Theres no question -Nintendo has always been, and will always be the most arrogant and controlling of the three manufactures.

I applaud their machine and have always loved to play their games. Their invention and IP's are rightly seen as some of the very best in the industry.

But dealing with them at a corporate level is hell. Just working on one of their titles sees you tied up of in tons of NDA's that mean I still can't show art assets on a CV that I developed...

Hmmm - your comment clearly demonstrates you have little to no idea of what Home is, or what it delivers.

Personally - I'm glad they'll increase the functionality, but I don't use these features on my 360, so I don't miss them on my PS3. Home is completely different, and I expect to use that a lot - I already do a lot of video chatting with friends around the country , so I can't wait to invite them to my personal apartment for a chat.

Try living in the UK - RRP of a game here is $100, a cheap high street store will sell you it for $80.....

Rockstar with all the instrument is £180 - about $360.

Erm - this has to be one of the maost retarded articles I've read.

The PSP has been a completly unexpected sucess - its consistantly the top selling machine in Japan every week, and shifts tons of units in the west too.

Until the PSP came along, Nintendo completeey and utterly owned hand held gaming and nobody gave anyone else a chance of ever selling a competitive device. Whilst Nintendo still has a huge slice of that pie, the PSP, starting from nothing, has tak...

@ super

Sorry dude - but I have to disagree with "Hate to break it to you but if Take Two contradicts their financial statements knowingly they are financially liable to shareholders"

...or at least your implicit assertion that this maeans a game cannot slip.
Take two are only liable if they knowingly make a false declaration. Games developement, not being an exact science means that title often do and will slip irrespective of when they are anno...

I have a 20 year old mate who absolutely loves Dragon Ball Z and who religously buys every game - and fully intended to buy this on his PS3.
I downloaded it for him to try on my 360. He completed the game yesterday and unlocked the small rota of characters in just 3.5 hours. He was seriously dissapointed with the game which was missing several modes and many of the characters that were a staple of the PS2 releases, and this will be the first DBZ game he doesn't buy.

So ...

Astonishing isn't it?
Capcom are one of the few that are actually trying to bring quality games to the platform, despite lacking sales compared with he install base.
Wii owners should be encouraging their every move - without them, you'd only have first party Mario games and the other profusssion of shovelware rushed out for a quick buck rubbish..

@tplarkin7

I can't speak for him of course, but theres a wealth of choice. I too enjoy games on all consoles, and thats exactly why I can say with confidence there are many games on PS3 that are amazingly enjoyable, just as many on 360, and fewer for me on WII.

If you really can't work it out for yourself, then I'll list the ones that I personally have enjoyed enormously:

Resistance
Ninja Gaiden Sigma
Ratchet and Clank
Uncharte...

Not at all - I live in the UK.

Being well over 40 now I'm from the generation that ddidn't see video gaming till we were 16+. All my friends from that era ,that are still into gaming, use and have PS3's. A couple that had 360's no longer do - I'm the only one to keep it. I also have a group of friends in their late teens - a high percentage of them have 360's.

Its only my experience of course, but it seems to fall in line with what this report says.

The behaviour they talk about is one of the prime reasons I no longer use live, so the answer from my perspective is a resounding 'yes'.
Yes, there are tools to help block the idiots, but I want to play games, not spend ages trying to block unwanted spam and spoilt american teenagers from shouting 'boo ya' at me every time they hover on a spwn point for a simple kill.

Of course, if I didn't have the other consoles, I wouldn't have a choice and 'live' would be manditory, ...

The limited resource that makes dev's choose 30FPS is not memory - its simple processing power.

If you know anything about game engines, think about it: By your reasoning a calculator CPU could run Ninja Gaiden if it had 20 gig of memory. Memory simply stores the assets that you need to create the game world render so lack of memory can result in lower resolution textures or meshes, but does not affect game refresh rates. Don't confused by PC graphics cards - running a game eng...

Who rattled your cage you daft troll? Have you ever made a decent post on this site? Have you ever done anything except sit on the sidelines and snipe at people whilst stirring the embers of 'war' that small minded bigoted keyboard warrior kids like yourself continue to perpetrate?

If you had even the faintest glimmer of intelligence you would see that peoples responses are 'good if it means its really 720P', because so many games, on both systems, are ac...

E.A Stopped us from making Dungeon Keeper 3. Their marketting men didn't get the quirky humour, and were confused by the fact it was 'cross genre'.

You may remember that at the end of Dungeon Keeper 2 we showed the Horned Reeper breaking out of the dungeon? Well number 3 was to be set on the surface world with 3 races and a whole host of inventive ideas. It could have been one of the great RTS games.

But E.A. canned it, and put me on a f***n football game. Needle...

Their longevity is not questioned, but they are game publishers. They do not make the game product, they pay developement houses to produce their games. Bullfrog was a developer, they actually made their software.

Wow!
This brings back pleasent memories...
Along with memories of working at Psygnosis in the glory days, working at Bullfrog on some of those great games was probably my most enjoyable time in the industry.

I remember Alex well, a genuinely nice bloke who I worked closely with on Dungeon Keeper 2.

For those that never experienced a Bullfrog game, they were always inventive and witty and didn't conform to the industry norms. Its hard to think of an...

Hey in many ways I agree...

...but sometimes you want a cherry on the top, and if you did care a bit more as to why you were doing anything it would be even better - no? And if it did blow your socks off with amazing visuals, that would also be just a little bit better too - no?

I'll be interested as to what you think when you've played it for a while. It IS still excellent combat, but in some ways its actually harder to play it with skill than it was in the first ti...

You mistakenly seem to imply I was comparing NG2 to MGS. Please read the comment and don't make up your own version!

I merely offered up the MGS series as one that has almost indisputably benefited from an extremely strong vision from its producer - I didn't compare the titles, just the relative influence of the main design lead on the shape of the produced title.

Quite how you managed to turn that into an excuse for such nonsense and drivel is beyond me, but the...

I was just about to say - you obviously haven't played it, but then I saw the last line and you obviously have now.

Well I'm glad your enjoying it, but honestly - I thought Sigma was just as good, and this title was actually a little harder to play 'counter attacking', as its harder to see when the enimies are gonna strike. I bet in a few days when you finished it, you'll look back and agree that it really wasn't the huge improvement we'd all hoped for. There are many long term...

Theres tons of sony/erickson blue tooth headsets on the market? Are you all blind?
I've got an unused one sitting on the desk right infront of me.... Since I've got the PS eye with the noise cancelling mic, I've no need to use a headset at all.
