NG2 was a fine title, but it didn't make the changes it needed to broaden its appeal to reach beyond the core gamer.
Too Human on the other hand, has the potential to appeal to many more people, so if its as good as we all hope it is, I'm sure it will sell more!
Normally, you expect a spread of scores from different reviewers and thats perfectly normal.
But very rarely, something comes along that is so brilliantly realized and pulled off, that it deserves to be called perfect.
I've never felt a 10 was justifiable before, but have not been surprised to see them given.
Having now spent two days with this title however, this, more than anything I have ever played, deserves that accolade.
A score of 8 out of 1...
@tplarkin7
Thats your opinion - but the story is about what the critics think, and the statistics don't match with your view of the situation at all.
No need to be sorry mate you are expressing an honest opinion.
I have no beef with whatever the guy wants to think of Resistance 2, I merely tried to have a debate on what makes it 'miles behind GOW2' - it might have been interesting!
what did irk me was: "I can't even take you serious simply because you are obviously picking sides and by doing that showing that your a fanboy. Do you people even think before you type or try and calling somebody out because s...
I can't really say I agree with you.
More system power does not always equal amazing games, and you can design brilliant games without having the latest tech.
I'm probably not the best to argue the case, as I am a self confessed tech whore! But a game like Super Mario Galaxey demonstrates how perfectly honed gameplay tailored to the power available will always shine through any technical limitations. Conversely, you don't have to look far on 360 or PS3 to see s...
I hear you dude! If your a real gamer, you have them all, and I always have, and always will have anything that plays a game.
But for some people, they can only have one. They make a choice and then that pathological need to continually prove they the 'best choice' sets in, and they start to 'rubbish' what the competitive machines offer. It will never go away. :) Most of the time I learn to laugh at this behaviour, its only now and again that it gets under my skin...
Can't dispute that comment!:)
I'm pretty sure they don't sway the average fan boy! They are just used as bait!
Its the effect on 'Joe Public' thats up for debate!
"Reviews only matter to the core gamers anyway"
Do you really think so? In my experience core gamers have a very strong opinion on titles irrespective of reviews and are likely to buy or not buy no matter what a review says. Given the wealth of opinions expressed on any one title, a core gamer can always find a review that supports their expectations!
I think its more casual gamers that are swayed by reviews. They will not have followed a games development, and...
I've not been convinced by reviews for a long time (too many titles I love get mediocre scores!), so theres only so much you can read into data analysis like this.
I think the high numbers of poorly rated games on the WII does say something. Theres obviously a high number of 'shovel ware' games on the system for a variety of reasons - none of which are Nintendo's fault. Some publishers saw the sales of WII as an excuse to try and 'cash in' on those gamers with some pretty lackl...
Tough to tell what it looks like from that video!
It does look a little 'generic JRPG' from what we can see though.
Not that this will stop me from playing it - I like generic JRPG's! :)
Great to see more JRPG goodness on the 360 - I expected to play most of these sorts of titles on PS3, but its been 360 with the goods so far this gen, with only the phenominal 'White Knight Story' looking to provide an alternative elsewhere!
Happy to play em...
@ theNickel
Thats a pretty poor response mate.
I don't take the time to rise to every single nonsensical fanboy rant on here as I'd be here all day if I did. Guys who write such obvious tripe are not worth replying too, so thats why I didn't bother taking it up with the guy you were responding too - everyone can see the guy's and idiot and not worth responding too.
As for telling you where I was coming from with my opinion, I was was merely count...
"miles behind GEOW2 graphically"
Either you haven't watched the HD footage and are simply talking about that useless distorted mess originally posted, or you simply don't know what you are talking about.
Obviously 'taste' is an arbitrary judgment and you are welcome to yours, but this engine and the HD gameplay I've just watched is not 'miles behind' anything. I've been making games, as an artist and animator, for over 15 years and have been paid for my...
If you are saying this after watching all the scenes from here:-
http://www.gametrailers.com...
then there is simply no hope for you.
Anyone else who has eyes, or is a real gamer at heart, will be excited to see the final product.
What an excellent and informative interview.
The developer seems genuinely enthused, not talkign PR bull and makes important and relevant point sabout gameing, and the future of MMO's.
Nice to read an informative well done interview for achange amoung all the web fluff!:)
Though I like the idea of the game, I'm a little apprehensive as to how it will turn out, and if you read the kind of press releases Silicon Knights were releasing 3 or 4 weeks back, you can tell they are apprehensive too.
As long as I don't expect too much, I'm sure I'll get some enjoyment from this title, and I fully expect to enjoy corporative play.
The issue here is the level of expectation. Having taken so long to arrive and having been touted as one of the ...
You have some nerve preaching about simple maths!
Your kind of maths is so basic, it assumes completely linear levels of future sales and totally ignores long term trends!
Plot the numbers on a graph to make more accurate predictions, and you will see the increased take up of the PS3 is rising.
I don't care either way - but you same fools who continually bleated about the PS3 being outsold 2 to 1 in the US 8 months ago, desperately try and ignore the fact that l...
I'm sure so few people read these days that comprhension is a word few understand.
The article doesn't try to compare the actual games. Halo 3 is referred to as it was a huge selling game that prompted a lot of people to buy the 360. I happen to think it was a huge disapointment, but thats besides the point, it sold in record numbers and shifted a lot of hardware for microsoft. The author is suggesting that Sony need a similar surge of sales for the PS3.
Like ma...
"has an exellent single player campaign"
I missed that bit! Is it a hidden option?
In many ways I agree with you mate - theres certainly too much company loyalty on display in here and not enough pure game love!
But with regard to the specifics of MS 'buying' something, that's almost forgivable, as the company has a history of simply buying its way into any market it wants and then using its considerable muscle to destroy any competition. Its the reason they have lost so many anti-trust law suits in the U.S. Asia and Europe. Anyone who knows about coorporate ...
I'm not normally one to gush over any game.
But you are all right.
In 30 years of gaming I've yet to see a game thats been so well and thoughtfully put together, and its a game that anyone who appreciates the art of video gaming deserves to experience.
Exceeded even the lofty expectations I had.
