It's not that I love MS... It's that I like Sony less.

You guys tan talk up Sony however you like, but they're still way behind MS when it comes to the infrastructure built around their hardware and services... and that includes the differentiation between PS4's haphazard mid-gen console and one with an entirely new architecture that iterated the Xbox brand... and simple services like changing your name on PS4 possibly deleting your Trophies, progress, and even paid content.

Scarlett will continue to iterate the Xbox br...

You're right. Sony is still going to cheap out and do mid-gen consoles with PS5 because they're lazy and don't actually care about the consumer. Need proof of how lazy they are? Look at how mush trouble they're having with the name change beta...

MS has already stated though, with the launch of the 1X, that their business model was iterative from now on. They even said they were doing away with generational consoles which is why the 1X's architecture...

I certainly hope so. Being able to keep what you've purchased for your video game collection is a must, as far as I'm concerned, because it's inconvenient to keep all the legacy consoles just to play the games you love. Plus they can be enhanced to accommodate being played on more powerful HW.

I'd like to know how too. If I had to guess though, it's via something called Statistical Inference. MS was doing research on this during their "Project Irides Cloud VR" experiments, where they reduced latency by roughly 90%. This short video talked about it during a demonstration:

It will make this. That's why X Cloud is 2.5 times more efficient at only 10mbps vs. Google's 25mbps minimum requirements.

Honestly, I can play anything high without any problems... it doesn't seem to affect my hand-eye coordination at all. Matter of fact, some of my best racing in Forza or scores in Guitar Hero (back in the day) were from when I was playing games high.

@ Dragonscale

Exactly... How many times have I heard about Crackdown 3 being delayed since launch being a bad thing, when they literally developed the Cloudgine tech (ultimately bought by Epic) for the first few years, and did practically nothing with the Campaign during that time? Yet Media Molecule takes just as long and it's going to be great because, according to Neutral Gamer, they rebooted it a few times and need more time to make it good? Okay...

Phil was head of 1st party studios at a time when his bosses didn't want to open up the checkbook to deliver the games. Things have changed much within the company since then.

Yeah, IF you have good internet, but it seems odd to me that a streaming service that works great had to allow for game downloads a la Game Pass. What are they compensating for, great streaming service??? You are right though... that, "it doesn't work crap" won't fly once a service comes along that shows people how game streaming is supposed to function.

Good thing MS will run its' service on as little as 10mbps!

PS Now is here and it works poorly today. Even the article says it's not good enough...

Same thing with VR, since you brought it up. MS isn't late... Sony was rushing.

PS Now as a service doesn't really have much selling point at all. First to market doesn't automatically make the service any good... only first. Here's a quote from the article that sums up PS Now quite nicely, "I am not for a moment suggesting PS Now in its current form is good enough for the larger streaming market, an admission Sony themselves tacitly made when they announced they’ll let subscribers download games to play them locally ala Game Pass."

@ Bloop

Yes, but as Asubo said, not first party. Also you can see when games are leaving ahead of time and can buy any game on GamePass at a 20% discount. Since a new game is $60, you get a $12 discount on buying the game, which makes Game Pass a great way to try before you buy!

Forza Horizon 4 looks absolutely stunning. The upcoming Gears will hold it's own too. The X is more than capable of outperforming the Pro and these two examples prove that. There will be many other examples when devs continue to show their new projects off too. (Please don't argue about not being in time to make a difference because we already know new games are not coming fast enough yet, and the topic is whether peak compute is the definitive way to compare the two, which it is.) ...
