Because it is in fact a button masher. Every word he writes completely agrees with own experiences and feelings on what is a shallow game.
But it takes all sorts, and if you love love it, all power to you, from the reviews you seem to be the majority. I'm with this guy though - he calls it spot on for me...

GT5 Prologue - I can see why someone might hate it. In prologue form its repetitive and its not trying to be whizz bang excitemnt ride. I like it myself, but I can see why some wouldn't.
The problem with a a lot of modern consoles is that they are seen as 'PC's in a box'.
This means that development practices have migrated from PC development, and the normally 'bullet proof' QA testing done for a console release is getting sloppier. You released a game for the Snes or megadrive and it had to be bullet proof.
'We can always fix it with a patch' is very much a PC way of thinking, and was tolerated on that platform. as the code had to work on so many comb...
Does it even matter to most? You won't see nothing from these lame comparison video's - as we've all discussed on here a million times before.
I've not played this title on both machines yet, but its not difficult to imagine that it was lead on 360 and ported to PS3, and I should imagine that the PS3 has suffered in that port.
Thats simply what you can expect from E.A. who have clearly demonstrated a complete lack of effort and inability to make a decent port.

Whatever the merits of the games (and I do like both), anyone who chooses to go by the ridiculous monicker of 'Cliffy B' cannot be taken seriously.
Errr.. I can't say it will never arrive on PS3 - but this was on 360 last year when I did some work on it.... At that time, it was 360 only.
This is a two page intro into a test. Theres no data and no results online - its basically an advert to buy the magazine, and should not be included as news here...

Theres been a lot of mummbling that this game might not turn out to be all that we want, and that would be a real shame for a dev with such a good track record, and a gamne design that presses all the right buttons for me...
I'm pretty sure I'll be in the queue to get my hands on this come release day, unless its irrefutably broken!

This has nothing to do with one machine or another? No one suggested it did? Why try and get a console war element into it? For the record I own, use, and produce titles for all machines.

Fact remians that its sheer relief to play the tracks on this game that are from all the other bands...
I've played this since last week and, not suprisingly, the highlights are most definately the non aerosmith songs. Career is just 31 songs, and theres few bonus songs. When you're not playing Aerosmith them selfs, the characters are exactly the same as the previous title, but obviously the venues are different.
This whole game is a real 'cash cow' and definately an opportunity to milk the title for all the money they can get. With its limited amount of songs, its not good value mon...
Well thats the majority of of people who've had 'hands on' time with the game feeling a little underwhelmed.. and the noises coming from SK and microsoft a month ago indicated they wern't sure how it was going to be recieved, so its looking likely this title will be an 'aquired taste' at best.
I hope thats wrong, as I really want this title to be good and I will be trying it for myself, but I'm rather afraid this is going to be giant 'let down'.
How anyone can give this game 8 out of 10 is beyond me.

Very underwhelming graphically. Seriously - one of the worst collections of screenshots that simply don't do the game assets any favours at all. The environments in particular look bloody awful, but the characters aren't exactly mind blowing either.
However, I have seen screen shots that maker it look better, and I'm still hopeful that the gameplay will make up for any graphical shortcomings as I really want this game to deliver. I'm still a little worried though....

The article freely admits that these games are widely rated as the best of this year, and have all in fact received excellent scores from that very site.
The whole point of the article was to demonstarte that even given a very good game, you can find well informed games player who will hate it and justify their hate.
