It's not that I love MS... It's that I like Sony less.

Don't forget Fable for early 2016 as well. Spring is big for MS.

MS has a strong showing for 2016 already, and more announcements to come. Sony needs to spread thier games out better this year too, or did you forget that they've relied on 3rd party bundles and a price drop to make up for their quote-unquote sparse holiday line up?

You sound as absurd as Aaron Greenburg contradicting Phil Spencer's position on competition. MS is continuing to improve XB1, to make it the best it can be, in spite of the runaway success of the PS4. PS4...

I had predicted a patch would come along based on the 5 months of work 343i spent trying to figure it out, coupled with all the new tools the fall update brings with it. I was wrong.

Kionic, I find it funny that you quote 343i using the word sandbox and haters still disagree with you. I think you're right on point with your comments.

@Divine

You make no sense.

Why do you keep talking like rechargeable AA's are both disposable and expensive? IMO, you shouldn't have to buy a charge cable for a $60 controller with a built in battery, and wasn't it you who went for broke with a second controller and charge station so you could play for more than a few hours without a wired controller?

Man, where's He-Man when you need him (probably having a picnic with Man At...

@Divine

-All controllers still use batteries.
-Cables were replaced by wireless which makes them more antiquated than either built-ins or AA's.
-Your solution to the problem of using charge cables, buying an extra controller and a charge station, cost you an extra $80.
-I spent $10 on 4AA's and a charger and do everything you describe with my single XB1 controller. See my other post(1.1.9) for all the other reasons your argument is flawed.

You're welcome, Unholy One!

There's one thing in particular I don't understand though. Doesn't someone who disagrees have a differing point of view? Since this is a forum, one would naturally expect some kind of counterpoint by now. I even asked for others to contribute to the discussion because I would like to know how my logic may be flawed.

You only gave two real numbers: Cost and Retail. You SAY they lost money, but your actual data only allows for one equation, which is retail minus cost of manufacture. If you would like to show us your work, I'd love to see how $400 - $381 = $60 loss. And I thought you said you "Googled it all"? Now you're saying you didn't look up MS. WTF?

Edit: Since the only person in the world who agrees with you is you, I assume you have another account here and mad...

Since the XB1 can technically output 4k they could run at 4k/120fps if they wanted, but the game would end up looking like an N64 game in most other regards. That's why the comment gets downvoted.

1080p/60fps is not always the best choice for devs (See: Battlefront, Halo 5, Uncharted 4)

If you can do the math, lol...

Well, with the numbers you've given(no shipping costs?) that would be:

$400 - $381 = $19 profit.

Besides, where are your numbers showing MS is profitable? Did that fanboy rant come up when you Google "XB1 profit margins"? IMO, I don't like Sony, at all, but I like you even less. You make all gamers look bad.

A standard DS4 comes with 8hrs play time(Single Player), but no charge cable. So spend $10 on a charge cable. Want more play time? Buy a high capacity battery for $10 more and get 16hrs, provided you disassemble the controller and modify it. That's $80 to get a DS4 that one can charge and play for 16hrs.

An XB1 controller comes without rechargeables. For $10, one can buy 4aa's and a charger. Each set lasts 40hrs(SP) so that's 80hrs total playtime. Because there...

I said from the disc, not on it. Since I want instant access to all my games like every generation before it is necessary, for me, to keep them all installed. In my case, buying external drives is just an added expense I would rather have spent to have a machine with a faster BluRay drive and no installs.

I think devs are releasing broken games way more often and patching way too much(see: The Witcher) because of the mandatory HDD installs too, which is another thing that bot...

Sales data, every year since it's been recorded, show that fourth quarter sales are way higher than any other time of year. You can't single out a demographic when talking about global sales.

3883d ago 1 agree1 disagreeView comment

I know, but as a collector, it would have been cheaper in the long run to spend more on a faster BluRay drive than all the extra HDD space I'll need this gen. I have over 100 XB360 games, and I expect about the same for XB1.

Lol, good one MRCody!

Hate to call your bluff, 'cause that was funny as hell, but you would have been 4 in 1980 and the ESRB wasn't formed until 1994 after Mortal Kombat was published. In 1980, the closest thing to an M rated game was Custer's Revenge on Atari 2600.

I'm 39, and watched whatever I wanted to. Hell, I saw every R rated movie you can think of... I even saw Conan the Barbarian at the show!

13 is old enough with good parenting. It's the parents who aren't mature enough to educate their children who are to blame. Then they end up blaming GTA when their kid shoots a gun out their apartment windows at cars driving past. I can tell you from experience that pointing a copy of GTA directly at someone is not dangerous. I would have to assume that leaving a loaded gun in the house with your unattended child is a bit more to blame in this instance.

None of this would be necessary if we still played games from the disc in this generation of consoles.

If Aaron links his mind to the cloud, do you think it will be blown 14 times more? Sorry, I couldn't resist.

Seriously though, I'm hoping that with Havok integration we'll see patches for games like Halo 5. If they offloaded physics to the cloud they could free up local resources, and possibly hit a steady 1080p or do splitscreen. They also need to give it to DICE for SW: Battlefront.

CD3 is just the beginning and I can't wait to see how this ...
