though I sympathise with his point of view, you could expect a more 'bitting' and sarcastic review from him if he wanted to really to twist the knife!

You know the kind of thing: "The only haze I saw was due to my rapidly closing eyes as I started falling asleep with the mediocrity of it all"
or
" Fortunately the AI ensures your team mates always cross your line of sight, so ...

If you actually bothered to read the article, then you'd know just how stupid and pointless your comment is.

The entire article is saying their should be no controversy, that the title sticks clearly to the world well known and created so lovingly by Robert E. Howard - a world portrayed in books and films and comics for many decades.
He goes on to argue that the only real controversy is the fact that stupid ignorant parents will by this for kids despite the rating tellin...

Whilst the figure does seem a little over optimistic, I'm quite sure this title will shift huge numbers for some very good reasons:

1) Theres a lot of 360 owners - many more than there were for GOW1 and even Halo 3.
2) Its now a proven hit franchise, and I expect it it to look and play fantastically. It will be a good showcase for the best the machine can offer, and some will buy it simply for that reason alone.
3) Theres a serious lack of competition. IMHO, there...

It's actually fun to see the reactions in here from both sides of the 'I love a bit of plastic' camps.

This title is exactly what I expected it to be, and quite frankly what anyone should have expected it to be.

Story? Since when has that ever mattered in a NG game? You kill the boss for the pure gaming challenge of it, not because you emotionally care! Same as ever with this series.

Backgrounds lackluster? Same with every iteration of this franchi...

Hopefully they will get plenty of backing and attention.
With so many other countries now offering developers tax incentives to set up in there region its important that we herer in the UK retain wahts left of excellent developement heritage.

As a UK developer myself, I'm particularly interested, but anyone who follows games history and cares will know that UK developement is worth protecting and fostering....

Great - love the Art style and general zaniness of these titles, and I hope the new one is as inventive and wacky to play as its earlier brethren!! :)

Why is this fanboy whinging on here exactly?

Whilst the out of context statement quoted is a little strong, theres certainly no news here, and all thats on display is how much fan boys weep if anyone dares to criticise a game they pinned such hopes on. Its all quite pathetic.

Irrespective of good/ or bad reviews, I like Ninja Gaiden games and will get and enjoy this one. It's not a AAA title, and not a game to set te world alight, but who cares? Its gonna have pl...

A brilliant move offering a single game that costs more than the system? I knew lots of people who were likely to buy this game. Not a single one of them will buy at the prices they are charging. This game will comepletely flop here, from what I've seen in reaction to the insane pricing.

I should also mention, that as guitar alone game, it fails miserabaly and is worse in every way that Guitar Hero. I downloaded and tried it this week and could not have been more dissapointed ...

Have to agree. I thought I'd hate it ( I despise karaoke nights), but I've had a lot of fun with it, and the store and song purchasing work superbly. The integration with the PS eye is also excellent and it really helps to have it taking snaps and movies of your performance to suitably embarrass you!

Alcohol is mandatory for this title!! :)

Please don't try and pretend that the driving mechanics in grid are in any way close to reality - as they certainly are not. I watched an interview with the dev team last week stating that they deliberately made it incredibly easy to play so that anyone could pick it up and feel like a good driver even if they weren't. You can't argue with the developers of the game!

But sometimes you don't want real, and this is one of those occaisons where its fun to play something arcadey - ...

Agreed - I didn't see Sony bigging this title up.
Just the Fan boys - and obviously Ubisoft and Free Radical themselves, which you would expect from them.
